33:12 - For the record, you can beat all three Elite Trio with the scrolling attack if you successfully jump on Goomp to make sure he’s caught in the giant Bob-Omb explosion. Once you’re at the point all three are reviving each other, countering the scrolling attack will take them out guaranteed… I think this also eliminates the boss fight in its entirety since it’s the bosses’ own attack that beats them. Either that or a count of 1 because jumping on Goomp is required to KO him.
Somnumb woods are a reference to somnambulism, the scientific term for sleepwalking. Also I never guessed that the Taunt Ball could provoke special chase attacks from bosses, and that Kamek was the only one smart enough not to fall for it.
This challenge would be way harder if you were abble to bonk starlow to death . But more seriously in the end of the day it just made the fights longuer to me.
Reading the title. Read it again. "Is it impossible" "minimum kills" wouldn't that..inherently be a no? I mean... is it impossible for YOU to get minimum kills is a whole different matter.
As someone who has speedran Hard Mode, I can give the best possible strategy right here that can beat Dreamy Bowser at level 16: Equip Guard Shell DX on Mario and Luigi. With both Badge Stock Rank-Up Bonuses, charge 3x Risk-Gold (damage everyone) and 1x Miracle-Gold (time stop), as well as nearly fully charge a Miracle-Silver before the battle. Use the Risk-Golds immediately (you won’t take damage because of Guard Shells), then Miracle-Gold. Charge Miracle-Silver and use it immediately to regain your Risk-Golds and Miracle-Gold. Use Risk-Gold as soon as you get it and Miracle-Gold when timestop fades out. With this combo, you can stunlock Dreamy Bowser and win so long as you can keep charging Miracle-Silvers.
the whack part bout Dream Team is that, I did a challenge run of this called Nerve mode, where you don't use equips (cept the basic ones in the more recent games like Dream Team/Paper Jam) or Badges, or Items, and level specifically Stache+Pow every other level, ie level 2 would be Stache/Pow and level 3 would be the one you didn't pick, and so on. also did Jump/Hammer only(so no bros/Luiginary attacks) and only +1 level per area arc(so you'd be around level 8 by Torkscrew. +1 level applies to before each boss, including giant Bosses cuz they don't give exp). this's all in Hard Mode too. the interesting part is, ignoring the Heavy Zest+Beef Cloud cuz Badges are literally required for those+you need both badge stocks for+ 4 badges on the level 8 bonus(otherwise you're soft-locked), and ignoring Grobot X cuz its a forced to get mandatory plot item locked behind optional content that's timed for 6 turns, up until Pi'illodium and specifically Kamek's 3rd fight, for most of the bosses in Dream Team, this is actually "Mostly" possible. the 3 problem bosses in this run were Torkscrew, Mammoshka and Wiggler, the latter 2 being given exceptions to use bros attacks+Badges. 1. Torkscrew is primarily cuz it has 656 hp and is actually the 1st true wall of the run, primarily cuz of the underground poke attack. that attack's evil and you have to hope you get the fail-safe landing vs the intentional 1-2 sec delay💀 2. Mammoshka's primarily cuz of Jank, the boulder toss is very jank, even if you hit it right it could still get sent to da side and kill a bro. the chase attack is also jank cuz there's little warning if it'll speed up or slow down. however, my best run was getting to exactly 320 hp out of its 920 hp Jump/Hammer only, so it is deff possible to beat w/o bros attacks+Badges, but it is okay to use badges/bros attacks to kill it and move on due to the jank 3. Wiggler, there's only 1 reason wiggler's the most problematic, and thats the enraged shockwave. I tested it and can confirm there is literally 0 tell as to if the shockwave is gonna go slow or the normal fast one (you're even primed for the normal fast shockwave at the start of the fight). because of this specific factor, badges and bros attacks are allowed, but obviously aren't allowed for Popple. 4. Grobot X is just.. arbitrary cuz its a forced timed battle for a mandatory plot item in optional content, so it specifically doesn't break any rules to use bros attacks/Badges, in fact I can confirm at the minimum level of 17-18ish w/Weegee Slingshot and the best equips+Half BP bangle, Grobot X dies within the 6 turns allowed however after alla these, I can absolutely confirm Pi'illodium, Kamek 3, Antasma and Dreamy Bowser all require the good ol broken Time Rewind to start of battle state(cept enemy hp, that doesn't change), the Potential 300 damage everyone and 3 turn immortality badge effects to even win. these're impossible cuz they all heal too much. in Antasma's case for his go upside down 200hp heal its completely rng, but he's basically the last boss that can just defeat themselves w/their attack, and he does around 200-400ish per his own attack that hits him. this, w/damage badges+Immortality means you win as long as he doesn't heal. so the charge badge meter when hit equipment ain't needed for this. in the case of Kamek 3rd fight, you do 5 damage vs 4 kameks w/a combined total of 3200hp, so that's not possible w/o badges, however! I can confirm Kamek's 1st and 2nd fights are completely possible w/Jump/Hammer only. Kamek in the 3rd fight also defeats himself w/his chase attack, so you can easily Jump only vs him after using badges to get rid of the Red White and Green Kameks. Dreamy Bowser legit requires you to use the "Badge Charge when hit effect" clothes equipment to even win, he actually heals infinitely until the minions are all gone. so yeah you need that equip to even beat Dreamy Bowser this challenge was supah fun, it started off surprisingly well w/a nice slow descent of eventually impossible in the end, but I'm happy most of the bosses were deff possible this way. 🤔 Dream Team, I learned, even when you have to use badges/bros attacks, legit has a surprising amount of bosses that just.. beat themselves from what I see, Dreamy Bowser deff coulda been possible if you had the +1 Badge Stock effect for both bros at level 8, those 4 badge stocks(technically 5 when you almost fill the badge meter to full) and all the broken badge effects, stored up, that's actually the only way to defeat him
I never aimed for a pacifist run, but I did do an LLG on Hard mode and was able to beat Bowser at either level 18 or 19. I don't remember the fight very well, but it looks like there's only one extra hurdle for the pacifist run, so I think the fight is doable for anybody that wants to give it a go.
I know I could do it I have every boss's attack patterns memorized except for the final boss because I only fight him once a playthrough at the end instead of 3 times for the arena and medly
The three turn requirement was really rough in my minimal battles hard mode run too. I used badges to win: there a badge combination that deals a fixed 80 single target damage. Even in early game it is op, it probably would have made Bowser and Anthasma way easier to do without kills

Huh, so I'm not the only one who thinks that this game doesn't really pick up until after the fetch quest. I get why people like it, but I'm currently marathoning the Mario&Luigi games waiting for Brothership and while Paper Jam has its faults, Dreamteam was the only one that required me to take several lengthy breaks and still left me fatigued by the end. Even tutorials aside, the pacing and writing in this game is just so frustrating, the stuff you actually get done in this story should not take around 40 hours to finish. I cannot imagine doing challenge runs in this one, so hat's off to you for doing it anyway despite not liking the game that much. I actually searched to see if anyone had actually been crazy enough to try this game minimum battles when I was playing it, which I guess is how this video ended up in my recommended. Also, the final results screen is just really weird, I wouldn't rely on it too much. It also told my buddy who I'm marathoning these games with that he died several times despite him never getting a Game Over. I'm guessing it just counts a bunch of weird things no one would think to count like the restarts on Massif's students. Maybe it counts when you kill the little guys in the giant battles, who knows?
Dream team is generally a favorite because of the presentation, but it does have a ton of story elements that slow things down. While the other Mario and LUigi games (except Partners in Time which is generally the least favorite due to linear story AND the story itself is pretty lackluster) generally allow you to explore more as the game opens up, Dream team is funnily enough mostly linear as there's little reason to revisit old areas with new moves to explore new regions beyond just "padding". And the lack of minigames to kind of break it up. Still the characters are funny (I LOVE Dreambert) and the locations and music are really good. It just feels like it drags on and it's not really clear why it feels that way.
Oh. Noice. Based off of your challenge, it’s going to be a tough one. Hopefully, it’s possible. I’m currently in the Dreamy Mount Pajamaja, right before I have to fight the Giant Volcano Boss. But before I even got to that point, I had to fight Big Massif, who, I had to do damageless, which, was extremely hard, since I had to dodge/counter each and every attack Big Massif throws at me, since he one shots me with every single attack that he does. My reaction to defeating Big Massif was extremely priceless, since back then, when I first played the game, I couldn’t defeat him, and now that it’s the present day, and I got past that giant hurdle, I was ecstatic that I won. Oh, and by the way, this was in Hard Mode, where the enemy’s have more health, more defense, and more strength. (And the next boss, who appears at the top of Mount Pajamaja, he was a breeze, even without the new Bros. Attack, the helmet copter, attack, he was easy. The next road block I suspect is going to be most likely the Elite Trio, with there gimmick to heal one another infinitely, unless all 3 of them are KOed at the same time. I’ll edit this comment once I make it there, which, shouldn’t take THAT long, right? I am also trying to save all of the Pi’llos so that I can get the only Bros. Attack I haven’t acquired in my youth, which is the ZooKeeper Bros. Attack, and I suspect it’ll be a giant help in the fight against Bowser, the Final Boss. Anyways, enough of me talking in the comments (and writing what I’m trying to say as well), and let me watch this hour long video of you beating the game as passive as you can, because of course, it’ll be a great video
Just based on the mechanics of Mario and Luigi games, I would assume this is entirely possible. It's possible to dodge and counter all attacks in this game. Now, avoiding unnecessary kills on Boss mooks, that is a much harder challenge.
HOLD IT! Add one to the counter. Red gave off stars at the end of the fight, even if it got overshadowed by the main one's animation. No matter what you do, you kill all four copies of Kamek in the final encounter.
18:19 I think it’s neat that the system is held differently if you’re left handed. I think Luigi is also on a different side than right handed but it’s been a while and I’m not sure
I like Dream Team, but not only does it have tutorials appearing way too often through THE ENTIRE DAMN GAME, it also massively fucks over Luigi despite it being THE game where he would have THE most relevance. What the fuck.
Not really. Mario is also the butt of jokes in this game. Like in most of dream worlds. Take the debt with the Zeekeeper or the way the Spirit of the Dream Stone refuse to talk with him and only Big Green after the battle.
Reasons why Dream Team Bros sucks: 1) Too many tutorials 2) Gyro Controls 😡 3) Dream World 4) Unlocking Zeekeeper Bros Attack 5) Giant Battles 6) Having to fight Kamek 3 times
To be honest, you'd have a better experience if you played the game normally, but I have a feeling you wouldn't have that much of a better experience. The padding and the tutorials are inherent parts of the game and the aren't gonna go away. Perhaps with a second playthrough you'd probably appreciate the positive aspects, but the negative ones still will be there, even if not as glaring.
35:50 Wait, this is an actual Final Fantasy song? I thought they made it up for the Culex fight in Super Mario RPG. Because nothing else about that fight comes from an actual final fantasy game.
I understand why (though it's mostly your choice to upgrade stash biting you in the butt) but I feel like cheating to bypass a boss is admitting defeat rather than finding a workaround.
even if he had used an emulator and save states to get pow or defense perfectly, they would still be unable to beat bowser without killing the bats, considering the other rules of the challenge id say glitches and exploits should be allowed
THIS was your least favourite game? I get it, this was the hardest challenge (of the ones we've seen already), and the tutorials are annoying, but it's better than Paper Jam, which has literally no reason to exist and is offensively bad.
He never played paper Jam, though I'd have a feeling that with how much he hated Dream Team's gameplay, and the improvements that Paper Jam had, he may find it better.

Don't worry. You're not the only one who thinks this is the worst M&L game. I do think so too. This game is not memorable for me at all. Gyro implementation in attacks, though a cool concept, makes attacks inconsistent, by a lot! Kinda wonky on the 3DSXL maybe because of the weight it has compared tot the regular ones. I also felt that the difficulty of this game is racked up compared to the others, considering a normal playthrough. The only memorable part of this game is the mega luigi fights, well for me at least. Though that Zeekeeper battle gave me war flashbacks.

the interesting part is, ignoring the Heavy Zest+Beef Cloud cuz Badges are literally required for those+you need both badge stocks for+ 4 badges on the level 8 bonus(otherwise you're soft-locked),
and ignoring Grobot X cuz its a forced to get mandatory plot item locked behind optional content that's timed for 6 turns,
up until Pi'illodium and specifically Kamek's 3rd fight, for most of the bosses in Dream Team, this is actually "Mostly" possible.
the 3 problem bosses in this run were Torkscrew, Mammoshka and Wiggler, the latter 2 being given exceptions to use bros attacks+Badges.

however after alla these, I can absolutely confirm Pi'illodium, Kamek 3, Antasma and Dreamy Bowser all require the good ol broken Time Rewind to start of battle state(cept enemy hp, that doesn't change), the Potential 300 damage everyone and 3 turn immortality badge effects to even win. these're impossible cuz they all heal too much.
in Antasma's case for his go upside down 200hp heal its completely rng, but he's basically the last boss that can just defeat themselves w/their attack, and he does around 200-400ish per his own attack that hits him.
this, w/damage badges+Immortality means you win as long as he doesn't heal. so the charge badge meter when hit equipment ain't needed for this.
in the case of Kamek 3rd fight, you do 5 damage vs 4 kameks w/a combined total of 3200hp, so that's not possible w/o badges, however! I can confirm Kamek's 1st and 2nd fights are completely possible w/Jump/Hammer only.
Kamek in the 3rd fight also defeats himself w/his chase attack,
so you can easily Jump only vs him after using badges to get rid of the Red White and Green Kameks.

It just feels like it drags on and it's not really clear why it feels that way.
Starlow is just a tsundere to Luigi.
Denouncing him in order to be noticed

NO GAME TELLS ME THE ORDER I PLAY!!!
Happy Birthday man, crazy you did this in Just 1 day
You’re like my new favourite challenge channel thanks for the uploads!
Thank you! Im glad to keep you entertained ❤️
@@DillonWithaBlankie no problem :)
Funny that I'm watching this in reverse order, which still isn't the intended order, and will still end up with Paper Jam last.
Oh.
Was not expecting this ending
I was so confused when the screens for the giant fights were the other way around. Then I realized you’re probably left handed.
Just based on the mechanics of Mario and Luigi games, I would assume this is entirely possible. It's possible to dodge and counter all attacks in this game. Now, avoiding unnecessary kills on Boss mooks, that is a much harder challenge.
Yay! Just finished your partners in time video, I love Mario and Luigi rpg challenges heehee
2 minutes in and already a certified fellow left handed person banger
#lefthandgang ITS OUR TIME!
HOLD IT!
Add one to the counter. Red gave off stars at the end of the fight, even if it got overshadowed by the main one's animation. No matter what you do, you kill all four copies of Kamek in the final encounter.
OBJECTION!
Pillodium exploded himself so i didnt cause his death but still added the number meaning the count is still good!
@@DillonWithaBlankie Fair enough.
18:19 I think it’s neat that the system is held differently if you’re left handed. I think Luigi is also on a different side than right handed but it’s been a while and I’m not sure
19:22 I hate these bosses when I play on emulator (need to emulate gyroscope and slide the mouse is rather hard with slowdown without, is impossible)
58:23 another reason is it’s recommended to be level 38-40 for this boss
Wait..... you can taunt ball bowser? Hunh neat
This deserves more views
can't wait until Brothership comes out and this guy has to do something really stupid in that game too
Hard Mode Giant Medley Arena is brutal. But I beat it. But it took me many failed attempts.
Reasons why Dream Team Bros sucks:
1) Too many tutorials
2) Gyro Controls 😡
3) Dream World
4) Unlocking Zeekeeper Bros Attack
5) Giant Battles
6) Having to fight Kamek 3 times
Your descent into madness was palpable. This game was def a slog for me too with all the goalpost moving.
Your saying all this birthday heresy when my birthday was on the 21st lmfao
Thank you 🙏
AYYYYE A FELLOW LEFTY
This guy and his butt stuff jokes are oddly frequent, Luigi got the Bowser treatment with the “giant battles”, what a game to have missed out on
To be honest, you'd have a better experience if you played the game normally, but I have a feeling you wouldn't have that much of a better experience.
The version used isn't even the original from the SNES
I understand why (though it's mostly your choice to upgrade stash biting you in the butt) but I feel like cheating to bypass a boss is admitting defeat rather than finding a workaround.
even if he had used an emulator and save states to get pow or defense perfectly, they would still be unable to beat bowser without killing the bats, considering the other rules of the challenge id say glitches and exploits should be allowed
Ok, that's cool. But we want to see you suffer. So now you gotta do ALL of that ALL OVER AGAIN IN HARD MODE! Have fun.👍
Happy birthday
@Stamps1879 my birthday is actually tomorrow so this comment scared me like how did this person find out??? Then i saw which video haha thanks for the giggle
@DillonWithaBlankie OMG THAT IS HILARIOUS 😭
Happy actual early birthday then lol o7
You didn't disappoint us Dilly. The game disappointed us lol
Wait if you kill grobot by having him run into a rock dose that count as a kill
Starlo was and is the worst inserted tag-along character Nintendo ever created in the rpg’s
I beg to differ because that dishonor goes to Kersti 100%
She's not terrible in inside story. She was just made worse in the next two games AND overstayed her welcome.
How many bosses can heal in this game (I don't count bowser jr and X bosses)
not minimum challegen failed
Don't worry. You're not the only one who thinks this is the worst M&L game. I do think so too. This game is not memorable for me at all. Gyro implementation in attacks, though a cool concept, makes attacks inconsistent, by a lot! Kinda wonky on the 3DSXL maybe because of the weight it has compared tot the regular ones. I also felt that the difficulty of this game is racked up compared to the others, considering a normal playthrough.
The only memorable part of this game is the mega luigi fights, well for me at least. Though that Zeekeeper battle gave me war flashbacks.
Sleepy game
Yea... This challenge kinda sucks. Not the way you did it, your video is good, but it definitely feels like it just boils down to "Guess they'll die then" because there's just not a lot you can do.
It definitely affected how he played the game as well. I'm guessing he didn't think the game would be as rough for him as it was, but this is a challenge where Dream Team's flaws show up HARD.
Sound is off by a few seconds...
Why don‘t you play Inside Bowser? It‘s literally the best game of the series.
Also I thabk god every day I‘m not left-handed
just wait a few weeks
Saving the best for last? Hehe a valid reason.
30:32 No that is it, I'm unsubbing, I hated that.
Nevermind I wasn't even subbed
Shit was so bad it killed the whole kingdom
@@DillonWithaBlankieIt was so bad it made me unsub pre-emtively.
But I'm being serious if you reference it again you'll probably kill me
16:12 best part of the video
44:01 why did it go from 141 to 137 defeated?
@@kapikapisun i accidentally counted the four guys in the background of pillodiums fight
