Sara
Sara, I met you in '88-'89 when you about a year old at your grandparents Mason building Frazetta Museum. We, my wife and I, traveled around in a Winnebago doing our artwork. We paid a couple of bucks to enter the museum and walked up those wooden stairs. WOW! I was blown away! The African warrior was the first thing that hit me. I met your mom (Heidi?) and your grandmother, Ellie. Mrs. Frazetta. You're right. She was a 4'11'' powerhouse. Very intense! I told her in Frank's photos he looks very intense. She said, "That's his Sicilian blood." After I spoke to her for a while she was very sweet. Ellie and your mom were goo-gooing over you a lot because you were the first grandchild. It was a Sunday and I had called to see if the museum was open. I got the phone number from the operator. She said the museum kept weird hours and may not be open. Ellie answered the phone and I told her how we traveled hundreds of miles out of our way hoping to see Frank's work. She gave the phone to Frank and gave me directions to the building. "I hit the jackpot!" Your characterization of Ellie's Brooklyn accent was hysterically accurate. I have a picture of me leaving the museum, standing under the steel cut-out "Frazetta" signature. I had been a huge fan since the first Creepy and Eerie covers. And, Frank's pen and inks were spectacular, too! I lived on The Beatles, Frank Zappa, and Frank Frazetta while growing up! I was blessed. Sara, you have the most attractive sincere smile and mature spirit I've seen in a long time. Your beauty is as magical as the ladies Frank painted. Thank you and best of luck with your future! Love, Jeff Adams..... Love and thanks to you, too, Jeff Laffert for capturing this great interview.
Thanks for the great comment, i'll try and pass it along to Sara
Jeff! Thank you for sharing this memory. My grandma brought me into the museum two weeks into my time on Earth.
That was so interesting, Jeff. Thanks for doing the interview!
Thanks Dede
Excellent interview! Thank you for setting this up.
Thanks for watching
Super awesome interview. Completely fascinating stuff.
What a great interview, Jeff. Your probing but gentle approach to some of the delicate issues in the Frazetta family was well done and surely put Sara at ease. Sara seems like such a wonderful person.
Fantastic!!!! I loved interview!
Very cool video dude. Was so glad to see you posted. Made my night!
Thanks!
What a cool interview, I've got a new appreciation of who Frank was as a person. Thanks Jeff and Sarah for sharing, best of luck to her!
That is so awesome! Frank is one of my absolute favorites!!!
Thanks for watching Jay101
What a great interview! I love this!
Thanks Marsh
He is and always be the master of Fantasy art. I remember it was one of his pieces that inspired me. My uncle sat down with me when I was like 9 or 10, to do a Frank Frazetta puzzle of the Death Dealer, I found his work mesmerizing . Right around that same time the Conan movies came out. Oh boy what a decade to live in.
Defiantly, thanks for the comment
That was a great show, really interesting stuff!
Best Wishes to Sara. Her grandfather was a great artist and a great man. That generation really was very special, and Frank was especially special.
Great interview i must say.. Frazetta inspired me to take up art in 1980.. he remains my fave fantasy artist . Love the artwork also Jeff :)
Thanks Davy!
That's an awesome interview Jeff! It's crazy how much Frank's attitude was like Kirby's and how their wives were trying to keep people from ripping them off.
Thanks Abe
Great video Jeff. Well done in getting a Frazetta on!
Thanks Lewis
Nice interview, its nice to hear about the kind of guy Frank was. He gets kinda idolized of course because of his work but in the end he was just a guy who had a lot of passion and drew well. Thanks Jeff and Sara!
Thanks for the comment
Great interview Jeff! I have been to the PA museum and Frank Jrs wife Lori gave me a tour. It was amazing seeing some of his works. I also got a copy of The Snowman that they had dark horse comics create from Frank's comic he made as a child. Lori was nice to have Frank Jr sign it as well and she took the time to visit my booth at NYCC in 2016. The whole family is great in my opinion and I'm glad they settled things. Frank is a huge inspiration. Again great interview and thank you for doing it!!
Thanks Jim, I appreciate the comment
Frank Frazetta...the master.
Met Sara at Boston ComicCon. Wonderfully friendly woman with a terrifically talented father.
And grandfather
Great interview! Very interesting! I'm excited to see what Sara does with her art, and whether or not she pursues it past just a hobby. The way she was talking sounds like she has that enthusiasm and curiosity that could turn into a serious passion for the craft. I'd be interested to see the way her own style develops.
Thanks for the comment Mike
thanks for the interview.
Thanks Frank
Fantastic job with the interview, Jeff, I wondered if you were kinda starstruck myself until you mentioned it, lol. But damn, that part where all his friends were dead really hit me despite Sara's cute smile delivering the line... it really sucks when someone dies and leaves a family feuding over his stuff, it's just not what Frank would've wanted in the end.
And I never got to meet Frazetta but maybe someday I'll shake your hand, Jeff, your videos always keep me focused and inspired. Take care, man :)
Thanks Akujin, I appreciate the comment
wonderful interview
Thanks Dan
Learned a lot from this interview. Sara is great!
Frank was one of my heroes. I'm am so thankful for this vid!
I'm also pleased much has been resolved. Time heals much.
Thanks Preston, I appreciate the comment
Frazetta and his contemporaries come from a time gone by that produced talent we may rarely see again.
Thanks for the comments Doug!
interesting stuff. I've met Sara in just a real quick introduction when I was hanging out with Bob Camp (Ren and Stimpy) and Sara's booth was next to Bob's. She seems really awesome.
Great interview! Love Frazetta!
Thanks man!
I remember seeing Fire and Ice on VHS when I was 12 or 13 and being completely blown away by it. I am sure I'd seen Frazetta's work before, but that movie really stuck with me. I recently purchased it along with the documentary" Painting with Fire"
Frazetta was so versatile in terms of being a master of paintings and pen and ink drawings yet regardless of form, you know a Frazetta the moment you see one. Seems like he and his wife raised a solid down to earth family. His granddaughter is obviously smart and beautiful. I’ll definitely check out the site.
oh wow!
Cheers, interesting interview!
Thanks Drawnsword
Great video jeff!! Were did u find all the high resolution photos of franks art??
I have a lot of books and copies of Franks art that I've been collecting over the years, but most of the ones on the video were just from web searches.
The Man the Myth the Legend Frank Frazetta..........such an incredible influence on artists.....collectors & movies. You can see Frazetta's footprint all over the Arnold Conan movie....... When I was a kid in late 70's early 80's checking out the Poster shops I was blown away with my first viewing of a Frazetta it was mystical & magical at the same time. Now I have several custom framed prints......Death Dealer, Egyptian Queen & Warrior. Several Statues & Books soon to be a couple of throw pillows from the Frazetta Girls store. In a couple of months Level52 Studios statue The Swordsman of Mars!!!
Thanks for the comment David
Kinda makes my heart a little bit heavy that Sara doesn't have any of her grandfathers original work. Franks art was a HUGE influence on me in my teens and twenties.
cool video... awesome to hear this....
Thanks Gib
Very cool!
Thanks
Sara, as mediator for the family should have got an original painting as payment.
What an a dorable woman ! She has an incredible spark
Boca museum works for me! I’m there:)
That’s crazy to hear some of these stories! Imagining just getting a Frazetta sketch as a bartered something and how shocking that’d be. Just shows how incredible and humble of a creator he was. Still enamored with the legacy of Frank and now excited to order something from Franzetta Girls knowing it’s someone actually that close to him!
Thanks for the comment Ox
Conan the Destroyer is my all time favorite Frazetta piece!
This is cool, I'm just now getting into Frazeta, I'm a late bloomer fan
Sara is so charming. Great interview
Thanks, she's awesome
Mythic Fantasy and Cyberpunk Stories big time! Great spokesperson for the family.
Wonderful interview. Honestly, sounds like a pretty sane family, all in all. I’ve seen much worse happen in families over much, much less.
superbe frazetta n1 en monde.il est genial d'artiste..!!
Jeff have you seen the documentary "Frazetta: Painting with Fire" about Frank?
What fan hasn't!
Thanks Jeremiah, yes I have it on DVD, its really good
Yep, bought the DVD:)
Where can I find it? I can't seem to find out on yt.
Yess, the Great Frank Frazetta , proud he was Italian.
What a doll
aw shucks, thank you!
I have several dozen mounted Frazetta prints, and the ink sometimes comes off in tiny specks, so I have had to spot them with colored ink pens.
I had them on the wall of my office at work, which was infested with termites, and I found small divots in the surface where it appears the insects may have eaten the paper.
It feels strangely blasphemous to spot paint them myself, but it is better than seeing a white spot in the image.
thats good
Thanks K Blond
Wow
She looks like her grandma. And I mean that in a good way :)
trondsi yes
I feel the love
Please chek out my portfolio

Nobody wanted Kane! Oh man that disturbs me somehow.
Me too :( but he's home now. I get to look at the original from time to time and he blows me away!
Come on, Jeff, it’s almost bedtime. Lol
LOL :)
Whoever went to lawyers is to blame
What a great interview, your style and Sara's personality flow so well! I'm a bit late to all this but was very intrigued by the whole story. I found the Fox Strange Inheritance full episode that someone posted last May. Check it out here before it gets taken down : ua-cam.com/video/WCbQP7A8V7U/v-deo.html
