Whether I actually buy the selector is up in the air, I play 3 gacha's so I need to be careful on my spending ...probably gonna stop getting the monthly card for one of the other games and I'm no longer getting a battlepass for any of the games so I think I will.

The reed alter yellow certificate store option should be coming some time next year (at least if arknights' 5.5 year tradition of doing things exactly as on CN wont be broken somehow, but i highly doubt it) Iirc march might be the predicted time for her banner.
My top pick would be Exec-Alter if he wasn't getting a rerun soon, so now its between Muelsyse(meant I'll be pulling, forgot she's not in selector pool) and Eunectes purely for their character and theme songs. I don't really *need* any operators.

Pot 5 bagpipe is the most game changing 6 star since she decides what you can do early in stages, it unlocks so many extra strategies and she never leaves my roster

I think you've got some pretty solid choices, though I will make a case for best and hungriest doggo Kay: With her level 3 module, she becomes the uncontested queen of DPS for high end content. The stacking damage vs high defense and the amount of hits she inflicts for scaling it is utterly absurd and she was the key to keeping your sanity during DOS. I do also support picking Lin because her immortality niche for mid-tier damage is incredibly useful in many events, easily seen in the previous CC where she ignores all the difficult mechanics. I'll also throw in that Kal's strength is having a 3-block unit that can dish out disgusting amounts of True Damage on command, which is a blessing vs. dodging clowns like Andoain and even Babel units. Finally, Jessica can reveal invis in more ways than SA can with her lvl 1 module, it just depends on the skill you choose. She can also change direction temporarily using her shield, which is pretty useful. I am an SA-enjoyer myself but with Ines and Jess, he's much more of a raw heli-dropper unless the map is really crawling with invis dudes.
As a 5.5 year Doktah and basically have most of the regular 6 star Ops, I think I will just pick the ones I am missing just for collection sake or Story Lore sake
To my knowledge (I also checked because I was confused by that statement) you can not get Mudrock from recruitment. From the characters you have an interest in getting that are in the recruitment are Mostima, Silverash, Blaze and Bagpipe but no Mudrock Wouldn't rely on that anyway the top operator tag will not appear often and then you maybe don't have the right tags. I am free to play so I won't buy that anyway but i would realy like a Reed Alter or Lin They are always on a banner when I am saving pulls :(
yea was super confused by being told that mudrock could be gotten from recruitment and yes! those 2 ALWAYS show up when i'm actively trying to save, or have already spent my pulls

If you are the sweatiest of sweats the most impactful 6* ops in the game are this: 1) Bagpipe, Skalter, Ines 2) Goldenglow, Mudrock, Typhon Everyone else is technically replaceable. That being said, I think people should always take ops they like more than anything else.
Hypothetically (because I ain't spending 30$, my budget is the monthly) either Ines or Jessica Ines is strong, useful, pretty AF, and I'm comfortable bending the rules of Sarkazknights for her And Jessica... I just _really_ like Jessica
Ines is unquestionably the best operator in the game if you aren't 100% DPS-rotted. She has thighs for days, reveals invis, slows by 30% in dagger range, binds on hit, is semi-fast redeploy, generates DP like a champ and is definitely totally a real Sarkaz so she can be on our Sarkaz teams. For realsies. Jessicat is also cool and reveals invis with lvl 1 module, with her skill choice deciding if it's a 2x3 reveal during activation or a 3x1 reveal. Plus she can change direction temprarily using her shield. Both are great choices but Ines does get a fantastic new skin with the new patch.
I used ines along with an e1 cantabille. Ines is stronger but is not a helidrop bomber like kafka or texas alt. I bmhave bagpipe so i can use agent or cantabille. I lack strong defenders so jessica and later on free saria is looking needed right now. I only have an e2 gummy.

Honestly, between Reed and Lin, I've found Lin to be more useful. Reed is undeniably the queen of IS4, but in other content, I've found myself reaching for Lin a lot more often.
As a person with max potential Lin, I’d honestly still suggest reed alter. Lin is good, but like, you won’t be using her everywhere. Reed alter can be used in a lot of places. Like a lot more places, she’s like so generally good at a LOT it’s crazy. Either way whoever you pick someone is bound to spook you again just to spite you lmao
This is such a hard choice… I’m stuck between Murdock/penance (my only 6* def is hoshi) or pozemka because I lack snipers (I only got Ela) or maybe golden glow( but I got ceobe) idk I’m stuck here
Selector is heavily dependant on your current account condition (if you care about gameplay, if waifu reason then go ahead) hoshi is a damn good defender, def wise, but she cant consistently hold lane so if you have sufficient lane holder then you can put penance and mudrock aside. Unless you have blemishine then those two is priority. Then if you have sufficient physical damage you can put pozy aside because for drones 5* and ela is enough. The that leave GG. If you need boss killer pick pozy but if you need crowd control you pock GG. gg is an amazing unti with a beast skill of crowd control
I'm split between Exec-alter (My playstyle favors the self-heal types), Thorns (Rolled every banner he was on, he dodged me), Passenger (I'm missing a good chain caster and relying on Skyfire/Mostima as AOE casters, but it's lacking, and Passenger's skill 3 is very neat), and Mylnar (for obvious reasons, but I'm not a fan of his playstyle, just meta pick). Unfortunately skipping Hosi because Shu and Horn do enough with Flametail/Myrtle (Opening vanguards, FT S3 = 3 block, Myrtle on skill = +1 block to Flametail, when needed, before rotating to something more feasible like La Pluma, best girl/Zuo Le, go no further this road is closed type beat). I would reconsider Bagpipe for initial DP shove, look into "Flagpipe" stuff. Bagpipe also makes for a good helidrop that refunds full cost, gains DP on kill (more with module), and a good Shu pre-emptive field spreader as a helidrop.
With yellow certs, they come out following release order for the most part, and they usually introduce one new operator to the yellow cert shop each month-ish. We just got Horn as a new yellow cert so after that the order is roughly: November - Irene December - Ebenholz January - Dorothy Febuary - Pozemka March - Mlynar April - Stainless May - Penance June - Reed July - Lin

As someone who uses primarily Abysal Hunters, I dont really have any must pulls from this selector. I could go Lee because fish, but I also wanna grab Blemishine for a sleep team. Do i wanna spen $30 on them though? Not really.
I'm picking Typhon. I actually pulled on the double banner with her on it and ended up getting Saileach that I wanted so why not Typhon? Already have Ines and Reedic. I could get Mylnar but meh.
So....ive no idea whos on the free selector but id choose quibai or fiametta (i have both thier skins already) If the free ones are further back then eyjafyalla cause i still dont have her or bagpipe but at least I can TRY to get bagpipe in recruitment.
Blaze is very solid but not much interaction outside of put down and forget. Mudrock + Penance are pretty much the same though I prefer Mudrock a lot more personally, Penance needs a bit of a build up but is overall better then Mudrock when she does most of the time. Reed is veeery good in IS and can work really well else where especially against multiple weak enemies she just shreds them with S3 and S2 is the bomb most of the time. Mountain is pretty much the king of laneholding most of the time since you can just leave him alone with S2 to solo most lanes for only 11 DP. Personally I want Goldenglow but I just pulled Logos so torn if I actually need her but she's dodged me for so long...

if you go into recruit, and click 'instructions' and scroll down, you can see mudrock is not on the 6 star top operator pool. they are adding blemishine tomorrow, I do not know if they ever add mudrock to the pool. what they do, is they put the old ops into the kernal pool which rotate and every 7 weeks you get a kernal selection where you can put the operator in the shop for 180 distinctions. which has a new pool, where operators will cycle thru the shop roughly once per year due to pool size. mudrock was in the shop at the turn of may to june. 2024. 5 months ago, she'll probably be in the shop for 180 distinctions in the next 7 months. getting 180 distinctions is not a big deal for someone who knows how to play, usually doing a limited banner 300 pulls I easily get ...maybe even twice that. the problem is SAVING 180 distinctions and not burning them on pulls. but if mudrock is worth a 30 dollar selector to you. she should be worth holding onto 180 distinctions for 8 months. Lin or Reed, I would say are much better options to pick up from the selector. Reed being more useful for more content, and LIn when she is useful shes ...needed. whereas Mudrock you probably will pick up around june from the shop.
I'd super recommend Goldenglow. I picked her up off the shop a couple months ago and she just does everything well, plus some things that nobody else can do. She's carried so many IS runs for me. Also cute.
If you don't mind me asking, why do you think so highly of Blaze? I like Blaze myself, but I always hear that she's fallen off or not as good of a pick as she used to be. So, I'm mostly just curious about your perspective.
I personally would really like her for her skill 2 because i love having strong "set n forget" type characters, that's why I love thorns. But I also just really want a 6 star centurion. I do plan on trying for gavial alter, but I still would like that blaze skill 2 either way.
I myself struggle really hard bevause i desperately want like 8 of them. Reed alter will be buyable so thats at least one taken care off. And the free 6* selector on pepe event should have thorns so another one down. That leaves me with typhon, kal'tsit, irene, fiametta, horn, golden glow, mlynar, executor alter. And for pure waifu reasons jessica alter and ceobe. Most likely it will be a battle between kal, typhon and executor alter. But i also kind of want irene 😅
I understand the appeal of her visual design and kit , but you have the two best caster (until Logos arrives) , and there is very few instances where Lin will fit rather than the other caster. I honestly feel that Mudrock would be your best pick amongst these top one you placed on that category, and thats even if you get Penance, they can somewhat play a similar role, but their kit plays differently and one is physical (Mudrock) and the other is arts (Penance) , aoe afk stun dps is a Quality of life., its litteraly spin to win! (Mudrock S2) . Fiammetta is one of the operators I pulled a lot on her banner just to get her because I thought her kit was so good....and in practice she's just worst than Ifrit in the sense that not as many stage allow for her best skill to be used properly...so when I used her , I was just forcing it just because I wanted to use her, but eventually stopped using her because she is never the better options, even for stage where her best skill has the perfect placement :/ . As for Reed Alter , Yeah very good pick, for Is4 ,shes a goddess in there , or the R6 stages lol. I agree overal with the other ones you placed in the second category, Blaze is unique in how she works with her S2 , imo and she's very meta for that alone, + talent and status resist. The few one i think could have fitted in the same category as her is Suzuran and Gnosis , while buffing is generally better for dps , Gnosis has strong CC that most enemies don't have immunity to (Cold/Freeze) and he apply a big fragile debuff to frozen enemies , and half as strong for cold one. He's definitely niche but can enable fun shenanigans that makes certain run a joke. He's also godtier for IS4 (anything that slows or prevent movement is in that content). And Suzuran also has a fragile debuff , albeit much lower (but more consistently applied) and her slow is rather good with both S3 and S2 , maybe their design does not appeal to you , but their kit would definitely bring something new to your roster (unless you're quite the pro at using Ela's fragile debuffing mine ,or fully built Shamare's S2 up to m3, these are the go to for fragile debuffing and CC. :)
i regret not picking mudrock. I chose ines, and lines isn't bad, but she has no place on my team at the moment. Mudrock has had one of my favorite designs forever but something in me decided that I didn't need to pull her, because shed probably get a banner soon. No banner for the next six months :(

Unfortunately skipping Hosi because Shu and Horn do enough with Flametail/Myrtle (Opening vanguards, FT S3 = 3 block, Myrtle on skill = +1 block to Flametail, when needed, before rotating to something more feasible like La Pluma, best girl/Zuo Le, go no further this road is closed type beat).
I would reconsider Bagpipe for initial DP shove, look into "Flagpipe" stuff. Bagpipe also makes for a good helidrop that refunds full cost, gains DP on kill (more with module), and a good Shu pre-emptive field spreader as a helidrop.
Reed Alter won’t be on yellow certs for a while 😂. Lin and Reed came out kinda back to back events so their yellow cert viability is the same.
With yellow certs, they come out following release order for the most part, and they usually introduce one new operator to the yellow cert shop each month-ish. We just got Horn as a new yellow cert so after that the order is roughly:
November - Irene
December - Ebenholz
January - Dorothy
Febuary - Pozemka
March - Mlynar
April - Stainless
May - Penance
June - Reed
July - Lin

Blaze is very solid but not much interaction outside of put down and forget. Mudrock + Penance are pretty much the same though I prefer Mudrock a lot more personally, Penance needs a bit of a build up but is overall better then Mudrock when she does most of the time. Reed is veeery good in IS and can work really well else where especially against multiple weak enemies she just shreds them with S3 and S2 is the bomb most of the time. Mountain is pretty much the king of laneholding most of the time since you can just leave him alone with S2 to solo most lanes for only 11 DP. Personally I want Goldenglow but I just pulled Logos so torn if I actually need her but she's dodged me for so long...

if you go into recruit, and click 'instructions' and scroll down, you can see mudrock is not on the 6 star top operator pool.
they are adding blemishine tomorrow, I do not know if they ever add mudrock to the pool.
what they do, is they put the old ops into the kernal pool which rotate and every 7 weeks you get a kernal selection where you can put the operator in the shop for 180 distinctions.
which has a new pool, where operators will cycle thru the shop roughly once per year due to pool size. mudrock was in the shop at the turn of may to june. 2024. 5 months ago, she'll probably be in the shop for 180 distinctions in the next 7 months.
getting 180 distinctions is not a big deal for someone who knows how to play, usually doing a limited banner 300 pulls I easily get ...maybe even twice that.
the problem is SAVING 180 distinctions and not burning them on pulls.
but if mudrock is worth a 30 dollar selector to you. she should be worth holding onto 180 distinctions for 8 months.
Lin or Reed, I would say are much better options to pick up from the selector. Reed being more useful for more content, and LIn when she is useful shes ...needed.
whereas Mudrock you probably will pick up around june from the shop.

I'd super recommend Goldenglow. I picked her up off the shop a couple months ago and she just does everything well, plus some things that nobody else can do. She's carried so many IS runs for me. Also cute.

If you don't mind me asking, why do you think so highly of Blaze? I like Blaze myself, but I always hear that she's fallen off or not as good of a pick as she used to be. So, I'm mostly just curious about your perspective.
I personally would really like her for her skill 2 because i love having strong "set n forget" type characters, that's why I love thorns. But I also just really want a 6 star centurion. I do plan on trying for gavial alter, but I still would like that blaze skill 2 either way.
I myself struggle really hard bevause i desperately want like 8 of them.
Reed alter will be buyable so thats at least one taken care off.
And the free 6* selector on pepe event should have thorns so another one down.
That leaves me with typhon, kal'tsit, irene, fiametta, horn, golden glow, mlynar, executor alter.
And for pure waifu reasons jessica alter and ceobe.
Most likely it will be a battle between kal, typhon and executor alter. But i also kind of want irene 😅
I understand the appeal of her visual design and kit , but you have the two best caster (until Logos arrives) , and there is very few instances where Lin will fit rather than the other caster. I honestly feel that Mudrock would be your best pick amongst these top one you placed on that category, and thats even if you get Penance, they can somewhat play a similar role, but their kit plays differently and one is physical (Mudrock) and the other is arts (Penance) , aoe afk stun dps is a Quality of life., its litteraly spin to win! (Mudrock S2) . Fiammetta is one of the operators I pulled a lot on her banner just to get her because I thought her kit was so good....and in practice she's just worst than Ifrit in the sense that not as many stage allow for her best skill to be used properly...so when I used her , I was just forcing it just because I wanted to use her, but eventually stopped using her because she is never the better options, even for stage where her best skill has the perfect placement :/ . As for Reed Alter , Yeah very good pick, for Is4 ,shes a goddess in there , or the R6 stages lol. I agree overal with the other ones you placed in the second category, Blaze is unique in how she works with her S2 , imo and she's very meta for that alone, + talent and status resist. The few one i think could have fitted in the same category as her is Suzuran and Gnosis , while buffing is generally better for dps , Gnosis has strong CC that most enemies don't have immunity to (Cold/Freeze) and he apply a big fragile debuff to frozen enemies , and half as strong for cold one. He's definitely niche but can enable fun shenanigans that makes certain run a joke. He's also godtier for IS4 (anything that slows or prevent movement is in that content). And Suzuran also has a fragile debuff , albeit much lower (but more consistently applied) and her slow is rather good with both S3 and S2 , maybe their design does not appeal to you , but their kit would definitely bring something new to your roster (unless you're quite the pro at using Ela's fragile debuffing mine ,or fully built Shamare's S2 up to m3, these are the go to for fragile debuffing and CC. :)

i regret not picking mudrock. I chose ines, and lines isn't bad, but she has no place on my team at the moment. Mudrock has had one of my favorite designs forever but something in me decided that I didn't need to pull her, because shed probably get a banner soon. No banner for the next six months :(
