Seth and James are honestly the best, most knowledgeable pair of fighting game commentators out there. I love these two and the dynamic they have between them.

What I like most about this is that Top 8 had, "either different characters represented, six different countries." That's the sign of a great game and a great community.

Glad you said that! Although it's a little less convenient finding the matches to watch, this way you can't tell when the match is going to end.
Plus it meant I didn't have to piss about cutting up the video ;)

See, I'd have loved to watch it live but in my timezone that would've been around 5-6 a.m. and I had to go to work today, so thanks for giving me the opportunity to come home after a long day of work and enjoy the EVO action i missed yesterday.

1.) Get comfortable with the controls
2.) Get comfortable performing the moves
3.) Get comfortable with making combos, super cancels, etc.
4.) Get comfortable with reading your opponent(think of SF as fast-paced chess)
5.) Get comfortable in the winner's chair ;)
Key Tip: you'll get better faster the more you play against human opponents and, most importantly, NEVER GIVE UP!!
I hope you enjoy this wonderful series ^_^

This is the best gaming event ever!!! It's time that ESPN starts to cover this thing. Seth Killiam, James Chen, and Ultra David can all get great jobs as commentators at ESPN!!! Any one of these top-eight players can easily make top-10 plays on Sports-Center. Get ESPN FOR EVO 2014!!!

A frame trap is a way of saying "If you do this you'll be able to hit the person if he attacks you" For example, in UMVC3 Vergil has a frame trap with his crouching M, if any of the cast tries to attack when they can after they block it, Vergil can hit crouching H and hit them before they can him. This is called a frame trap.

The beauty of Infiltration is that he plays Akuma so perfectly. He doesn't use zone tactics to win, doesn't want to just use mobility to stay out of attack range. He gets up in your fucking face like "DIE ONE THOUSAND DEATHS."

    Better way of saying it.
You do a move that get blocked, but if the person tries attacking you after the block stun wears off, you can do another move that will always beat out anything they attack with. It forces people to keep blocking certain moves in fear of getting put into a combo. Just type in "frame trap UMVC3" it shows you very clearly what they do. And yes, it's the same for all fighting games.

I haven't played TTT2 yet, but people seem to be really enjoying it right now. I'd wait a little bit to see if anyone finds anything hugely broken in it. At a guess I'd say it's probably not too hard to get into, or at the least, easy to have fun with.
SSF4AE is still a good game, and I'm sure you can pick it up for super cheap now. The game itself doesn't do a great job of teaching you how to play, but if you start off with Ryu, it's easy enough to pick up.

Try BB CS EX. The tutorial is a must for anybody who's completely new to modern fighters, it's especially designed to give new players a sense of how fast you need to input moves, which is what you need to learn if you don't want to end up smashing your console out of frustration. It's definitely raised my SF game. Don't know why Capcom with its piles of cash can't put together a measly tutorial...

Had I the money to get it on release, I would have been happy to have bought it. With the recent drop in HDD prices, I would have replaced the 80GB with something way bigger. My new experiment is to see whether or not the previous PS3 slim hardware will accept a Hitachi 2.5 7200 RPM 1 TB HDD. If it does, it will greatly reduce loading times, I'm sure.

That Adon was a fricken Beast out there. Adon Vs. Cammy was really good match. Akuma's Raging Demon was too much to overcome with those unsafe jaguar kicks. Eve 2012 was awesome except for Daigo choosing Ryu.

The closest match in the entire tournament was gamerbee vs Xiao Hai in semi finals. Most awesome match in the tournament was gamerbee vs daigo before top 8. Infiltrations matches would have been cool too, but he just pooped on everybody.
