DerMeisterXZ ill bite. daigo throws fireballs to study your reactions and movement patterns. he sets you up to put yourself in vulnerable situations without you realizing it. he's got over a decade of championships against the very best across a handful of games. also, you act like that's the only way he plays. idk pigofthehut but i hear he plays just mk, argues with other mk players, and complains about his characters on forums. it's also funny you bothered to compare them like any other country in the world gave a motherfuck about mk except the us and maybe a handful of dudes from france or some shit.
Well pig of the hunt is a VERY bad player he just plays broken characters with projectiles he doesn't know anything else to do that's why fox 3 - 0 him in Evo 2014 without even trying Daigo is a legend and honestly zoning in SF isn't as braindead as it is in mk or injustice
I wouldn't be suprised if Pig didnt know the fatality because he probably never wasted his time learning fatalities and only learned how to play his Kenshi in the middle of battle.
Just got this game a week ago and i love it. Its one of the few fighters that appeals to casual and competitive players. Unlike Capcoms competitive only fighters. It has so much content and multiplayer capabilities(love challenge tower and king of the hill). I was wondering if i ever wanted to try competitive play is Ermac a good character? I rlly like him. But idk if he might be bottom tier or something.
I honestly suck at MK, but love watching MK tournaments! Though I think I'd rather watch them with the game's music louder and absent comments all the time.. Kind of helps me focus better.
Can someone please help me? Do these guys get sponsored? I've been playing this alot since release, I had no idea MLG was even a thing for MK. How do I go about getting sponsored? Watching this video, I know I could win atleast 1 tourney. I have about 6k wins and 500 loss. I'm a brutal beast with Sub,Smoke,Cage,Scorpion. My only problem is, I'm on Xbox, I see that this years tourney is on PS3. I don't have a ps3. Do you guys think I would be okay playing on a PS3 at a tourney? The buttons are the same. I have friends with ps3 and I have no problem dominating them, but then again they don't play this game as seriously as I do. Opinions plz?
There are several games that offer sponsorship; including MK. Your best bet is to go to big tournaments and beat good players. You just have to get yourself out there. But FYI, you'd be surprised how different playing at tournaments is to playing with friends.
@kik0le I've played this guy on Xbox Live before and his true skill is like 42 or something. He's the real deal. He isn't playing with friends on xbox live, he is literally tearing down the opposition. Those are ranked matches. Frankly, tournaments would be easier to play than online because you don't have to adjust for lag. I'm pretty brutal with Scorpion, Raiden, Cyber Sub Zero, Liu Kang, and Cyrax myself.
Well, at tournaments, you have other factors to worry about like nerves or the feeling of being somewhere unfamiliar. It's tough to get used to tournaments and feel comfortable enough to play at your best right off the bat. But you should try your skills out at tournaments to get a better feel of where you stand. It's probably the most fun you can get out of playing the game.
If it is competitive, everything is allowed. If you win by spamming, you can do it. If you want to change that, create a new rule. Don't think that you can win these games ONLY by spamming.
+z ahio creating a new game like MKX that doesn't allow noobish spammers with no shame to win so often as to get them into the top 8 might work as well. And if you see 90% of the top 8 spamming than that makes your statement "don't think yo ucan win only by spamming" kinda false. However, that statement IS true when it comes to MKX, judging fro mthe fact that there aren't spammers in the top 8.... pig of the hut might and could be considered as a spammer, btu EVEN I call him a zoner when it comes to MKX, his reads, his abiltiy to know when and whatt o use... when to armor, and the way he mixes up his close and far gaem..... that takes technical skilsl and strategy, which is why he made it to the top in MKX....... notice that there are NO spammers in the top 8 of MKX.
Kenshi is quite possibly the best character for keeping people at range. He is also very good at lifts, considering he has three potential lifts, in xbox controls: (>Y, Y, X), his down back X attack, and his enhanced down back B. Kenshi, even controlled by a moderately skilled player who has the reflexes to use his deflect, will kill seasoned players that can't work well in air or teleport, (Jax, Baraka, in some cases Johnny Cage, Sub Zero, Nightwolf, Some cases LiuKang,)
SSJ3Goku2000 Striker is ass! The only characters that are worst than him are probably sheeva and kano. Even jade is better than him. Yes he hits hard, but his normals are so slow that he never hits anyone with them. And at this level ex-rays are just not an option, so he's left with his grenades, which are not that great...he sucks.
You're not being a prick. You're explaining it pretty well. It just pisses me off when people practice hard to learn the ins and outs of a character, and them someone who just throws projectiles manages to make it to the top 8. To me, it spits in the face of competition and skill.
I hate zoning its so cheap and unprofessional its just like using the same punch or kick like 5 times which the guys that beat tyrant did there is no skill in their playing really at all.
+anhaconda yeah mike tyson used the smae punch to win, because that punch always fuckin knocked people otu..... so they literalyl had to dodge it over and over again, and even like mike said "they'll eventually get caught" In the game the advantage clearly goes to the spammer, or else you woudn't see so many spammers in the top 8 lol. Gonna discuss some of the things about this game/techniques and discuss why some is justified and others may not be (not just taking one side here so maybe my comment will be interesting). I was, and still am when I can find people/the time, competitive at MK9. My record is ridiculously high online and I've "mastered" multiple characters (lol at giving credentials for a UA-cam comment). Point is, zoning CAN be something of a skill and not just 3 buttons over and over again. Let's take Cyber Sub-Zero for example, horrible zoner in general, but with the right mindgames/setups you can actually get a zone advantage on people who aren't Kabal (lol). The problem is two things, any high level community (and at one point and time I was a part of this community, at least in the online world) is toxic. They play the game to win and nothing else. Throw money into that equation and you're damn right I'll press thee buttons over and over again. For example, let's say Baraka was used in Top 8 (I defend a lot of low tier characters so forgive all my examples being lower tiered), if it was a Baraka vs. Kabal matchup or even a few others, you could just simply zone and unfortunately there's not much you can do in the matchup. People WOULD do this because there's money involved and the Baraka player, even if a BETTER player, would still more than likely lose. The second problem (which still stems from the first one in a way) is a lot of high level players (please refer to the fact that I say A LOT and not ALL) will pick a character based on tier, learn the best things they have to offer, and honestly that's it. They learn other characters just to see matchups but that's not actually LEARNING the character that's just learning how to punish the character. Why is this a problem? Because when you learn only the best and only the best things they can do, well it gets kind of dull to watch/almost spammy. So when you have the equation of elitist mindset, and money you have people who will do whatever it takes to win, and sometimes spam zoning is the option. Don't get me wrong though there truly is some awesome people here and I do think Perfect Legend has a phenomenal Kung Lao and I respect him sticking with him even after the nerf, but we also see that he can handle zoning and close kombat (even if using Kung Lao =P). This is why I (even though you can expect to see me at local and national MKX tournaments) respect and love online play, simply because of the variety you have in players/strategies/characters. People online do play for fun, and competitively, and if you play in that community you normally will learn more about your character than in a purely offline competitive community. For example in MK9 my MAIN main was Ermac, I know pretty much every string with him and plenty of combos/punishes with him. I was almost forced to use as many as I could find BECAUSE of the online community. When you face people of all ranges of skills/characters/and strategies you are forced to bring out unique ways to play your character. Anyway there's my two cents. Zoning =/= spam always but spam can = zoning to some.
+BigKMusicProductions yes there are skill ful ways to ZONE... pig of the hut proves this in MKX.... I say he proves this because normal hack spammer cunts can't make it very far in MKX because the games mechanics is made in such a way that allows for skillful players to beat spammers with skill... this is shown in the competions you see of MKX..... there just aren't any spammers who make it to the top 8 or 16...... pig of the hut could be considered one, but I don't i consider him a zoner, his reads are incredible, and he knows right when to use which move.. it seems in MK9 HOWEVER that spammign is rewarded.... judgign onthe fact that it seems like every MK9 comp video I see the top eight are just spamming over and over again......... just isn't like that in MKX tourny's. AND THANK GOD FOR THAT!
80% of the comments are by idiots and scrubs. The FGC is so spoiled nowadays. "Patch this, it's cheap!" "Ban spamming, it's unfair!" Learn match-ups and adapt!
I must admit I hate nearly all zonerz but pigofthehut doesn't bother me he looks like he really knows his characters zonging abilities and hand to hand kombat, and mixes it up so perfectly
"That zoning game with Kenshi is so strong" That zoning game with Kenshi is so cheap* I don't care what anyone says. That isn't how fighting games are meant to be played. It's cheap and there's no honor in playing like that. Fight like a man (or woman) not a little kid. Spamming/ zone spamming make for incredibly boring fights to watch.
I came here to see how mechanically clunky this game was (and man does it look worse than I remember), but I couldn't help but notice all the BLATANTLY obvious casual players commenting about "spamming" and "corner cheesing." First off, if you use either of those terms, you're literally telling everyone with a brain you don't know what you're talking about. If you think zoning is "spamming" you clearly don't know there are numerous ways around zoning, and it's up to YOU as a player to learn them. And if all of you honestly think you could even get out of pools in any fighting game at any major, you're horribly wrong. These guys were top notch in this game, and remain top notch in MKX. Whether or not zoning is boring is subjective. That does not mean, however, that it takes 0 skill. If you think that, try to zone against any pro player. Zoning isn't spamming, it's not "dishonorable" to zone, and there's no such thing as "corner cheesing." And to all the people like "upplsuckimcool16," please never touch a fighting game again. If the FGC is gonna bring in casual players, we want casuals that are willing to learn, not those who run around yelling "CHEAP SPAMMERS!"
+Clearzova I had someone in MKX just sit in one spot and block low with D'Vorah the second the fight started. If i tried to get in, they would just uppercut me, then sit and block again. So, i sat back with kitana and threw fans until they died from chip damage. Not to mention i've been corner trapped against both a highly skilled Tremor, and a less than impressive Goro player who just mashed the punch button like they were trying to jump start their heart. bottom line is, people need to be able to adapt. I beat the Goro and D'Vorah players, but didn't get a single win against the Tremor. I respected all the fights. That's what makes fighting games fun...getting over something obvious to snatch up the win in the end.
+Iceman 2020 There are a ton of ways to get in against crouch blocking. Just walk in with an over head, or run in and block cancel to bait his uppercut and punish. Kitana has plenty of options especially.
yeah i hope so and i know a great game to ad in mk10 as a dlc a game of all the characters and the revenge of whoever you pick you have like a selection of all the characters and you get to play a story mode of them.
its not like you can really chain combos with anyone besides reptile(he has a juggle one in a corner) and kung lou(just one decent one) mortal kombat is a very, very slow non-combo based fighter
Kenshi is straight up cheap, Idgaf what anyone says a he is easily the cheapest character. He's like noob but better, I don't enjoy watching a person spam 2 moves to win a match I'm sorry that you guys do.
Hey, I am planning on going to Evo 2013. Currently rank 39 with Dudley on xbox SSF4 AE. Are regular controllers allowed, or does it have to be a fight stick?
What the hell man? Striker and Scorpion? Seriously? Dude you was so awesome with Cage and Reptile, I really wanted to see Cage back in action. Thats a seriously let down.
That's how you play the character, its not cheap at all. In fact, to properly keep out one of these top level guys you have to be pretty much on point with your spacing and timing.
I love how every time they say "full combo" almost every time, they have to follow up with "oh he dropped it"
I was too young when I was playing this game every day. I wish I knew about esports and all of that because this is probably my favorite Mortal Kombat

Dude I can't even read the rest of the comment, but it seems great and I get the idea
Epic
"Oh wow!"
"Full combo..."
-These anouncers
EVO tournaments are annual, if im right, i've seen EVO 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 :]
this reminds me of how fast my fingers are when playing hotline Miami
I got dem fast fingers too ma ;)
LOL awesome crowd and lmao @ the player who didn't know how to do the fatality. xD
80% of the comments are by idiots and scrubs. The FGC is so spoiled nowadays.
"Patch this, it's cheap!" "Ban spamming, it's unfair!"
Learn match-ups and adapt!
This is still valid to this day
@@rayboone2106 indeed
Back when people weren’t butthurt about fatalities, now they call them toxic lol
Love Kabal but he really does break the game.
I must admit I hate nearly all zonerz but pigofthehut doesn't bother me he looks like he really knows his characters zonging abilities and hand to hand kombat, and mixes it up so perfectly
I know games have matchups but in that liu kang vs kenshi, there was like no chance to win for liu kng just because he didnt have a teleport move.
mmm it's like playing a good match against your opponent, and not trying to completely sweep right through them from what I understand
I swear if I hear "thats interesting" one more time im gonna lose my shit. This guy.
The stryker fight was just brutal to watch cuz u knew he was walking into a slaughter house
Agreed
"That zoning game with Kenshi is so strong"
That zoning game with Kenshi is so cheap*
I don't care what anyone says. That isn't how fighting games are meant to be played. It's cheap and there's no honor in playing like that. Fight like a man (or woman) not a little kid.
Spamming/ zone spamming make for incredibly boring fights to watch.
1 no one forces you to watch.
2 It is part of the game.
3 it has no honor to begin with it is just fighting game.
Rishi Jusia zoner noob confirmed
Dk Soulstice quit whining and just adapt you cry baby
Dk Soulstice welcome to MK9-
Oh c'mon! Kenshi can be screwed if you use a character with a teleport move, if you only use 1 character then go eat a ball of fuck!
I'd play this game, but I can't find a good controller setting on the fightstick that feels right.
Kitana has plenty of options especially.
ikr like the buttons aren't there for decoration haha
yeah i hope so and i know a great game to ad in mk10 as a dlc a game of all the characters and the revenge of whoever you pick you have like a selection of all the characters and you get to play a story mode of them.
i'm starting to think that mortal kombat players are only spammers
Adapt>Complain
I'm starting to think you can't fucking play at all. Or you're 15.
Cool Prizes
lol dont do dat
lol mad mortal spammers
zoning is not spamming, learn to play
Wish the audio wasnt off...
So cheap fighting is now called "zoning"? loooooool
perfect legend has inspired me to become better at kung lao
Are all the pro players just a bunch of spammers?
Yeah none of them have skill. That's why they're pro. (sarcasm)
cole houser except for emp legend that looked like pure skill to me on his first round.
cole houser shut up because all i saw from cd jr is spaming with cabal
its not like you can really chain combos with anyone besides reptile(he has a juggle one in a corner) and kung lou(just one decent one) mortal kombat is a very, very slow non-combo based fighter
terminallyCapricious
.... What? Slow. I'll buy it. But MK has a SICK combo system.
Oooooo que juegaso que mal queyya no alla casu nadie en online 😢😢😢
Que recuerdos cuando jugaba con Jhonny Cage

1:11:1
10:99 :1
What is the universal button layout for a fightstick?
Kenshi is straight up cheap, Idgaf what anyone says a he is easily the cheapest character. He's like noob but better, I don't enjoy watching a person spam 2 moves to win a match I'm sorry that you guys do.
how can I watch this without commentary I know its probably cool sometimes to have it but where can I hear just the sfx
Wow, look at the spamming whiners here. Bunch of scrubs.
very useful information. thank you sir
Bro i will rage quit with all that shoulder barging from kenshi
2019?
If the one commentator had said "Wow" one more time I would have eaten a bullet... Jesus Christ man! LMAO
Anyone on stage breathes: "WOW"
Hey, I am planning on going to Evo 2013. Currently rank 39 with Dudley on xbox SSF4 AE. Are regular controllers allowed, or does it have to be a fight stick?
Did you got to EVO 2013?
What the hell man? Striker and Scorpion? Seriously? Dude you was so awesome with Cage and Reptile, I really wanted to see Cage back in action. Thats a seriously let down.
I'm just getting into the fighting game pro scene, and I have one question. In general, how old are these guys? Just out of curiosity.
That's how you play the character, its not cheap at all. In fact, to properly keep out one of these top level guys you have to be pretty much on point with your spacing and timing.
am i going insane or is the audio a little off?
I love their awkward pause as they realise the camera cut to them.
The audio is off -__- Smh.
what are those things they use as a controller
what is a "respect"? Is it taking notice of the opponents advantage?
How do u play fighting games without blocking ?
is it only mine issue or for anyone else there is audio lag from like ~30min on
SICK Tournament man!!!!!!
what kind of controller is perfect legend using?
Fightstick
THIS IS GONNA BE INTERESTING!
What’s the song in the intro?
Nice dreams! I ll love to see them play it too =)
MIT won my heart pulling out the Reptile. Good stuff
Is there anywhere where I can find the stage lengths ranked?
true but if you get real good with him you can follow up that warp with a powerful combo
