For years, I've been wanting a cat, more specifically kittens since I want to be there for them throughout their life, but unfortunately, my mom hates them due to the neighbour's cats' habit of peeing and pooping in our housing area. I can understand why she hates them but I do hope that she realizes that they are just cats. And I hope that she realizes that I still love cats and willing to do anything to take care of them

Oh my mom knows how cute cats are, she just says no because she’s “afraid it will scratch up the furniture” or whatever she thinks of cats… I’ll give it a shot though 😂

My cats both died a year ago and she (mom) swears cats are mean and cruel. Though our cats were not healthy (and they died before they even turned five years old) but recently she’s been mentioned missing having cats and I think I can convince her eventually.
A new cat is the last thing I need to finally get over the deaths of my previous cats. I was Izzy’s chosen person and she was my best friend. Her death hurt me and I still cry thinking about her, a year later. Everyone calls me the cat whisperer, I can bond with nearly any cat, hence why Izzy liked me but HATED everyone else, I can bond with violent cats too. It feels like a piece is missing from me without one.

I think you got it in the bag already because your mom misses having cats. i do think you should find out what she's ehh about and try to solve that. Also bring up the memories you guys had with your passed cats and explain that it will kinda feel that hole in your heart as you miss having them. start out with asking for one tho unless she's okay with 2. make a slide show about it and present it when your ready u could make a poster instead if you'd like. I hope this helped. also im so sorry for your loss i know how it feels to lose a cat. Update me about it oh and try not to ask everyday ask once in awhile.

@@kaylieash4858 Thank you! I’ve been sending her videos and pictures of cute cats 😂 that’s what I’m going to start with. Her problem is she thinks cats are mean and never cuddly. Because that’s what all her cats were like (I know why, she grew up in an abusive family and was abusive herself towards me and my sisters) so the cats grew up in loud and unstable environments. And they were sick, which would make them uncomfortable. I’ll definitely take your advice though!

I already have a cat that just gave birth but she’s my cat and my grandmas cat so I take care of her and my grandma just buys her food and I really want another cat especially her kitten she had six but five had already been bought and there’s one last kitten and all her kittens have blue eyes and I really want a cat that is just mine and I love my cat lilo she so cute and I’m the only person she likes I really want another CAT ❤️😂

My dad is fine with a cat it’s just that I have to take care of the cat and I don’t really mind! But my mom says that she dosent like how “dirty” cats are the only dirty thing about cats is that you have to clean the litter box, clean the cat, and vacuum the fur away. I have a hamster and cleaning after my hamster is way harder to do

😢my dad is a real cat lover. But my mother didn't have any animal in her childhood, so she doesn't even dream of having a cat. My dad agrees with my mom because the cat will scratch everything. of course my dad would like a cat. But he says that she will scratch everything, she will need a lot of things and who will play with the cat when there is no one at home? I tell them every day that when I come home from school I will feed her and play and never leave her. 😢

I love cats and I have tried so many times to convince my parents but I still haven't got one.I have had about 6 chances when some my friend's cat gave birth to many kittens and she offered me to adopt them. I tried a lot but nothing is working. Also I am allergic, that is also one of the reasons why my parents aren't getting me a cat.
About your allergy problem with cats, there's still hope. I'd get your parent to take you to the doctor to see how severe your allergy is to cats, and ask if it's okay to have one. If you do end up with one because your doctor was okay with it, clean up a lot more and brushing your cat so they aren't shedding like crazy. And try cat food designed to reduce allergies. Ask your Doctor for tips too. Just make sure you ask your doctor first.

I need advice, I have BEGGED my parents for a cat for WEEKS and I'm not getting anywhere. I have proved I am responsible and I even made a 4 -5 paged documentary on why we should get a cat. What annoys me most is that my parents started saying "maybe" to me rather than just a straight up "no". a few weeks later and my mom says "no". I asked why not and she can't come up a with a reason. Now, my parents just straight up ignore me when the topic is brought up and it kinda hurts. If anyone has advice please reply, I'm getting desperate!

You can maybe foster a cat or like the video said take care of a friends cat it will give you and your family an idea of how It would be with a cat in your house
My parents do not like the concept of a pet in general. I would not know how to start a conversation about pets. I know for a fact that my family is scared of dogs. They probably would see cats the same way.
Start with making a slide show or a poster explaining why you want a cat and how it could fit into your lifestyle or schedule. Find out the problems your family has against the cat or dog and try to solve them like my cat likes to climb tables so i put tape on their for a few months and she stopped i also added cat shelves for her to climb instead. And you say their scared of dogs? I'd show videos' of cats and dogs bonding with their owner showing not all cats and dogs are scary or violent and most of them act that way out of fear or being mistreated. Also try bringing them to adopt centers. i would also get a friend to help on this that has a pet of their own. i hope this one helped up date me about it. One last thing also understand what you getting into. the concept of taking care of your pet, knowing you need to clean their litter out take them outside for a quick restroom break. also add that on your poster/ slides. And just try not to ask everyday just once in awhile so it doesn't annoy them. show that your dedicated into having one and make sure you stay on your promise when you possibly get one. Try having someone lend you their pet of a week to if its okay to show your responsible enough for them.to if its okay to show your responsible enough for them. remember you don't have to do everything on here these are just ways i think you could use to help convince your family.

@@pastamamia869 i have a little kitten. i convinced my mom around my birthday ( which i also used as a present request) ( also don't bring it up everyday, once in awhile is fine.) last year when i was turning 14. I wrote down why we should have a cat and why i want one. i wrote down the answers to the problems my mom was worried about like scratching furniture and costs. And promising that i will take care of her and clean out her litter every week. also what i understand about having one. That's the most important is knowing what your getting into like the scratching and understanding your fur baby isn't a dog and should be treated differently like giving them space when asked for. All cats are different and has different levels of boundaries. I hope this helped. If you have anymore questions just reply ill get back soon as possible.

@@pastamamia869Sorry for the late reply. Second you got your kitty awesome!! But what you suggested was right. Getting a cat safety net was the way to go. You can also use chicken wire for this. But.. your parents aren't agreeing with this so I'd suggest getting a harness and leash, make sure it's small since you have a kitten. And train your cat to stay on a harness and leash. Which isn't too hard if your patient and calm, you can also walk your kitten instead. If you have any question about those let me know. Never walk with a leash on your cats collar give it a harness because it's most secured. Try asking your parents to go to the store too if you really want to do the first option you could find some Galvanized Steel Poultry Netting around 30-70 dollars. If money's the problem try saving up for it. update me about it if anymore questions needed just reply.
