Mel Gibson and Clint Eastwood are not only good actors themselves but damn good directors. They do a better job at trying to get everything right than most other directors.
Amen dude, never saw vince do such great dramatic acting, the scene where he saw andrews character bruised up at bootcamp, just the way his face said it, hit me 😥 peace
I was shocked at Vince Vaughn but the performance that caught me off guard was Sam Worthington. Dude has proven time and time again to be a wooden actor but this performance proves either wise
I've always liked Vince and never underestimated his acting abilities. I remember watching this in theaters and some people groaned when he came on screen, but they later were laughing at his scenes and quick wit. I think that his acting in this movie changed their minds about him.
when I saw Vince Vaughn in the movie I was like "oh god" and rolled my eyes but then I kept watching and really enjoyed his roll. well done and well done movie
When I saw Vince on the screen, I thought this was going to dissolve into a war spoof and thought I had wasted my money. At the end of the film, I stood in the cinema of about only a dozen of us, and clapped. Well done.
Never really liked Vince Vaughn movies, but holy damn he got the ultimate redemption in Hacksaw Ridge!! Talk about being the badass upon badass, hope Vince gets more intense roles like this, talk about the best way to rejuvenate his career indeed!!
Honestly I think he will gravitate away from his type cast role. Good actors don't like to be typecast so they seek out different roles. Lets hope he doesn't turn into a Jim Carrey or Steve Carrel.
Vince Vaughn has so much potensial in his acting. I belive he should star in movies like this, since if he plays in movies who are in this genre or indie related he will win an Academy Award in the future.
Him and Adam Sandler are in the same boat. Both are good actors who can play diverse roles, but their typecast of comedy films has given them a bad rep.
Hacksaw Ridge was such a great fucking movie. It exceeded my expectations. It was great go to the movies and come back feeling every penny was worth seeing it.
I was used to seeing Vince Vaughn in comedy films, but after seeing this film, I knew he had the potential to play a serious character. He should do more of them.
I'm glad Vince Vaughn brought up "Apocalypto". I think that's one of the most underrated films released last decade. "Hacksaw Ridge" was one the best films released last year too by the way.
My wife and I had the honor of meeting Desmond Doss in the early to mid 1980's in CT when he came to testify of his experiences in WWII. It would be an understatement to say he was a humble, modest man. He was the kindest, most honorable man I ever had the privilege to speak with. God was most certainly with him. The book was far better than the movie but the movie, though toned down, was well done. My guess is, Mel Gibson had to dial it back as to seem more believable. Amazing story, amazing man, amazing God who shielded and guided him.
I saw the movie Monday when I returned from Check Rides out in WI! Excellent work by everybody involved! Vince is a very good actor, one of the few that I will actually go pay for a ticket to see at the theater! As for Mel, he is maybe the best movie director of his generation- maybe one of the very best this country ever produced even with all the warts!
Actually Mel was born in America and holds a dual citizenship for Ireland and America, hence he is not Australian at all, only just lived here for a time.
bigfella65 My brother was born in Australia. That does not make him Australian. He grew up here in NZ but that being said I did not know he was born in America lol. So my bad on that. I mean he has an Aussie accent for goodness sake. He was roommates with Geoffrey Rush and owns a ranch outside Sydney.
NSW4X4 Mel learnt his trade as an actor in Australia. He made many movies here. He credits his directing ability mainly to two Australian directors. Good night
Mel is and will always be one of the greatest directors ever, too bad Jew Hollywood treats him like crap for making the passion of Jesus Christ which is 100 percent real and accurate.
100% real....yeh, thatd mean live footage. Nevertheless Jesus Christ is without doubt the saviour of mankind - and I think Mel is working to show that - so good on him :)
where's gods glory mentioned? oh yeah it's not popular nowadays. Lord thank you for saving America from its enemy's, we thank you for what you did through Mr doss, to save around 75 men those days from war, we ask you to lead this country and bless it in Jesus name i pray amen.
Vince is awesome. The people that need others to re affirm their commitment to a freaking game need an adjustment in self esteem and purpose of their lives.
I've seen this movie many times and it never fails to bring my tears of awe and gratitude. But seriously how did that skinny kid drag your ass that fast??
People might say they do not like war movies, however I do believe that once they see this movie, they will find that it is more than a simple war movie. They may even leave the theater saying "Thank You God for men like Desmond Doss" .
Vince Vaughn is brilliant. I would put his drill sargeant in the top 35 or 40 of all time -- well, perhaps from No. 25 to 50 range. Let's not get carried away.
I believe it is "important" to make a profession of faith in Jesus but that isn't what makes a person a Christian. I'm 73. The older I get the more convinced I become that we will ultimately be judged non the basis of our religious beliefs but on the basis of how we treat people with whom we disagree or whose lifestyles we oppose. Many of the men who gave Doss a hard time in the military--some of them even beat him up because they thought he was a coward-- professed faith in Jesus. My sense of it is that many of those same men were converted because of their contact with Desmond Doss--not in the sense of joining his denomination but in the sense of learning what it means to really trust the Lord.
Its great Mel Gibson took a chance on him for this role cause it was so unlike everything he had played before and at first when i saw him i was like what the fuck, that's weird and not very credible, and then the same me at the end was like shit I loved him as the sergeant, wouldn't wanna see anyone else play that character apart from him. Mel Gibson hit it on the head. Amazing movie by the way.
No one cares how f'd up you are as a man but they'll respect you if you have talent, drive, and charisma(side note, look how women LOVE serial killers). Mel has delivered and no matter what he says to a woman I won't look at him different. Vince is down to Earth and he respects Mel because of talent, success, and personality. There are always women trying to bring men down claiming patriarchy etc in today's world...Women need to start holding themselves up to the same standards as men and claim responsibility(they never will) for their actions.
People have forgotten but this is what being a Christian is about. The world will be totally at peace if there were only true christians and buddhists.
This film got snubbed by the Oscar’s. Obviously reeling from an unforgiving bias from events that unfolded years before. The oscars should re-evaluate its strategy. Unforgiving attitudes are not acceptable in today’s world.
I thought Vince Vaughn was amazing in "Hacksaw Ridge," but he brought my only questionable statement in the movie: As they began climbing the cargo net, he told Hollywood, "we're not in Kansa anymore," which is from "The Wizard of Oz" which came out in 1939. That statement wouldn't have been a "lingo phrase" in 1945 when they were in Okinawa, as it is now.
Z Vince von does really well in all the parts that I've seen a man in the movies yet he gets talked about that oh he's not really a good actor he is far as I'm concern is a very good actor in this new movie seems to have prove that why do people have been on his case in the past or I really don't know he does portray his parts well and numerously or with out a lot of
Bible Study Channel God loves all no matter what your "god" is. He doesn't need to be Christian to go to Heaven. As long as you practice the golden rule, there's a place for everyone. Or is that what you teach? Inclusion or exclusion?
AussieTV So many war movies do that, drill Sargent's yelling in someone's face and swearing constantly, which is great but it was cool to see something different.
I watched 'hacksaw' last weekend and dude...why doesn't Vince Vaughn do more movies like this? He was incredible.
Ken Halsted agreed such a diverse actor
Ken Halsted probably because epic films are rare and don't come around often
they do when mel gibson is directing about the true human experience from the viewpoint of those who choose honor as thier modus operandi
Vince Vaughn was probably my favorite part of Hacksaw Ridge. Great character. HUGO WEAVING was phenomenal too.
Agreed, but don't forget about Andrew Garfield in the lead role. ;)
Elrond was there? Now I GOTTA see it.
Everyone was phenomenal in their roles. Gibson as well did a fantastic job.
I was shocked at Vince Vaughn but the performance that caught me off guard was Sam Worthington. Dude has proven time and time again to be a wooden actor but this performance proves either wise
how hugo weaving isnt nominated for supporting actor ill never ever ever fucking know
Vince really proved the haters saying that he's a type-cast comedy actor wrong... What an epic role... I hope he takes more of those on.
Imagine that, Mel Gibson is so good at directing that he made Vince Vaughn look good. Damn.
@@Gyrbae
Lol, Vince Vaughn is good.
No amount of directing can make bad acting look good.
When I saw Vince on the screen, I thought this was going to dissolve into a war spoof and thought I had wasted my money. At the end of the film, I stood in the cinema of about only a dozen of us, and clapped. Well done.
It was an amazing film
@@trigjones yeah that broke me. I've watched it many times and cry at that exact moment.
Vince Vaughn was absolutely incredible in this. Just incredible talent.
Vince Vaughn did a fantastic job in this. I loved him in it. He added a great contrast in this film.
Went to see this movie last week. Excellent movie loved every minute of it would watch it again and again.
He still managed to be hilarious in a serious movie bravo.

Jim Carrey and Steve Carell are both good actors too though.
I saw the movie and it was amazing! One of the best movies I've seen in a while. And the message! Amazing, just amazing.

Well for what it's worth, I'll watch it because of your comment. Thanks for the recommendation.
Yes Apocalypto was truly amazing 😢

That's cool to hear that you got to meet him.
Do you mind referring me to what book you are speaking of?
Vince was hilarious in this movie I was expecting him to be serious but he had me falling about the place

Uh, yes it does.
He was amazing in Hacksaw Ridge.
Amazing movie...Vince Vaughn was great!
We watch desmon movies during quarantine love it very inspiring Americans soldiers,we love this soldier .thank you from Philippines
🇺🇸🤝🇵🇭💪🏼👍🏼
Vince was actually very good in this film. He needed a good one. I always think comedy actors bring something extra to serious roles.
Vince was so impressive in this roll...he pulls it off.
One of my most favored movies ever😍😁
Greatest war movie ever. Craziest thing it was real and the story was actually watered down.
Yeah I like the story of the sniper trying to shoot Doss on the battlefield, but the gun kept jamming.
best Vince Vaughn performance ever
Finally!... Vince Vaughn gets "rave reviews" on something since Wedding Crashers.
First time I saw Vince, was in 'Domestic Disturbance'. I had no idea he was doing comedy too. He was amazing in that film!
Desmond Doss is eternal..
Thank You.
I love Vince Vaughn.
Amazing movie! I loved it. This is a must see!
Strahan is a talented guy. From crushing QB's to a seamless transition to several media gigs. Vaughn and Gibson are very talented too!
vince was great in this movie!
"How long have you been dead?" Best movie line ever!!🤣☠
Mel is and will always be one of the greatest directors ever, too bad Jew Hollywood treats him like crap for making the passion of Jesus Christ which is 100 percent real and accurate.
well that's kind of hard to verify

Super G I had never thought about it that way. Thank you for the insight.
Jp, that AIDS Jesus send to African children is really saving the mankind. Good job Mr. Jesus.
you blame your shitty sexual life on god as well?
Wow. He can handle drama. I actually took him seriously 2 seconds after he appeared. The guy's got range!
irisheyes317 he was great in true detective too
Very funny moment in a heartbreaking love story in the middle of war hero movie Vince great job !!!
Vince Vaughn haircut. Not bad.

just watch old school last night Vince is the man!
People might say they do not like war movies, however I do believe that once they see this movie, they will find that it is more than a simple war movie. They may even leave the theater saying "Thank You God for men like Desmond Doss" .
Who wants Vince, George Clooney, Mel Gibson, Brad Pitt in a movie?
0:05 LOL THAT BACKGROUND MUSIC XD
He's a great actor.
I saw the movie Hacksaw Ridge the Movie was AWESOME!!! and Abc news you guys are Amazing keep up the AWESOME work!! make more GREAT tv shows :)
Rest In Peace Mr Doss.
Love the humor he brought to the movie
Between this and Saving Private Ryan, it's a toss up.

One of the best movies i've ever seen
havent watched a single v vaughn thing.
except this which he ACED
He was very great in this masterpiece
Didn't know who tf is Vince Vaughn, Hacksaw ridge was my first movie of his later I was shocked to find out he is a comedy actor

They keep saying unbelievable bcuz the world is in fact a stage lool all love
A movie about a real American hero and this interview turns into one about sports and pizza. Wow! Keep it classy Good Morning America and Vince.
Why is he been interviewed by the love child of Mike Tyson and Jamie Fox
I want to see nick van owen again 💪
Pretty sure this is more of a sports talk than a movie talk
What's the song at the beginning in the background
do you know know? I'm still trying to know haha
Middle - DJ snake
Note the problem with deep dish pizza. Lots of...well, some sauce. You see anything else on that pizza? I don't.
Maybe the selection of the pizza was intended to honor Desmond Doss - who was a vegetarian.
Mel Gibson - for all his faults - is a legend.
Mel Gibson may have a few faults but they pale significantly when compared to the filth that happens in Hollywood !
please someone tell me the song name whose music I can hear at the start of this video?
Chicago,baby!!
Looking back at my Drill Seargents they were fucking Hilarious They made fun of all of us it was great
His country gave Des a run down ol' farm, and a fuckin Ford Edsel..God bless america
Mel Gibson and Denzel Washington are my favorite actors. But Vince is my 3rd and nobody comes close to them.
No one cares how f'd up you are as a man but they'll respect you if you have talent, drive, and charisma(side note, look how women LOVE serial killers). Mel has delivered and no matter what he says to a woman I won't look at him different.

strange clip to show
did he just say army????
