‘23 350 HO Lariat Ultimate Tremor - just hauled a heavy load for 1300km return through some heavy wind and rain for about 5hours of the trip. Only 2 fill ups. Very comfortable and stable. Very happy.
Good to hear, I have this same truck on order as a ‘24 Platnium to pull a 17k 42’ 5th wheel RV. It’s going to be a while before I get it. I am looking forward to the truck but the payment not so much…
The naming of trucks (and products in general) is getting ridiculous. Takes like 8 words to say a trim now. Add the word Ultimate or Pro to a product and charge more! 😂

Ford does a fantastic job of covering all the bases. Like you said adding some great options that can be useful in everyday life to the more affordable line is a great value. I am very happy to see Ford thinks like a working man!! Extremely happy with my 2023 Ford truck!!
I’ve always been a Ford truck guy. I own one with the 5.0 coyote & have done a boat load of custom work to it. So glad Ford is keeping the V8 engines.
Love seeing the fire change between takes, some times a raging inferno, other times fresh logs, some split, some round. Gives an idea about how much time and effort goes into making your videos.
May as well just give truck of the year right now to the Super Duty. 2 gas engines and 2 diesel as well. Most power and torque in both classes. GM and FIAT just do not compete.
FYI a motor is just a small piece of the overall truck. Ford handling especially while towing is horrible. Crappy cameras, CP4, death wobble, old man tailgate step, no rear camera mirror, no auto 4wd, plagued with issues etc. Every HD truck has well enough power, there’s a lot of other things that matter

Man IDK I traded my Ford for a GMC and the comfort and quality is steps above. I drive 60k a year. I'll take a few less HP.

I still say 24' Sierra/Silverado HD Trucks for truck of the year..looks like Fords doing pretty good as well..Tough choice both good brands
Ultimately it comes down to what benefits do you need and what drawbacks you can live with from brand to brand
GM HD trucks are on stop sale right now because their roofs are splitting. Doesn't seem like truck of the year to me.
Ford has always been the best work truck in my opinion.i have done quite a bit of hauling and plowing for about 40 years and the Ford is the only one that can handle it.the only issue i have is they rot out
Super Duty uses aluminum body on frame.
People who seem to complain the most about Ford prices forget Ford has a big time commercial business. And Ford is aware of competition and reviews rebates and loan rates almost daily staging as competitive as possible.
The body is aluminum but not the frame.
@@pablochacon40 So you are saying Ford uses cheaper metal in its frames than the competition? And Ford trucks lead in pulling weight and payload. It takes s super Duty frame to do that.
@@michaelsheedy I have owned five Ford pickups from custom to lariet etc .they need to do a better job painting and sealing up undercarriage for rock salt areas of country.No matter how much you wash everything underneath rots away.But like I said it's the only truck that can withstand commercial plowing and work

I've had my 23 Canyon AT4 since early June. It had one thing go wrong. A second ground strap failed due to excess resin used to seal it.
As for towing, 5630lbs no problems at all. Went up some pretty steep hills it worked hard but in cruise it stayed at speed up them.
AT4X nope dont need it. This thing is awesome as is. I have most of the options a Denali has, like my interior. I have exactly the same as them without the price.
Taking ford #1 whether its half ton or superduty.
Ecoboost outperforms all other half tons, and superduty….well i love mine.
I’ve tried the ecoboost. Nothing but problems for me. Went 5.0 and haven’t looked back. Far better engine

Not having better engine options is the only reason I’m not looking at a ford right now.
If I go GM it’s the 3.0 duramax
If I go ram again ( I have a 19 5th gen) then I’ll be getting the HO 540hp hurricane
@johnmorris77 the eco boost and powerboost are amazing engines. The powerboost has by far the best features on the market and the most torque on the half ton market. Not that you could ever use that much torque in a half ton.

They need to stop worrying about horsepower and torque and towing numbers. And work on engine longevity and fuel economy

I can’t afford new trucks . I have a 2015 ford f150 4x4 with the 3.5 twin turbo and the truck runs like new I will keep it for a long time. And here in Kentucky we get some snow and they salt the roads far to much so the aluminum body will last me longer from the rust .

Lariat is the best trim price wise. It has more than enough luxury/features and can be had in mid 70s for lariat diesel.

Silverado LT Duramax…best value for the money. Ford is good, but the high price makes it impractical. I can get a 2500 Silverado Custom trim with a Duramax for almost the same price as a gas Ford F250. Ford is priced like a GMC Ultimate. Just not worth the $100k price.
The pick up truck is truly a rags to riches theme now.
Ford makes the best trucks on the market. They are heavy duty. Much stronger than the competition.

I cannot fault the decision here, though for me I prefer my pickup to be as simple and basic as I need for my use. All three of the major brands probably would suffice being they all have work truck models so would just be about if one had a deal that the others could not match.
All of these trucks should had dual hvac system with 2nd evap under the rear seats. The front ac is not enough to cool the large cabin.
Did you notice seats are smaller in 2023 and 2o24 My 22 king ranch had great seats. Test drove lariat , smaller no depth or leg support.

Overinflated prices and catastrophic recalls, there hasn't been a truck of the year in quite some time.
Ive been driving ford trucks personnel and work for years. Have had good luck tough and reliable. Main thing with fords is don't be the guinea pig on new engines and such wait atleast 2 years to get bugs worked out. Ford stays class leading in trucks by improving every few years which does come with bugs on first year models. They aint perfect but at or close to top in crash ratings power payload offroad fuel economy. Toyota fan boys always acting like there trucks are most reliable but in reality they are usually at the bottom in capability payload towing crash ratings etc. They use to be reliable when they stayed the same for decades at a time but they dont lead in reliability anymore either. Besides its easy to last hundreds of thousands of miles when its a grocery getter lol. Toyota has never made a heavy duty work truck or off road truck. Only hating on toyota's cause there fan boys are the most annoying they do make good trucks just not for working and abusing.

BTW, "Truck of The Year" awards should be given out at the END of the year once they've proven themselves in the real world.
If anything, it will also be a good precursor for the next model year and consumers would feel a little safer in trusting the manufacturer who'd have a track record of performance & reliability. How many times have people rushed out to get a TOTY that turned out to be a lemon?
Seriously, you should NOT feature or test any Heavy duty trucks with less than 15K! That’s too easy!! Honestly, at least a 13k BOX trailer. But a bigger cross section, changes everything! 10k cement blocks is easy work for a light duty F150 & 1500 Sierra!
Hey, can you stretch the frame on these trucks to build a 15 foot bed?

Trucks look great and have good features. Unfortunately my experience with Ford products has not been good. Specifically reliability problems
Didn't TFL test these trucks at almost max load and find the GM quicker in the initial acceleration? Also, the competition for the Tremor is the Ram Rebel HD, not the power wagon. The 6.8 is not just for fleets, its still more powerful than GM's base 6.6 and Rams 6.4, and would make a great TV for anyone who wants to tow a larger TT and move up from a half ton for more stability.
The ford on the overall test won by like 15 seconds or a quarter mile. It was also the heaviest ford you could buy. Like a platinum 4x4 duely
The GM wasn't quicker at any point. The Ford diesel and gas smoked both of the GM trucks.
@@cstgx the Dmax was faster in the acceleration test 35-60 mph on the on ramp. The Ford also had a $3k motor option and was barely better up Ike the toughest tow test. Embarrassing for the Ford
@@cstgx No, there was that initial speed up to 60 when they start the test, the Ford diesel took longer to reach it. I remember that very clearly though it did eventually complete the entire climb some seconds quicker.

The only updates that RAM gave to their HD's are new side mirrors, digital gauge cluster, and the HD Rebel. As much as I like those trucks, it will definitely not be on the list.

The only truck still using a CP4. Horrible handling when towing, no auto 4wd, no rear camera mirror, very behind in tailgate tech. Plagued with issues and quality problems. Ugliest front end. All for the most money 👎
No way in hell a Ford is anything of the year especially when it comes to trucks. Perhaps recall and most unreliable truck of the year.
