Admittedly… I can dial in killer brass and leads all day long on both my MODX and Fantom… but I REALLY struggle matching pianos and pads.

This video is so much longer than 23 minutes. I keep replaying over and over all of the ANOINTED piece performances (which is all of them). You should exhort the Lord as you play and I'd watch that on loop all day.

Free Running is a nice pad as well. I use Punch Drone (edit the following: mono to poly - note shift +12) then combine with Big Comp for the churchy stuff

Does anyone else find it annoying that you have to reset the volume of the patch after changing it each time?
If you’re like me, I change sounds multiple times on the fly during a song in a live performance. Having to adjust the volume after each patch change creates an extra step during playing taking your hands away from being able to continue playing during a song. This doesn’t happen on the Motif.
Yea I haven’t figured that out yet, there’s a way to mute the new sound when you add it but I haven’t found a way to keep the same volume level
There's an option (when adding a new sound) to retain the level/mixing of the original patch. Deselect it and you won't have to reset each time.
I save it to where I prefer it and then I set scenes for the different volumes I like when I drop stuff so I don’t have to keep resetting or redoing my volumes

I love your playing too bro, i just love that poly hook. I dont have a montage i have the yamaha moxf8 and yamaha mx61 and they both have poly hook synth lead sound but i dont know how to edit and effect and turn off delay on those boards

How do you make sure when you layer your piano with a pad it doesnt get too much muddy when moving fast
I stand with this question... Please help out on your mixing techniques.
I try not to turn the pad up too much and if needed, I can turn down the release some
I'll try it, although I still want the pad sound to be more audible

Hey Andrew i have a quick. I wanted to load midi on my Montage8. I watched a UA-cam tutorial but after following. I load midi from my usb drive. When i press on play button it seems the middle is automatically triggering different keys on the keyboard which is not what i want. I want only midi sound to play. Is there some way you can help with loading midi on the keyboard

How do your keys cut through so well and strong? You leave it flat?
I do leave the sounds flat most times, every once in a while I can add some highs but for the most part, I play the sounds as is

Question. When I patch my EP with my acoustic I can’t mix the EP at all it just gives 100% no matter where I have the fader. I can mute and unmute it but it’s overpowering the acoustic piano sound. Have you dealt with that and how do I fix it? I’m playing on the montage btw
On the right side of the keyboard, you have to change the button from performance control to patch control

I have the same sounds on my Yamaha ck88 but the s700 sound so weak compared to all the other pianos. What's the best piano in your opinion?
I think the s700 is great with some tweaks but any one of the pianos on the CK you'd probably have to adjust to your liking with the EQ

Can you do passing chords in C sharp /D flat!!!!!!
I use a Roland Jupiter 50, have a patch with piano, electric piano and dark pad (filtered strings sound) and it works fine.

Andrew, I got so captivated by the sounds that you played that I've been listening to this video for the past few days. I got on my Montage and I tried to go where you went and wow, I could not make out what you were pressing on your screens. I was lost. I guess that's on me, I just don't know my board like that yet. Which leads me to my next question, have you played the new Montage M8X? I am selling my Montage 8 and I'm gonna buy that one. I like the easier and more receptive user interface, especially the extra screen over the element buttons. People have been putting videos online but there playing or the sounds that they chose to use is not good for what I wanna hear. I'd love to hear you play those pianos wow . . . can't wait for that video
Thanks for watching and the kind words!! I tried to screen record the Montage screen to show the sounds but it didn’t work out. But the good thing is if you see the names of the sounds at the top, you can hit search on the Montage and find those sounds. I did play the new Montage and it’s amazing! I’ve uploaded some videos on my channel
