Great video essay. I definitely want to focus on a wider variety of short games next year. So many of the smaller titles I’ve tried on Extra have been really great experiences. Road 96 was a recent highlight for me.
@@ChairmanAntelope I've downloaded it and looking forward to it. Currently working on re2 and life is strange just in case they go away. We'll find out next week!
Love this video! Inspiring as always. Probably my lowest ever year at 172 hours, 14 games. Top 5 were COD, Diablo 4, Moonlighter (Thanks for the rec!), NBA, and rocket league. Looking forward to boosting that game number in 2025!
@@emadou9 wow more moonlighter hours then rocket league! Have you beat it yet? 14 games is pretty low but those are some long/multiplayer games. This video was made for you haha. Let's double that number next year and try more shorter games!
What a lovely video. Its so obvious but such an overlooked point of view. I spent like 300 hours across 4 games and i realised i could have experienced SO MUCH You got a new subscriber sir!
Thanks so much. I hope you enjoy many more new games in 2025! Especially if you have PS plus extra. I can understand trying to get your money's worth after spending $100 on a game and wanting to maximize your hours in it. But if you have a game library sub, there's zero guilt and buyers remorse, if it doesn't bring you joy just move on to the next game. There are so many universes for you to play in, don't get stuck doing a job you don't enjoy, for free.
Happy that the algo worked in both our favor. Welcome to the club short King! Was it the thumbnail or the title that made you click? I'm not set on the title. I just changed it again a bit ago. There's so much the video covers that it's hard to put it all in a concise one liner.

That's pretty impressive. Some of those games can easily be 100s hrs each. You got a great variety and definitely got your money's worth. Did you play short games too? Sucks they don't make it to any lists lol.
@@OliveOcelot Yea, like 7 games under 8 hours. That's why i want to know all games not just top 5. They have the numbers as my #5 was updated and changed, they need to just give iit to us
My attitude now is to try just about everything other than genres I know I don't like or care much for. And if a game doesn't hook me then there's no need to force myself to finish it and erase it from the imaginary backlog.
@@ScottMakesGames yeah totally. I understand wanting to finish the game if we bought it and feel like we have to get our moneys worth, but with Ps plus extra, there's zero guilt about not finishing and moving on to something you actually enjoy.
510 hours, with 240 hours in FFVII Rebirth 🫣 It never felt like a job though, and I didn't go for the Platinum, I'm just a slow player. I haven't played many games from the last few years, so PS+ is amazing for me. I've picked up games I would've NEVER played, but I am still learning it's ok not to do EVERYTHING. And it's even ok to play something for an hour, not vibe with it and move on. Glad to have found your channel!
Happy to hear. I did get into final fantasy 7 when it dropped as a monthly game a few years ago but I've been too busy with extra to spend time on essential games. Yea it's so liberating when you move on from a game that's just not doing it for you. We've been engrained to extract every minute out of our purchases so it's so hard to go against the grain.

Wow more time in Evil Within than Tsushima? I played both a month apart and was surprised to see evil within didn't even make it to game of the month. Was there a grind trophy?
@ the worst part was the collectibles, and considering I started a new game instead of using chapter select that’s why I took that long, the game is really good tho
