Iv got the gsx8s, and have seen and sat on the 8r. They both set exactly the same. If you blind fold yourself, you can't tell witch one you're sitting on. The only difference is the fairing kite on the 8 r and the adjustable front shocks. Everything else is identical. However, the mirrors are mounted in a different spot because of the fairings. I'm hoping that I can get a fairing kite for my bike in the future. Just fyi, 0 to 100 mph, the 8s and the 8r will stomp a 600 and a 750 4 cylinder race bike, after 100, the 4 cylinder bikes will over take the 8s and 8r. The 8s being the naked bike or the street fighter version does make the rider shovel the air alot more, the fairings on the 8r help alot more with cutting through the wind.
To make your traction and throttle changes take effect while riding, you have to stop the throttle completely. So not sure if all your changes took effect for your review. I love my 8R
The speed you’re going has nothing to do with being able to change modes, you just need to have the throttle closed. I wish the 8s had the better BPF, and shock of the 8r. However I find having my rear pre-load set at max makes a nice difference by keeping the shock up higher in it’s stroke, as well as giving you more ground clearance.

Thank you for showing the torque in each gear in all modes! This was very helpful to see.
Getting mines this morning which is why I'm up at 330am😂
Excellent, clear, concise narrative. 👍
Thanks so much, it means a lot to me
I brought the GSX 8S just before the R came out. But I do like the look of the R, very nice.
Just brought this bike home today in america, loving it and loving all the modes.
