Seriously, I'll never understand people getting shit talked for losing weight and getting healthier, both bettering and extending their lives. My dad and step mom have both lost around 50lbs in the past year and it makes me so happy to see them looking better, feeling better, and overall being healthier.
For me the problem is the need to lose weight in order to get better roles. Yes, I'm m really happy that he's healthier. But thin being the body type that lands 99% of the main roles in media often leads to eating disorders in actors. As a doctor I've recently treated a teen actress with an eating disorder and it breaks my heart. She claims that unless she's thin she'll be relegated to supporting roles and I can't say that's not true...
That’s the price tag for egocentric ventures. Every actor/actress knows this whether they want to acknowledge it or not. So maybe stay tf away from Hollywood if you can’t handle that aspect of it because you sure as f aren’t going to change it.
When you have an opportunity to work with a legendary director, you just can't missed an opportunity, you just can't. The fact that Jonah was willing to work cheap with Scorsese alone made me respect him even more
Jonah Hill's Donnie Azoff should have got an Oscar. It's such a unique performance. Moneyball is fantastic, but Donnie was such an awesome role that he totally knocked out of the park.
Unfortunately both he and Leo lost to Matthew McCounaghey and Jared Leto. Any one of those actors would be a just winner, while the other would be a very unfortunate loser. Would hate to be the people who’d have to make the decision to separate those performances
I remember my friends and I were background actors for Mid 90s. Meeting Jonah Hill was a surreal experience he was extremely kind but beyond focused. And you see him work, you can tell this is something he loves to his core
One of the most interesting shows I've seen with brilliant acting and storytelling. I watched it as a high schooler and it sticks out as a show that has shaped me into who I am now.
I always wonder when the GQ career review episodes are being filmed if they touch on every movie, but end up not using every talking point (movie) because nothing “interesting” or noteworthy were said compared with other points of the conversation outside of the movies they know they must talk about like Superbad or 21 Jumpstreet
When he broke out in Superbad, everyone thought he was Seth Rogen 2.0 . But Jonah knew that he was playing the part of "High School Seth Rogen" and he knew he could play many other roles as well. It just took awhile for the rest of us to catch up.
I have loved watching the transformation of Hill. I’m glad he went after what he wanted. And huge respect when he said he would do anything to work with Scorcese - any actor would
While he does comedies from time to time, he's a good dramatic actor and though I wasn't a fan of Mid90s, he at least put effort into his directorial debut and hopefully, he makes more movies.
Wow I can’t imagine how even much funnier The Hangover would be with Jonah. I don’t mean that as a slight to the movie per se, I just think he’s always hysterical in his comedies.
As the old adage goes, "Dying is easy. Comedy is hard." Comedy requires such precise timing and specific delivery that translate to skills needed for dramatic material.
Mid90s is one of the best coming of age movies I have ever watched. It wasn't what I expected it to be, i.e. a nostalgia hurricane. If you have the time please watch it.
I definitely find that Moneyball and Wolf of Wallstreet are his best performances. He simply could have accepted the type casting stereotype and been shoved into perpetual regret. I'm so glad he stuck to his belief in himself and exceeded expectations.

I am genuinely beginning to LOVE his movies, especially recently. I am pretty sure I've seen You People like 5 times at this point for the fascinating plot and interesting acting choices.
If Hollywood starts casting fat actors in roles not just intended for comedy or as villains, though, people might start to think of fat people as humans! And we can’t have that. . .
So, we all just forget he's a self-centred and narcissistic person because he can pretend to be other people extremely well? If he is paid enough that is. Yeah let's all feel so sorry for poor Jonah 😭 I'll never understand the obsession with that. Why would you want to watch somebody- who doesn't care about your existence, or that of money- pretend to be somebody just as "pathetic" as we are? Then clap like a seal when they go up on stage to reward themselves for it. Makes no sense whatsoever, but the neither does the entertainment industry as a whole.
This video is about his career achievements, seems like he is a bad person but the video nor this channel is about deep-dives into celebrities' personality.
So... you wouldn't appreciate the work of a good actor because he's - like, "not nice"? I mean, as long as he doesn't commit a felony, who cares? Have you ever heard of Marlon Brando?
That is the whole problem, he is NOT a good actor or suitable to play serious normal character roles! He is not on De Caprio’s league and should not have been casted for Wolf of WallStreet. He is ONLY suitable to play chubby degenerate guys like those roles on Knocked Up, Superbad or Click…
Yes, but in an entirely manner. His role as Donnie was an opportunity to flex his acting prowess by embodying a well-written character (caricature) role. It was the type of role which is usually reserved for "serious actors" who can also be funny. A la Robert Downey Jr, Brad Pitt, Leo, etc. For Jonah to be given the opportunity meant that Scorsese trusted him to play that role in his over-arching narrative. Since he's lost weight he hasn't done anything worth while.. I don't think it's because he lost weight, but he is just awful now
Same with Adele and even her surgeries. Not people's business bruh
Jonah was smart to see how good a chance wolf of Wall Street was for him. That movie and his performance were awesome
