- Triumph Rocket 3 R First Ride Review, how does this bike compare to the Triumph Rocket 3 GT, can you tour on it?? I take it on Motorway, B roads and through town to find out if this can do it all.

I own this bike in black and I still find myself watching reviews because of how much of a smile it seems to put on other peoples faces too. Just waiting for it to return too tbh after being hit and run! Great review!

I’ve owned a 2 rocket 3 r’s, one with a quick shifter and the first one without. Absolutely fantastic addition and transforms the bike. This should be the first upgrade and really the only one you need…..

I have the 2020 GT version with a quickshifter on it, bought it last summer and the Rocket is awesome the torque stand out and the riding experience is one of kind coming off a Kawasaki GTR 1400 love it very much. I have been riding for the last 40 years for me the Rocket GT is the best bike i ever own. My suggestion for a new review would be a Kawasaki ZH2 a naked bike i was looking for prior of buying my Triumph Rocket 3 GT. Ride safe mate and hello FROM Montreal Quebec Canada.

Soft setting on the suspension improves the smoothness of the ride on bumpy roads.
A great insight into a lovely bike...(I'd love one but they are pretty expensive)
I live just outside Seattle now (originally from Edinburgh) and visited the Triumph dealership here and saw one in person.
It's a BIG bike! (Not as bad as the previous version however) and a guy getting his bike serviced had a Werkes Competition 3-2 exhaust on it.
I HAD to stay around to hear it leave! WOW! That exhaust is INCREDIBLE!

Man would love to hear one with the Competition exhaust, was talking to a guy last year with a great TFC version and he had de-cated the bike it sounded epic. Cheers Alan great to hear from you :)
Exactly, I put the Werkes Competition exhaust on my 2020 Rocket 3 GT and man it sounds fantastic.... really makes a huge difference. Sounds almost as good as my wife Harley..

I came to see the review and really enjoyed it. As an expat living in Australia it was great to hear a glesca voice and then I realised it was in Hillington estate. Different Triumph shop now as he used to sell Ducati's as well and I remember the original dealership from Renfrew.

Hi Si, I'm on the opposite side of Oz in Perth. You'll like it here, but don't come in the Summer unless you like really warm weather. 40c here at Christmas.

A lovely enthusiastic review of this engineering masterpiece, I'm in the market for one so I may pop to Glasgow for a look. I'm not sure whether I'd like mid of forwards pegs, though I definitely want the GT.
I struggled to get my head around the forward pegs but having ridden the mids I think I prefer the forawrds, with the mids I felt my legs were being blown apart in the wind at high speed and was causing cramps in my groin when I was sub consciously trying to hold them tight against the tank, this didn't happen with the forwards.

Glorious!! Fun Factor!! I just softened the suspension on my GT. WHAT A BIKE!!!
Yeah I think they come out the factory on the hardest setting
@@simotofoto definitely 👍🏼 stiff - little softening did the trick & kept forward controls but moved everything back an inch - little more cramped for my legs, but feels better reaching back brake.

Fantastic bike. I'd love one. I rode the Rocket lll Roadster for an afternoon in 2010. I found it really manageable, despite being 40 kg heavier than the new R.
It's a shame the panniers aren't the same quality as the frames they attach to. Zips?

I have owned one for 5 weeks now and its a torque monster and i cant wait to unleash all the extra power that Triumph have eluded to give it .One thing is the quickshifter is not even coming close to the smoothness of my previous bike gsxr1000 .The parts /service girl in Glasgow was one of the most helpfull staff i have ever come across giving me loads of info regargding service history ect , just a pity i am 3 hours away or i would be getting my bike serviced in Glasgow and not up here in the north east .Any how thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Quality machine....the luggage fitment is a well thought out bit of kit.

Si Motofoto, when riding in the wet, did you get any water on the backside of your back or did the rear wheel hugger keep the water off of you?

Hahahah its tough man but someone has to do it lol
My quick shifter for some reason clunks when actuating. I can make it smoother with a very very light gear change but sometimes that doesn’t change its gear. It was smooth as anything in the front position but when I had them moved to mid it clunks at the top of the gear change.
It maybe need the sensitivity adjusted on it dude its an easy fix at the shop
@@simotofoto they moved the shifter down a little and that helped a bit. I get the horrid clunk from neutral to first though which is weird because it didn’t do it before. And sometimes it even doesn’t do it now but it is most of the time. I’m confused by it.
If you ever get the chance to ride a Tiger 900 rally pro that would be fantastic.

I wasn't aware of that Justin it seemed butter smooth to me at all revs, on the ups as long as I had the throttle open and on the downs the throttle closed and it worked flawlessly
