Thanks for this awesome video. My R6 just dropped the error 20 last night. And now I have to decide what to do. The repair doesn't look that bad if you take your time.

Because of this video I was able to replace the shutter in my R6 and it works great. I did happen to loose the long screw for the top plate. At first I thought maybe it had gotten picked up by the magnets in the ibis system. So I had to disassemble it again to check. It was not there. But something to be aware of. Screws can stick to the sensor assemble. So be careful where you place it. And thank you again for the video.

I don't like it when you have to pull off the leatherette in order to get to the screws.
Hiding the screws is ridiculous.
Hey dude. Does anybody ever just change the shudder curtain blades? I got that "eror 20", so i took the lens off and saw that they pulled out of the square on one end somehow.
It would be way more work and way more difficult to do that, replacing the entire assembly is a much more effective way to complete this repair. Once a blade is bent, pops out, falls out of place, the shutter is done.

@@HansomsRepairs bummer. I dont even know how this happened. I turned my Canon R6Mii on the other day and checked under the lens after seeing the code, and all of the curtains were popping out through the square.. I'm not sure if there's a smarter play here for me. Is there such a thing as a shutter upgrade for this model?
@@earthworm7346 Nope, no upgrades. Only replacements.

So how much $ is a DIY shutter to buy ?
You can find them online for between $200 and $300 dollars. Expensive for sure, but still cheaper than buying a new camera.
