I just bought a second hand Motif XF6 to pair with my An1X... the 1X is already a fantastic synth and the XF is one of the most advanced synths I own even though it's discontinued and a bit old... there's no way I could justify getting the new Montage M ... as the saying goes, it's not what you've got, it's how you use it 👍
Yes, Motif XF is good with AN1x. That's right. If someone sells Montage first, they will be cheap synthesizers. It can also be modified, only a very old Montage is needed until the end of 2020 production. But if FM-X is not needed, then MOTIF XF is enough for everything; it has a better sequencer and patterns than Montage.
And if at this stage we take, for example, the Virus TI desktop, then they will tear into pieces all the absolutely Yamaha synthesizers that they are currently releasing (I’m not talking about XF, it has a lot of useful things, by the way, MOTIF F reads absolutely all files and sample formats! For example, a protected format that even Montage cannot read! This is a very valuable quality. And Yamaha said that Montage is compatible down the line and even this is a lie! If Montage read protected formats, such as in the library "Inspiration in Flash", then it would be possible to claim from Yamaha about full compatibility.

@@daz4627 Oh friend, I thought you had Motif XF in full use already, I didn't know it was still on the way. 🙂 I can send you presets at any time, don’t worry about it, I’m a man of my word. Flash for Motif XF is a must have! And the minimum size is preferably for one memory unit of 1GB.
On the market for Motif XF there is still 2GB memory from Mutec FMC05, FMC06, FMC07. I tested these modules that are fully compatible with Motif XF.

In practice, you can install 4GB Flash in Motif XF, in other words, with 2x Mutec FMc07 modules your synth will be full to the max.
But since I had it, I can say from my experience. Such a gigantic memory size is needed for significant pianos, but alas, for Motif XF there are no libraries of high-quality pianos with a size of 3.5..4GB. Therefore, for all other sounds, 1GB or 2GB is enough for many. But I want to say right away, don’t buy 512MB of this memory, either here or there, in any case, its size is not ideal.
Unfortunately, when I started making the first libraries, I didn’t save much sample memory space. I used very high quality samples to make my libraries and their size is a bit large. Now I have learned how to make compact libraries with 400...640 presets from 128MB for Montage.
But I’m sure you’ll find many interesting ones among my presets! There are sounds of the virus, nord lead 2x, mogular G2 and from analog synthesizers and performances and all my sounds like my friends telling me “I’m pissing for joy, you’re a pro bro!”. And now no one buys my sounds, even if they are good or the best and it's a little sad. 🙂 Almost everyone is one VST user. :-((

I don't have much free space on the cloud, otherwise I would have posted 1,000,000 examples from the real AN1X. I know of only one VA synthesizer whose filter is better than others similar to it. This synthesizer is AN1X. Its resonance can sing with keytracking oscillators turned off! Don’t trust Yamaha, ignore this manufacturer, there are no longer anyone in this company who did everything right. Why trust scammers? There are a lot of companies in the world that produce better synthesizers than Yamaha. And most importantly, I have enough lies from Yamaha.
Don’t be naive that the new Montage M will receive a bunch more operating system updates. This did not happen with Montage 2016! For all this time, Yamaha has only eliminated its own errors, such as OS 2.0 in terms of compatibility with files from old XS, XF synthesizers. But even after the updates, Montage still doesn’t read “inspiration in flash", with all the contents. They reached firmware 3.51 and nothing new except Smart Morph in FM, which works in steps and has absolutely no musical application, Montage did not see anything else. The 16-step motion sequencer is still left with only two forms, and not sixteen different ones, the effects section cannot be modulated or there is no binding to the knobs, this only works on some effects. There is no sequencer, the effects have not been improved, FM-X and the display have not turned into FS1R + good controls. The display in Montazh serves only to display symbols; in Korg M3 expanded and Rolands Fantom it has long been an active control element for modulations. I described all the disadvantages that remained in Montage in my videos criticizing Yamaha. I don't want to go through this whole long list here. If Yamaha could do this, then the new Montage would receive AWM2 as in SY99. But even this they cannot do. If Yamaha could make FS1r, then it would also be in Montage 2016. If Yamaha repeated the VL synthesis, it would also be available in Montage M. There is nothing in it. Microcircuits, processors, chipboards, everything is developing, but Yamaha stands still.
I will say more..... any small box of Roland with a price of 300 euros, any small box of Korg with prices from 300 to 800 euros has more effects and memory for samples, such as Wavestate MK2. If another manufacturer manages to pack a lot of potential into a small suitcase, why buy a coffin for 5000 euros such as Montage M8x where there is nothing, just as there was nothing before?
If you say that 2 inserts, 1 system and 1 master effect (poor quality, these are the effects in the Yamaha line) are enough for you, then you forget that, for example, for assignable effects we have neither system effects nor a master. There are only 2 inserts. A cheap laptop with a price of 600 euros, with a VST for a lower cost, will allow you to do more than any (even the future synthesizer from Yamaha) Yamaha synthesizer, no matter what its price.
Before buying Montage M, write to the Yamaha service center and ask the question “what DAC, what operational amplifiers are used in Montage M with its high price?” You will be surprised when you receive the answer and read the parameters. Respect yourself and your ears! You cannot “absorb” sound that cannot in any way be equated to the price of the synthesizer.
If you have children, if they bring home good grades from school, do you practice the method of rewarding the child with praise and financially? Your child brings home an excellent grade, and you say “well done, I’m proud of you and very pleased, take 50 euros and go to the cinema with this money.” This is right.
Will you continue to encourage your child and give him banknotes when the situation changes or will you take charge of raising your child? This is what I'm getting at. You cannot financially support a manufacturer that is not able to understand its problems and is not able to produce the right synthesizers that meet the current times. Many smart people still hold rarities from the 80s in their hands. Speaking globally, almost the entire world music industry has reached a dead end, and many are finding a way out of this dead end. But this is not about Yamaha. Yamaha is stuck in a black hole and Yamaha is unable to get out of it. I would like to give Yamaha a hand and offer my help. But the problem is that Yamaha simply don’t want to hear anyone.

How else? Have you already read what they added to the new Montage M? Smart people like my videos, and sick people dislike them. Based on the statistics of votes that I watch from my videos, I determine how many morons and how many smart people on planet earth are on the topic (Yamaha synthesizers). I will make many more videos like this and will make countless more of them to punish Yamaha for their stupid decisions. I'm not afraid to tell the truth. But there are people who are afraid to hear it!
I can do the same thing about Waldorf, in terms of “sound quality” and about the crappy DACs and operational amplifiers used in the expensive Waldorf Quantum, but I won’t do this, for the reason that at least the synthesis is OK in Quantum. I won’t talk about Korg Kronos either to shoot such videos, for the reason that there the memory size is in order and the piano is better than СFX in MOTIF & Montage and with the synthesis and sequencer everything turned out right there right away. I won’t shoot anything about Roland Fantom either, since the Fantom was initially “empty”, but Roland changed everything on the synthesizer with firmware updates and raised this workstation to a new level! And I will destroy the Yamaha Music (I'm talking about the electronic musical instruments department)!
We must fight this crap otherwise the world will not change for the better. And if you think I'm doing these videos wrong. This means I have 3 options for reasons why someone might not like my videos:
1. the person is a moron and does not understand the realities!
2. a person lives by the principle “I’m from the 14th century, it doesn’t matter what Yamaha does, I’ll buy it!”
3. This is Yamaha! Which means everything is forgiven for it.
