I have been listening to various live and recorded performances of this concerto for almost 40 years and have rarely heard it played exceptionally as this young lady does. Her face is wonderful to watch and shows she has complete understanding of what Beethoven was trying to say. Her cadenzas are spellbinding and the orchestra is wonderful. A truly memorable performance. This gives me faith that a new generation of young artists can carry on the legacy of the immortals.

Violinists are just special artists. you dont just "Play" a violin.. its part of you, loving, kind, elegant, and the passion these performers have, show, while playing, shows how much a part of it, it is to them..

Aaaah! Voilà qui réjouit les oreilles! Un Beethoven tel qu'en lui-même, jeune, frais et joué à vitesse normale. La virtuose jeune violoniste s'en sort très bien malgré de nombreux micro-dérapages mais qu'on va lui pardonner car elle apporte du coeur et de l'esprit, qu'elle vibre en même temps que son instrument et que son jeu conte la même histoire que celle qu'a voulu raconter le compositeur. Elle entre dans le récit et a compris ce qu'il fallait en faire. Sa compréhension est évidente et son discours n'est pas creux. Le jeune chef fait chanter son orchestre et souligne joliment les contrechants souvent mis de côté. Même s'ils peinent tous par moment à sortir de leur confort pour "envoyer les watts" nécessaires à la tonitruante faconde Beethovénienne le tout est réjouissant et se réécoutera avec plaisir. Comme quoi on peut faire du neuf avec du vieux sans déboulonner inutilement les statues.
Quel sublime concerto… le seul mais grand de l’unique Beethoven. Bravo à tous les musiciens de l’orchestre.

We have very little hard evidence to dispute that. :-) But on the other hand, it would be interesting to know whether even Beethoven himself thought so. And if he did then, would he still think so today, now that so many others have been written?

Bin begeistert von den "sehr hohen Tonnenreichen" - noch nie zuvor gehört. Gemeint sind hier wohl die "Hochtonbereiche" ? Also der Bereich 3. bis 12. Lage auf der Violine. Speziell im 2. Over the past 30-years or more, I've hardly gone 24-hours without a Beethoven fix. But the "fix" has always been a symphony or an overture [such as Consecration of the House or Egmont]. I've heard his Violin concerto hundreds of times over FM Classical Radio or video recordings, in person a time or two. With that preface, I have to confess that I noticed things about this piece that I had never been aware of before. Such as that the violin doesn't enter until around 4.58 in the opening movement. That the first movement lasted approximately 27 minutes [here] and that the third movement lasted around eleven minutes. Very well played. Audio is fine, BTW, on my upgraded PC speakers. Thanks for posting. Hope you are all well. I am going to conclude this Beethoven evening with a listen to a 7th Symphony performance I have not heard before by the Euregio Orchestra Academy. The beginning is a nice melody but it doesn't grab your attention from the start, but the piece is pleasant and relaxing for the most part. If it doesn't put me to sleep, I might enjoy the violin virtuoso.
Dire qu'on était en plein dans la première vague de l'épidémie, et ils sont là à jouer sans masque, sans distance, sans jauge, sans gel... Sans doute leur dernier concert avant une période de 18 mois de vaches maigres. Maintenant nous devons tous retourner dans les salles et les églises pour honorer ces musiciens privés de public pendant si longtemps.

Je ne suis pas sûre. Il existent different possibilites d‘interpreter ce concert. Peut-etre on ne soit pas comparer avec Hillary Hahn. Si c‘est pas toutamment parfait, il semble tres proche et fraiche.

Estoy de acuerdo contigo, cuando los músicos de este talento tienen tiempo para ensayar mucho, pueden tocar sin director. Pero cuando tenemos un ensayo para el concierto y otro para la sinfonía, ¡necesitamos un director!
Además, la mayor parte del trabajo del director no es el día del concierto, sino antes.
No cabe duda que la interpretación es buena... Pero no me gusta esos arreglos. Prefiero al que siempre estamos acostumbrados. :D

Toca muy lindo la violinista, pero no me gustaron las cadencias. No sé quien las compuso pero no me gustan. Me parece que no cuadran con el estilo ni con el concierto mismo. Se sienten muy fuera de lugar y además bastante aburridas.
Beethoven compuso las cadencias ;) En su opus.61a por pianoforte
