You should put a 2 series front end on your 140 I’m sure a lot of people don’t know you can do a straight swap with just a bumper and headlights. Would be interesting to see 👍🏼
Looks so good, I’m thinking of getting a 240 or 235i next year for an upgrade. Debating whether or not to put a 140 front end on, generally prefer 2 series front but I like to be different.
@@techfreaks4134 no it‘s not the same as far as I know. The 40i‘s run the 8hp50z and the 435d the 8hp70z or something. Some people even swapped the gearboxes already to the diesel one but they run insane power figures so it‘s understandable

I just wanted to let you know a recent mod I have done to my car. Xhp flash tune for the gearbox. I am also running stage 2 ecu tune. But the gearbox tune is by far the most incredible difference I have seen. Just some food for thought
I doubt it. The M2 has wider fenders. You can easily see that by looking at the back. The bodywork sticks out way further beyond the lights on the m2 compared to the m240i

Simon Nelson I retro fitted the underbody brace on the M140 F20, also three door M140 also come with the brace: So will the 3 door M140 and 5 door M140 with the brace drive like the m240 ?
The 1 and 2 series are very similar, the chassis is a bit different but the reason they are so similar is because it basically is the same car in most ways. They just do 1 series and 2 series now instead of 1 series hatch and 1 series coupe (instead of 2 series) like before, but I'm sure you know that 😉
As well as my M140i which i have an converted to an AC Schnitzer including the power module, I have a tuned Golf GTI Pirelli. I know that with my golf i had the DSG remapped because it would not allow the full use of the torque the tuned engine would produce. How much torque does the ZF8 cope with before you need to remap it> Mine is running about 600nm.

@@robertgladstone5194 i watched a vid of a strip down of the zf 8 speed and the guy just said the max torque the gearbox could take is 1050nm. So i guess that is figure before you start wrecking internals, but we all know you can still wreck a box with well under that max figure.

Philip Hawkins exactly. There’s more to a car than leak power. The OG M2 sounds ace with the N55 and Comp has more room for power given it’s running a proper M engine in detuned form. Plus they look way better with those arches.

The real question is how is a young guy like him who is clearly from a council estate able to afford a £20k car plus £5k of modifications and 2k insurance (probably for him)? Where on earth has he got upwards of £30k from? Again, even if it’s on finance it’s still a £400 to £500 car a month, his credit score would have to be immaculate and high, his annual salary would have to be minimum £25k a year and he would have put down a few grand down on deposit. Ultimately I don’t understand it, but fairplay to him.

EL m240 or through twisties. I’ve been on track in both. Felt like I was going to die in the m140i, m2 is far better tied down, but I will agree that the b58 is a monster of an engine. The M2 n55 sounds better but doesn’t have the tuning potential out of the box. Straight line is one thing but through bends stock to stock.... M2 destroys the M140/240 package, It is in a different league round a track stock to stock, But yea you could spend a fair few K on a 140 or 240 and it might be as quick........ but you’ll never see that money again.

i mean did you consider coilovers? sway bars? upgraded end links? control arms? tires? rims? or just leave it stock and say it falls apart in the corners
@@beantownhero617 this guy is driving the N55 engine so he doesn't even feel the power of the B58. If you give the m240i power it also needs cornering tuning rims, tires and of course the stiffness settings. Than it can bit only stay with a M2C but it may pass it.

theres a reason why the gearbox has a torque limiter, you need to check how much torque the gearbox is okay to handle
Gearbox can handle it. Torque is limited to stop insane wheelspin.
Lifes too short to stay stock, get tuned.
If it's say the same gearbox I got in my staged 2 mapped bmw 435d, then trust me it handle it no problem

It’s ok to handle way more then factory ! 800hp no problem. It’s the engine you have to worry about.

Pops and bangs are stage 1 plus. I guess for better sounds you need a good full exaust too and a downpipe at least

XHP is simply amazing! It’s more impressive then MHD or the DME tune. Without XHP the transmission is sleeping

That's way too many pops, kind of annoying to hear that many as you're slowing down. Hopefully you can turn it off or tone it down when ever you want.
