The Only Country with No National Team

Every UN recognized country has a national team competing in football // soccer, except for one, but they are trying to change that. It’s not easy meeting FIFA requirements to be a national team, especially when you don’t have a lot of space to work with, but maybe just if you plan it right, the last national team on earth can finally get on the field.
It’s fascinating to think about a place in the world that CAN’T see their best players taking the field to compete. It seems like such as staple in the world we live in, in this corner of UA-cam specifically that trying to actual create a national program doesn’t seem like something anyone would ever have to consider. I for one am rooting for them.
Much Love,
The Zealand

They need to play San Marino for their international debut
We laugh at San Marino in UEFA, but they'd annihilate most of the non-federation countries tbh
San Marino would absolutely annihilate any of the pacific nations. They only occupy the bottom rank so often because they have to compete in Europe all the time
@@defeatstatistics7413 they would definitely be better than a lot of FIFA teams outside of Europe and the Americas
Even some minor caribbean teams, and I really mean minor would be at the approximate same level, considering they have similar population, similar professional status and these islands would care more for cricket than football (unlike San Marino, but Italy's right next door anyway)
I think they'd put a shellacking on MI
@André Diniz so I used to keep track of non-federation international teams a bit when Gibraltar were still in the process of joining UEFA, and Gibraltar were regularly putting double figures past teams like Greenland and Isle of Wight. San Marino would do the same to teams like that.
Yes, thanks for listening to my suggestion. On my own research, I found that it will be easier for the Marshall Islands to become FIFA members than countries like Tuvalu and Kiribati, who are members of OFC but not FIFA, because the Marshall Islands have hotels whereas Tuvalu/Kiribati don't
Marshall Islands vs Nauru sounds saucy
I don't know how to get in touch with this writer or anything like that, but I was just for this writer and other people that are looking to get this going, look at Springdale Arkansas. I live about 25 minutes from the city and it has the largest Marshallese population inside the United States. We even have a consulate for this country in that town. We have dual Nationals that live in that town and they could easily join the federation. So they can probably train in Springdale and eventually fly over to play.
You teased me then, you got me thinking armchair history was coming back😢
Ona positive note, I donated & see three other donations in the last 10 minutes of your video being out.
Zealand saves.... has gone to a new level
I recently watched some of your older content for some FM tips. Your evolution in a few years is amazing. This is some quality shit. Keep up the good work!
A video about Greenland's footballing scene would also be very interesting
Honestly, the Pacific Islands might as well establish a joint-football team for FIFA & OFC Matches. Certainly it would make more sense than having dozens of little teams that lose every game.
More like the West Indies for Cricket
@@thapelomatula1856 That's a gold example of why such joint-teams make perfect sense in sport.
@Mr S You ever watched Brain4Breakfast's "How to win the world cup?" I recall him talking about this topic. Like how Yugoslavia benefited.
@@Bagster321 R.I.P. Brain 4 Breakfast. First countryball UA-camr I watched and still my favourite.
The whole point is to represent YOUR nation. Don’t think Marshallese people would choose representing the oceanic islands over representing their own island.
Neat video, Zealand! I'll take off my FM hat and put on my history professor hat for a moment...
The other "solution" to this issue for the Marshallese is that thousands of them live in the United States because of weapon test evacuations. They live in Hawaii and also, interestingly, Springdale, AR and Oklahoma! These are places with soccer infrastructure already! Now, Springdale itself is a really interesting place for soccer, as it's a heavily Hispanic town due to chicken processing factories in a mostly white corner of the state.
Anyway, keep up the good work. Don't give up on Armchair History, either!
Thanks so much for this great video. Loads of donations coming in because of your short film. Justin (Marshall Islands Press Director)
If I may suggest something for those who want to learn more about the Marshall Islands and the city of Majuro, I would like to suggest looking up Wendover Productions' "The Final Years of Majuro" which talks about the problems the country is facing, the diaspora of Marshallese, the history of the islands as nuclear testing sites (and why some are still too radioactive to go back to), and why there's an office of the Consulate of the Marshall Islands in Arkansas. It's about 65 minutes but a great documentary, IMO.
I hope you make a video about Greenland and their national team's project one day. It's a beautiful story that needs to be told and shared more.
Didn't he go there a few months ago ? He might already be working on that.
Great video! I learned something new so thank you very much. Best wishes to the Marshall Islands in their quest for national team status!
Thank you for going over this, I’ve been following it for a while and was about time you done it ❤
I've come to expect this sort of excellence in reporting from you, Z. What I didn't expect was that snapping ability. Your rig is strong, or you just got skillz homie.
Just checked: football (soccer) field is 7140 m2, baseball area is over twice that much. So if they can accommodate baseball fields in Marshall Islands, they can fit football pitch as well
These videos are excellent, keep up the brilliant work.
That Scotland shirt is a thing of beauty
Yokwe. So excited to see football in the Marshall Islands. 🇲🇭 🏝 🤙
I played amateur football for my school in the US. I'd be happy to acquire dual Marshall Island citizenship to try out for their national team. Isn't that what some players for Qatar did lol.
Never herd of the place till i seen this video so thankyou zealand learn something new every day!
I talked about this on the radio not so long ago! Things are going to be changing soon for them, some encouraging signs already from what I’ve read!
08:23 I love you and your editor for this
"tuvalu, smallest counry in the world" got me dead💀
This would be a really cool building a nation save in the future
Donated, great video as usual Z!
Love the jersey big man it suits you. Mon the Scotland 🏴
Hey Man great vid.
You're unlikely to see this as I'm a bit late to the party!
There's a great book called "Up Pohnpei" by Paul Watson.
A really similar story about the Micronesian island of Pohnpei. If you're a bit hard up, I can send you my copy 😂
Z, please keep feeding these stories to my brain cells.
Hitc Seven's made a fantastic video on the Marshall Island's a few years back
8:22 Wtf did I just see happen 😭😭😭
Reminds me of that business guy from the simpsons who always would make that noise and say your fired 😭💀
"See that bit with all the water?" He says over the Pacific ocean
lol how is it that i just learn you are a history guy. I have to check that podcast asap
Thanks for visiting all these stadiums
Just donated some money, i hope for the best for the people of this nation💪🏻
"It's our fault. Usually is". Only a few sentences could be more true than that one lol. Amazing video btw!
bro Vatican City playing home game must be tough.💀
Amazing video Z!
Zealand video w the morning coffee W
Can't wait to start a Marshall Island save in FM
If I remember correctly the country of Nauru doesn't have a national soccer team either.
loving the top bro
And what about Nauru? It seems they also haven't had an official national team yet?
Yknow there’s a country called Sealand? Looking for a manager currently… Great article in The Atheltic about them
Time to go on a family holiday to the Marshall Islands for 3 months before my son is born 👀
Lloyd Owers is my brother in law, still find it crazy I know an important figure in such an awesome project, he’s very passionate about it
My man represents, respect🏴🏴
Where is that United States of America clip of his from? It’s so funny!
Honestly seeing the images of the island capital and other reef islands I would feel scared as hell of living there. It feels like an unusually high tide may be enough to sink the whole place! Forget about tsunamis that would be overkill!
Not me thinking about packing up and applying to be a coach in the Marshall Islands
Zealand I need you to post on the live channel pls it's the only thing keeping me going
Okay, how hard is it to get Marshalles Citizenship?
Wanna join the national team ? Where do you play ?
@@5minutemovies977 I'm from Germany. Quite a bit away lol

Brooo you are amazingly funny but thanks for your work. Great
Nice top mate 🏴👌
This is an amazing software for check printing highly recommend to all.
Your spotify links don't seem to be working.
oh i‘m checking out that history podcast
They have a national team now actually
Would they really need a big stadium if their land is limited? surely there are rules regarding this?
I met a guy from the Marshall Islands once in Taiwan. Life. He got bored of Taiwan and went back to his islands.
Father of the year decided to do a build a nation save irl
You think one day New Zealand will follow New Zealand into the afc. That would mean one country. Most likely Fiji could qualify for the World Cup
I don't think that's ever going to happen... it'd be a pretty stupid thing to do.
@@nathanpollard1223 it could happen but i doubt that it would becuase now that nz have an automatic ofc qualification spot, i doubt that they'd leave. the most fiji could get would be a playoff qualifciation tournament which is very respectable, but it will most likely go to solomon islands or new caldeonia
Subscribed for the top 😂🏴
I see Zealand wearing a Scotland top, I like the video. It’s easy as that 🏴
I support Oxford City so its interesting to see our old staff taking an interest in this
just imagine you kicked the ball with so much shot power it went to the ocean and it was the last one left in the island😅😂😅😂😅😂
You should make a video about Greenland
that would now be a nice safe to start a game as national coach 😂
Build a nation save with the marshal islands will be epic on fm 😂
i once met someone online who lived in the martial islands...
This is gonna be about the Marshall Islands yooooo
new upload lets go

While he loves doing The history podcasts, they take a lot of research and so far, he is only releasing like one annually. Maybe someday it will be more active and warrant a new YT channel. In the meantime., you can listen to the above links on Spotify or Apple podcasts.
@@Mombot_z how long can you really keep playing football manager, although it is fun, it is bound to get old at some point.
@@t.c.4321 Some of his chat on Twitch have played since 1990's, crazy right. lol. Seems like most streamers burn out on streaming it after 5+ years, if not before. Z still loves playing and I don't see him stopping anytime soon .....unless they choose not to update the graphics, that does seem to drive him crazy😵💫🤣. What coaching badges does Zealand have? Was he not considered for this position?
I like the shirt Z!
Loved this video, and looooved the Qatar joke 😂😂
The country is the Marshall Islands. Skip to 1:01 if you want to know more
Hi Zealand.
Hoping to find you in good health.
I'm a big fan of your work , and we share our "hobby" of playing FM.
I use the '22 version , and started a career with Toulouse on the French 2nd League..
I've chosen to start with a weak coaching stats.
We are now on our 3rd straight season(out of 6) on Ligue 1 , and made a huge (in my opinion) qualification for the Conference League.
Almost half-way through the season , we are struggling for good results in the league , maybe for an excess of rotation on the starting elevens... The campaign on the Conference League is more or less positive , maybe needing a win out of two matches.
I believe it's hard to repeat the 6th place of last season , so i'm not thinking on making a big investment on winter window market...
Theoretically , what's your advice?
Waiting on your reply. Big hug.
When I read this, I thought it was going to be about Greenland. The attempts to get them recognised as an international football team are interesting. They've been repeatedly rejected for not being an independent country, despite the fact that other non-independent territories like Gibraltar are part of UEFA.
Gibraltar also got rejected initially, but took UEFA to court and successfully argued that there's really no difference with them accepting Gibraltar and accepting England. England isn't an independent country, doesn't have it's own government, is just part of the larger United Kingdom - but if they're part of UEFA, then so should Gibraltar. Which has actually opened the door for other parts like the Channel Islands to start thinking about joining UEFA.
Greenland isn’t a country, so thats probably why
They have a non-FIFA affiliated national team, like the Vatican.
If the channel islands got accepted into uefa we’d lose the back door (pun intended) that allowed the likes of Graeme Le Saux to play for England
I thought it was because the rule changed after Gibraltar first applied (because Spain didn't want Gibraltar as a member) therefore the court decided that they had to be evaluated on the old rules, which don't say that it has to be sovereign.
@@croissantpowergibraltar and england aren't independent countries
Who would be eligible for these country's
Uhhhh wut about Nauru
The olympics for the pacific is the pacific games. The micronesian games is for the subregion of micronesia.
the United States of America scream is far and away the greatest part of every video its included in
Damn alright
Technically Micronesia don't have a Football (soccer) Federation either.
Also why does Zanzibar have one if they don't play in the qualifications for the World Cups?
They need to play san Marino for their international
San Marino would annihilate them.
i dont wanna do their kit, but i would play for them :D
Such a shame seeing these islands disapear with time...
I'm now from the Marshall Islands
🇲🇭

I’d love to be on the history pod
I will send a email to training and improves his football (yes, football, not soccer). A Brazillian guy like me could helps a lot.
Tuvalu is not the smallest country in the world, Vatican City is.
Nauru have a national team?
