I love this. I just subscribed last night. Watched a bunch of your videos. Im a Michigan girl based near the sleeping bear dunes. Im also an avid camper for decades. How awesome to sleep on the boat. I love that little boat. How perfect. Gonna watch a bunch more of your videos. Im really enjoying your content. Cheers from subcriber 4000 something. lol
Great rig for small boat camping. Thanks for sharing that. Hoping to travel down from Lake Champlain to the Hudson River and out the Erie, and seeing how folks do small boat overnights is encouraging.
Maybe its because I spend so much time fishing, but this seems like it would drive me insane. Around or after sunset I would have to get off and walk around before settling back in for the night. The concept of sleeping on the water is actually kinda cool though. Would you call this dingy boat you have one of the better and cost effective options for a solo adventurer? I've spent a lot of time in my bass boat but these adventures you go on are calling my name!
Oh yeah. The zodiac is the master of the sea - can handle any sea, stable, cramped, but has a capacity of 2,800 lbs, hard to sink. Slow as hell (32 mph with a 60hp) and rough ride. Long mileage on a single tank - like pushing a balloon. Cost effective - the boat is about $6,500 new. Did a whole video on it. ua-cam.com/video/ZL6-7V0Uat4/v-deo.html
Hey Rob, Thanks! It is a Zodiac Futura Mark III, 15' Long, 6'9" wide, it weights 256lbs, approved for 9 persons or 2,882 lbs of capacity. It has a max HP of 60, though they recommend 50hp. I did a video a while back about the boat and equipment. ua-cam.com/video/ZL6-7V0Uat4/v-deo.html
@@RestlessVikingI'll have to check it out. I've had my 15' StarCraft aluminum runabout in Lake Huron a couple of times, I'm not a good enough mariner to feel comfortable doing that though. Keep the vids coming, they're a nice escape.
I worked for a short time on the harriman it was a steam ship i shoveled coal and quit pdq but i shoveled coal on a steam ship you wont meet many others
This was a fun video, Chuck. I've been watching a lot of your work lately, and I appreciate you inviting me along on your adventures.
When I drink alone, I prefer to be by myself.
Anchored here on my Dads boat in about 1970. Family vacation.
cool adventure again. I might have seen that ship cottage on the hgtv channel, Had owners talking about it and gave a tour.
Hey Viking! We were there at Harbor Island swimming with the snakes about an hour before you arrived that day. Small world!
Small World Indeed!
Thats camping champ!!! I love it! I gotta say this is your best one yet!! Love the shelter on the zodiac!!

Welcome Jacqueline. Glad to have you here!
Bushmills and Ramon 🤗
😄🙂
I did paddle a tandem canoe out there a few times. But did not spend the night. It is a beautiful place.
Thank you for pronouncing "DeTour" correctly. My channel has gotten 100,000 of views from that boat launch you started out at.
Was that Stan Roger's? I heard on that. Sea shanty song. Thank you for taking us on your adventures
MSR Pocket Rocket and Ramen! Just like backpacking without the walking! Ha!
You inspired me, last night I spent the night at harbor Island in my 20 foot sea Ray cuddy cabin, came down from the soo, beautiful spot.
Very cool! It looked to be a good night for it.
Good times!

That will be an awesome trip!
It will help to keep the damp off
The John Sherwin currently has no plans. Even the higher ups at Interlake do not know
did you wear Poppins' head net, to protect yourself from bugs?
No First Mate Poppins?! Maybe the head accommodations were too rustic?
When it gets too rustic, Poppins finds other adventures. ;-)
If they WERE to make an Edmund fitzgerald movie, the sherwin would be the perfect candidate
Camped at harbour island when I was about 12 in a 20’ sailboat so more room than your boat

Would you mind if I share your video with the fb page "Fans of Ships"? We were just talking about the John Sherwin!
Mandi Foreman - please do. I’ll check out the fb page!
👍👍😎
Another great video, thanks for taking us along for the adventure. What are the specs on your Zodiac?

Why does the boat have two lengths? One you give to the coast guard and the other you use for income tax and insurance purposes? 🤣

How did you not get eaten alive by mosquitos?
Ah, a we bit of the ole spirits

Don't fish. Bathroom in a bottle or head to shore.
