Shea wigham, Cole hauser, Matthew Davis, Clifton Collins, Michael Shannon, nic Searcy in a great supporting cast. Set in ft polk Louisiana during the Vietnam War. I just think you two and anyone else seeing this would enjoy it.

Back in the 2000's there were a lot of this kind of movies, premises that in paper can be "real", but end with unreal premises and unbelievable characters, full of stupid silly jokes and situations, but in the end could be somehow enjoyable

I miss this era of Judd Apatow’s career as either director or producer. I realize there’s a lot of immaturity there, and I think the best and of These types of films were Forgetting Sarah Marshall followed by 40 Year Old Virgin. There seemed to be a level of thoughtfulness and relatability mixed in with the the silly comedy:)

I loved Apatow’s television show “Freaks and Geeks.” I liked this movie with Seth Rogan (His laugh is annoying. 😬) and most of the cast from that television show. My most memorable scene is when Seth and his friends at the club in the beginning discuss how Steven Spielberg’s movie, “Munich” is an example of Jews being badass. 🤣🤣🤣For some reason that scene sticks in my head. The film has got some real life moments but also a lot of it is just for not being taken seriously and to just enjoy the ups and down throughout the film. Hah, I totally agree with Iain about this movie. When it came out I was 24 and I thought: "40 Year Old Virgin" was funny...this is just juvenile crap (full disclosure--I don't like "Superbad"...at all). However, the year after this, we got "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", which is, one of the funniest relationship movies I have ever seen. And I mean it--"Forgetting Sarah Marshall" is cinematic gold. But that's mostly because Jason Siegel is just hilarious, and his chemistry with both Kristen Bell and Mila Kunis was just right where it needed to be.
Have you guys ever reviewed "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"? I honestly can't remember.

Risky take "when the husband goes to work what does she do all day" Oof. I'm guessing she does all the household chores, the errands, the bills etc. Plus taking care of all the family 24/7 and herself, you don't have a body like that without eating well and working out.
The question of why the wife doesn't want to get pregnant was also a bit shocking. It's rough on many women, when giving birth you literally risk your life, I have several friends that almost bled out and died. Some women didn't even want children but felt social pressure to have them, they love them now they're here I'm sure but that doesn't mean they want more. Maybe the wife is just happy with the family they have and don't want more. Plus in the USA college and medical care is very expensive, it's a huge financial burden to have another child.
Apologies, I wouldn't normally comment as I know Iain does make sexual/misogynistic statements from time to time as part of his schtick but they're usually just predictable of the generation humour about boobs/sex etc so I usually just roll my eyes. I really love the channel overall and enjoy how different the two guys are but some of the takes in this review felt really out of touch. Sorry guys.

Ok, so Ian’s reasoning here is that the movie is too predictable because the woman lead has no other romantic interest in the movie except for Ben, and that makes the audience know through the entire movie that they’ll end up together so you don’t care about them ending up together. And also, in the same review on the same movie, Ian’s complaining that the female lead doesn’t have any other romantic interest, a thing that every other romantic movie coming from Hollywood has, to give the audience fake hesitation in the lead characters getting together or not. So it’s both predictable and not predictable at the same time? 😂
And complaining that this movie only shows ONE (or two) characters viewpoint on having children and life ending. Don’t all movies focus on one or two, sometimes more, leads? What do you want, them to show how this experience is perceived by 100 people???
And seriously, I love your channel, but nitpicking about not getting to know how they pay their bills in a comedy??? 😂
