No, mi TV stick os is pure android with play store ..So just go to mi tv stick playstore and simply install the jio tv app like you do in your smartphone
Just install it on your phone and then in the app2fire application select those apps from the local apps. It will get installed on your tv too. I had the same problem and I sloved this by installing the apk. File apps in my phone
Delete the downloaded file from your smartphone ..Then click the link and download again ..I hope it will work then ..Somehow file was corrupted during download
