Interesting perspective about Brunei. I am a Bruneian myself, and I do agree with comments such as the people are quite laidback, maybe the malls that we have are always not busy with people... well except during weekends, which can be a bit claustrophobic for me, but yeah. I mean that's part of the culture.. Some people may not like it, but we Bruneian's do :)
Thumbs Up! I am a Bruneian but now I live and work in Dubai.. humm . Whenever I mentioned Brunei, will alwas get a "WOW"or "Where is that?? Middle east?" Anyway ..I like this!
fun to ride the bus along the beaches. The kids are like kids anywhere. I could do similar interviews with kids in California. A very basic, honest video. I liked it.
brunei is so peaceful . . .shes different 4rm other countries . . peace . .theres no riot , ,no drunk people, ,free of drugs , ,n everythng . .people living in brunei are so lucky . . .lol . .
It is in progress but the tall building's are most likely to be far apart frome each other but there are a few :) The development are great there are more and more great building's If u come here in Brunei make sure that u ask ur driver/guider to bring you to the special buildings like the parlement(i think that is what is it called)
hurmm i really amazed with brunei, but im curious is there any tall building or beautiful landscape there like singapore..brunei is rich counntry but i didnt see anything progress..just curious
Amir Fahmy it’s bcs they Borneo have the project named Heart of Borneo .which is about conserving the forest ,actually Malaysia and Indonesia have sign it as well, but it seems like they are still cutting down trees(maybe bcs of their population )since in Brunei ,the population is just around 400k
I was thinking because Brunei because is that rich the country would look much different that Malaysia but it kind of doesn’t. It looks just like Malaysia.
You probably came at the wrong time. People working? Children and adolescents at school? Of course during those times, it would not be that busy. Maybe different from singapore and australia... but that is how it is in Brunei. Whenever I came back home for summer break, it would be so nice to go shopping when people are at work/school because there's not so many people around in the shopping areas and it is soooo easy to find parking spot. But yeah, i mean definitely, you came at the wrong time
What year did you come to Brunei: February 1989 How many years have you been there: 19 years (now 22) Have you got a driving license: No What age did you get your first job: 19 (once I left Brunei)
@akiakica Yea to be honest Brunei is not a place you can judge by being there for 8 hours... It is a country with lots to offer if you are wiling to make the effort! People there are friendly, polite and generous... Next time you have a stop over in Brunei, before you go, I would do some research and maybe stay there for 3 days so that you have enough time to really see what Brunei is all about. I agree, the airport is small and boring but you should explore the rainforest or try local produce..
brunei is boring. It's safe. It's quiet. And it's boring compared to almost every other country. Once you have seen the rainforest a couple of times and visited the main mosques to see the architecture and water village, there is nothing to do after 10 o'clock.
@@tc1817Everyone is different. As a tourist, if you have a limited interest in wildlife then I can understand. I lived in Brunei for 18 years and I had the time of my life, nowhere else has been able to live up to the fun I had in Brunei... all my family that visited me over the years all loved it too and found it to be a wonderful place. Personally I love the rainforest and hiking. I had amazing friends too. There is plenty to do after 10pm if you have a bit of imagination and know how to have a good time with good people (of course if all your friends are boring then you'll end up bored). Brunei and Borneo in general have some of the world's most beautiful and diverse nature/wildlife. There are great restaurants, beautiful beaches, amazing sunsets. What is it specifically about Brunei that makes it boring to you? What is missing?
@@jonarooni You are right. Hiking is excellent. The restaurants are also pretty good. "There is plenty to do after 10pm if you have a bit of imagination and know how to have a good time with good people" Plenty? Like what exactly? I'm intrigued to find these secret hotspots. If you want to have parties at your own house all the time, then it isn't boring. But don't try to compare it to any medium sized city (450,000 people) pretty much anywhere else. There are 0 places to hear live music outside of private parties. They arrested a guy for busking. You can shoot a canon in Bandar, the capital and largest city, at 11pm and your chance of killing anyone is minimal.
Don't get me wrong. Brunei is not a bad place to live and being "boring" is not an insult. It's quiet and safe. It happens to be a lot less exciting than most of the rest of the world, but the positives outweigh the negatives.
What they doing here (reporter) to stir some &hit in a small peaceful Country against the sultan of Brunei. Too bad it doesn't work man but stir more interest for ppl to want to visit Brunei.
ghayath2011 yes,as long as not in public ,but bare in mind that hotels don’t sell alcohol.so you might have to buy it at the air port (each person can bring up to certain amounts of alcohol )
Lots of these countries, they don't drive until 25 plus or more, if they are lucky, it the job or really determine to drive same with jobs, if the country have a service system or from poor family and need to work, it just it different setup, comparing to UK of course.... But for example to Nigeria system... Find, until 21 or more, unless from poor background you don't work or drive.. Also not many jobs going around...
Ezalian those people been interview are over 18, looks like they can afford to drive but not driving... It just different setup, even in UK, few eighteen years old drive cus the public transport is pretty good and congestion if more drive, really appreciate but American, more drive to school depending on state.. Yeah, different setups
kemi7689 cars in Brunei is not that expensive ,usually for a family with 2 members who know how to drive ,they owns 3 cars at least .1 for each and the other for spare
I manik, diploma engineering in mechanical. 5 years experience in Singapore shipyard, i know driving. I want to work in brunei. So what type of job is available there..? How about that country..? Can helps me anyone to give me right information..? Because i heard, brunei has no job even it's boaring country... So i am confused. I should come or not..?
