Right! I see those types of comments on so many of these healthy eating videos. It's crazy because if she had showed herself pigging out all day or eating lots of processed foods people would barely say anything but as soon as someone is bettering their health and lifestyle people lose their minds!

Anyone can lose weight by cutting calories super low but it's not good for long term weight loss. You'll eventually gain everything back. You should try figuring out your recommended macros and reaching those everyday. It's easy and you can eat way more food than "dieting". Also weight training to build muscle is great it burns fat and tones your body making for better weight loss long term. But hey to each their own...

I used to make a pasta salad similar to that but I add Italian dressing and it gives it delicious flavor! Also for non vegetarians adding some chopped pepperoni and celery to the salad gives it a nice crunch and pop of flavor. Shae if you pour your leftover smoothie into an ice cube tray and freeze it, you can reblend it anytime by adding some liquid :) it's a great way to have a smoothie prepped and keeps it nice and cold and frozen!

I'm not a vegetarian but since April I've been trying to eat healthy and cutting out most of my meat intake has been a journey for someone previously addicted to fast food. I just want to tell you that I feel so inspired by you! I watched your weight loss videos last night and I'm starting the couch 2 5k today! Also started replacing 2 meals with smoothies today, although I will be using protein powder to keep me a little more full :) thank you so much for the inspiration. For any one that does want to add flavor to their food without sodium. Mrs Dash seasonings are amazing. My favorites are the Tomato basil garlic & the lemon & herb. But they have many different flavors.
I want to recommend some bread to you! It's called Ezekiel Bread! It's made of only sprouted grains and it has a very short ingredient list which is always best! You can find it in the frozen section of whole foods! They also make wraps! Also make sure your eating 100% whole wheat pasta! Make sure "Whole" is the first word on the ingredients list! Whole wheat pasta has more fiber and will keep you full longer. It also breaks down into sugar a lot more slowly then white pasta which is good because it helps with diabetes prevention.
You may like cucumber sandwiches; cut a cucumber in half (peel if desired), add lean sliced meat of your choice... turkey, chicken or whatever, cheese of choice, tomatoes (more veggies if desired). Use the cucumber as the "bread" and construct your sandwich. I like to add spices and a little olive oil. Delicious!
I eat everything low carb and it has changed my life! That being said, I gotta mix up my veggies...if you haven't yet, you gotta try spaghetti squash with marinara!! It's soooo good and it's a great alternative to spaghetti noodles! Also, make smashed cauliflower instead of potatoes! Season the hell out of them, and you can get them as a substitute for starchy potatoes!
I am like you, ratine lot of fruits and veggies, i am also Gluten , lactose free since 9 months and vegetarian .. We have to take our health seriously nowadays and once we start, we can't look back. Congrats on your weight loss!! Xoxo
Thanks for the video. I changed my life style 2yrs ago and although I still eat meat I eliminated alcohol and added walking two miles every day and have lost 30lbs. Oh, I also drink about a gallon of water every day. I feel so good inside and out and now enjoy clothes shopping a lot more. :)

(you can find in any seasoning isle) it has so many benefits for your body and way better than white salt such as ... Regulating the water content throughout your body. I tried being raw vegan years ago but I was eating so much sugar from all the fruit and veggies it made my blood sugar sky rocket and made me insanely hungry all the time. I actually got closer to diabetes because of it. that's when I learned that fruit is treated the exact same in the body as table sugar, and had to go more low carb to keep all that in check. just some thing to look out for in the future! love all your videos.

a healthier way to cook the sweet potatoes is to skin them and chop them up into small chunks and steam them using stainless steel pot. you can leave it in chunks after it's cooked or mash it up like baby food and add sea salt, cayenne pepper, cinnamon and optional butter. i tried making sweet potato fries and it was just too greasy and gross. you can also use food processor, add nuts with medjooled dates to make a pie crust then add sweet potato on top. smoothie is great for one meal. i drink a huge smoothie for breakfast now and i add kale. i also supplement with spirulina and chlorella. it's good to up your dark leafy green intake for nutrients and minerals.

I am gonna start doing these. I recently started working out this is my second time trying I tried last year but only did it for 3 months. Now I started again.it's just crazy how you lost so much in such a little time. I weight 170 and I'm 5'4 so I need to lose about 40 to 45 pounds and that is such a struggle for me. I have been working out but the eating part is the hardest. You are such an inspiration to me.

I love this! I started doing simple things for health such as going all natural with condiments! Ketchup, peanut butter, jelly, salad dressing etc. if you haven't tried any of that I seriously recommend it. They aren't big changes but nobody wants high fructose corn syrup and un-needed ingredients. 😁
Also, if you're going the more natural route... Try Himalayan pink salt. Twice as much punch as salt, but it's un-bleached and un-processed like regular table salt.

As a fellow veg head I find quinoa every a really great alternative for things like pasta or rice. Quinoa so good for everyone but especially vegetarians!!

Awesome video! You should totally try being vegan! If you go to a whole foods they have tons of options for vegan cheese, vegan pizza... Everything! I've been vegan for almost a year! Since the vegan diet is mainly plant based you can eat as much as you want and never have to worry about counting calories! It's amazing! I'm really strong and slender and it's changed my life. It'll make you feel amazing. I was vegetarian for over 7 years before I was vegan and transitioning into a vegan lifestyle made me the happiest and healthiest I've ever been! Xoxo

You inspired me to get a ninja blender and start making smoothies. I replace my breakfast with a smoothie that is similar to yours only I use almond milk and I do it without the chia seeds and I use pb2. I also make one after working out too. I added a peach tonight for the first time on top of everything else and it was so delicious. Oh my goodness. I've lost 38 pounds so far. I am on a 1200 calorie diet. It's amazing the cleaner you eat the more you can eat isn't it? I"m proud of you.

You should try Seapoint Farms wasabi dry roasted edamame. (they also have lightly salted) They are super good as a snack or in a salad for a crunch and packed with protein which is good since you don't eat meat!
Hey Shae! You look truly amazing these days ..not that you didn't before your weight loss but you're just glowing now! I just am curious as to why you chose going vegetarian for your weight loss. I have recently lost 30 pounds sticking to lean meats and veggies with minimal carbs (cant cut them out completely of course mama loves her carbs and your body needs them) plus exercise of course. It seems like carbs are a big part of your weight loss routine which has always seemed like the food group people tell you to cut down on for losing weight.. I would love to hear your input!

If you really love the sweet potato fries, use some coconut oil and paprika and cayenne pepper! I just bake them at 400 for like 20 mins

a healthier way to cook the sweet potatoes is to skin them and chop them up into small chunks and steam them using stainless steel pot. you can leave it in chunks after it's cooked or mash it up like baby food and add sea salt, cayenne pepper, cinnamon and optional butter. i tried making sweet potato fries and it was just too greasy and gross. you can also use food processor, add nuts with medjooled dates to make a pie crust then add sweet potato on top. smoothie is great for one meal. i drink a huge smoothie for breakfast now and i add kale. i also supplement with spirulina and chlorella. it's good to up your dark leafy green intake for nutrients and minerals.

I am gonna start doing these. I recently started working out this is my second time trying I tried last year but only did it for 3 months. Now I started again.it's just crazy how you lost so much in such a little time. I weight 170 and I'm 5'4 so I need to lose about 40 to 45 pounds and that is such a struggle for me. I have been working out but the eating part is the hardest. You are such an inspiration to me.

Woohoo good job shae! Vegetarianism is a huge accomplishment! Your doing the right things to weed out slowly to become vegan! I've been vegan for about a year! I have a few slip ups very rarely (cheese or dairy) but eggs and meat I'm completely done with and I never want them again! I will be back to give you some of my favorite vegan recipes!!

Balsamic vinegar is definitely a good clean addition to the pasta salad! It adds a kick without the crap found in normal salad dressings!
I love this! I started doing simple things for health such as going all natural with condiments! Ketchup, peanut butter, jelly, salad dressing etc. if you haven't tried any of that I seriously recommend it. They aren't big changes but nobody wants high fructose corn syrup and un-needed ingredients. 😁
What do you do for workouts? How long are your workouts? When do you eat snacks in between is it every 2-3 hours in between meals?
I like the pasta salad, so simple, definitely something for summertime
Also, if you're going the more natural route... Try Himalayan pink salt. Twice as much punch as salt, but it's un-bleached and un-processed like regular table salt.

Hey I just think you are so awesome:) but I do have a question, what do you do to beat cravings or late night cravings because I will literally crave salty and then sweet right after the other and especially late at night.
As a fellow veg head I find quinoa every a really great alternative for things like pasta or rice. Quinoa so good for everyone but especially vegetarians!!

Awesome video! You should totally try being vegan! If you go to a whole foods they have tons of options for vegan cheese, vegan pizza... Everything! I've been vegan for almost a year! Since the vegan diet is mainly plant based you can eat as much as you want and never have to worry about counting calories! It's amazing! I'm really strong and slender and it's changed my life. It'll make you feel amazing. I was vegetarian for over 7 years before I was vegan and transitioning into a vegan lifestyle made me the happiest and healthiest I've ever been! Xoxo

You inspired me to get a ninja blender and start making smoothies. I replace my breakfast with a smoothie that is similar to yours only I use almond milk and I do it without the chia seeds and I use pb2. I also make one after working out too. I added a peach tonight for the first time on top of everything else and it was so delicious. Oh my goodness. I've lost 38 pounds so far. I am on a 1200 calorie diet. It's amazing the cleaner you eat the more you can eat isn't it? I"m proud of you.

You should try Seapoint Farms wasabi dry roasted edamame. (they also have lightly salted) They are super good as a snack or in a salad for a crunch and packed with protein which is good since you don't eat meat!

Hey Shae! You look truly amazing these days ..not that you didn't before your weight loss but you're just glowing now! I just am curious as to why you chose going vegetarian for your weight loss. I have recently lost 30 pounds sticking to lean meats and veggies with minimal carbs (cant cut them out completely of course mama loves her carbs and your body needs them) plus exercise of course. It seems like carbs are a big part of your weight loss routine which has always seemed like the food group people tell you to cut down on for losing weight.. I would love to hear your input!
