    There's a 2 step solve for this where you simply use a spin to get the inner pieces to the edges, then roll it to release them.
    Totally agreed, level 3 tops.
    Great vid Mr.P, nice to see more hanayama.

      Some would call this "overcomplicate things" . 😜 But I agree, spinning it initially would make it even easier and faster.

      Using your nail to hold one side is kind of cheaty. Spinning seems more legit.

    For me, Hanayama have make a big mistake by putting photos of the disassemble puzzle on the box.
    I have lend my puzzle to a lot of my friends and all of them have believed that the inner pieces was in only one part.
    And each of them have had a nice "Haha" moment when they have spin it !
    Without the photos it can be a 4 for a non-puzzler...

    @Silverhorse777 Рік тому +23

    It looks like you've found a non-intended solution for this puzzle. Looking at the insides, it seems that your remark at 4:00 was right - you actually need to rotate those parts in opposite directions from a certain position to separate them, twisting them with one finger from each side (that's what the indentation in the center of each one is for - to place your fingers there), which should be pretty tricky, and give the whole puzzle a horizontal spin.

    • @Mr.Puzzle
      @Mr.Puzzle  Рік тому +8

      Could be. But the alternative would be a massive design flaw. 😁
      From my point of view a puzzle that does not come with instructions can be solved in any possible way except damaging it.

    • @Rhomeme
      @Rhomeme Рік тому +2

      @@Mr.Puzzle I totally agree with this statement.
      Unintended solutions are not the fault of the solver. They are however the responsibility of the designer/maker. If it is known by the designer/maker that more solutions are possible, than the intended, and the goal is to not allow such, then that is when those limits need to be stated.
      There are plenty of examples here on this channel where such "rules" have been communicated as directions of allowable resolutions.

    • @Mirality
      @Mirality Рік тому +1

      It doesn't really look like there's enough purchase to start rotating them from the center position, especially while they're still in position to slide inwards.
      Now, if the puzzle had come with a magnetic tool...

    There's a hint right next to the tube name. I'm pretty sure that the intented solution is to separate two pieces and then roll it the way that the arrow points. It doesn't work when you roll it the wrong way. So it's not supposed to work shaking the puzzle. I solved this with the hint and I enjoyed the puzzle very much.
