A lot of what hes referencing is about how in the 90s, when there was a lot of real rivalry among rappers, there was an understanding in the rap community that went something like "you should leave the white boy alone" because he'd win whatever the rivalry was in the first couple lines and then spend the rest of the song reinforcing why you never wanted this to happen again.

Sp I don't think "This a zit" was thought out in that way. However, I think "this is zit" works better because it still has the same amount of syllables and the same pronunciation as "this is it" if you say it fast. I think the most clever part of Killshot is the name of the song itself. In the movie Killshot, the plot is about a hitman killing a man named Colson (which is MGK’s name). I like Rap Devil better but I do think the meaning behind the song name Killshot is dope.
You missed on the Jade a kiss line as well that his daughter Hailey's middle name is Jade thus it was Em throwing another double down talking not only about what you covered but also his daughter. That and locks is another way of saying hair so he is also saying only his hair color has changed he still owns the game. There are several vids out there that break down the killshot lyrics and yeah Em is flexing his word play big time as usual. As far as one versus the other MGK made a song that just happened to have disses in it. Em made a proper diss track. IMO Em owned it and not surprisingly MGK let it go and didn't respond. Probably the best thing he could have done especially given the "quality" of MGKs next release right after this went down. Or as Em put it in the track "What good is a machine gun when it's out of ammo?" Succinct and to the point. A machine gun without ammo is useless. Just so yall know the bars where he talks about " you got me in the scope but you grazed me, I make one call to Interscope and you Swayze" it was a movie reference. The song title Killshot is the title of an 80s movie with Patrick Swayze who is now deceased. In that movie Swayze's name is Colson which also happens to be MGKs name in real life. In the movie Colson (Swayze) gets shot and killed, hence the title of both the movie and song Killshot, and he is figuratively killing Colson (MGK) career by calling Interscope (play on having Colson or MGK in the scope) and destroying his career - just like Colson (Swayze) died literally in the movie. By the way, this album was released on the date Patrick Swayze died... coincidence? i think not. Also, the references to Diddy are because Diddy is MGKs record producer.. Em is calling Diddy a drug addict like himself that pops pills and even goes as far as to mention the conspiracy that Diddy is the one who got Pac killed.
Great reactions to both. Seeing y'all take both these songs in with an open mind was dope. I think both guys came out of this as winners, but you have to give MGK credit for stepping to the GOAT and holding his own. Out of everyone Em dissed on that album, MGK is the only person to respond and come correct.
Only issue and this is where i have to disagree with you saddly but mgk did not come out a winner in this. If you have followed him since this he has seriously struggled up til recently. Killshot had serious effects on the man. Plus if you look at both tracks i can only just barely call rap devil a diss track. Yes its catchy and sounds good but aside from 5 or 6 decent lines it was really weak and was done in a simple flow pattern. And as for kill shot, it was a true diss track with every part of it but maybe 2 or 3 lines being direct attacks and rebuttals. The doubles and triples on display are nuts and if you research the lines meanings it truly a work of art. No t to mention the rhyme schemes on display. While to a novice it sounds not so complex in truth killshot is probably top 10 best diss tracks ever put together. This battle was not even close and anyone with a mind able to break them down got a true treat in listening to killshot several times to catch all the disses and the massive amounts of disrespect on display.

The complexity of his rhymes is insanity in this song. He is rhyming multiple syllables, coming out to rhyme another different set of syllables and then interchanging them back and forth and still completely coherent. Alot of times when people get complex, rhymes sound forced and unintelligible. Em on the otherhand rarely if ever sounds forced and it always makes perfect sense.

The "My biggest flops are your greatest hits" is a lie, Eminem's first studio album is infinite, which only sold around 70 copies, as he said in an interview. He then put out another project that only sold 250 copies. The only true success eminem found, was after being picked up by Dre, and that plays well on MGK's diss "I got all of my shit without Dre producing me." Nobody has really been able to compliment eminem for the Disses, you can just binge watch every breakdown and reaction on it, and it's always the same. Lyricism and rhyme schemes, but MGK came with factual disses. In diss songs, disses are worth more than lyricism, that's why every mainstream rapper and rap commentator who spoke on the beef gave the win to MGK. Killshot is clever, but not hurtful.

I think the most clever part of Killshot is the name of the song itself. In the movie Killshot, the plot is about a hitman killing a man named Colson (which is MGK’s name). I like Rap Devil better but I do think the meaning behind the song name Killshot is dope.
You missed on the Jade a kiss line as well that his daughter Hailey's middle name is Jade thus it was Em throwing another double down talking not only about what you covered but also his daughter. I think both guys came out of this as winners, but you have to give MGK credit for stepping to the GOAT and holding his own. Out of everyone Em dissed on that album, MGK is the only person to respond and come correct.
Only issue and this is where i have to disagree with you saddly but mgk did not come out a winner in this. If you have followed him since this he has seriously struggled up til recently. Killshot had serious effects on the man. Plus if you look at both tracks i can only just barely call rap devil a diss track. Yes its catchy and sounds good but aside from 5 or 6 decent lines it was really weak and was done in a simple flow pattern. And as for kill shot, it was a true diss track with every part of it but maybe 2 or 3 lines being direct attacks and rebuttals. The doubles and triples on display are nuts and if you research the lines meanings it truly a work of art. No t to mention the rhyme schemes on display. While to a novice it sounds not so complex in truth killshot is probably top 10 best diss tracks ever put together. This battle was not even close and anyone with a mind able to break them down got a true treat in listening to killshot several times to catch all the disses and the massive amounts of disrespect on display.

The complexity of his rhymes is insanity in this song. He is rhyming multiple syllables, coming out to rhyme another different set of syllables and then interchanging them back and forth and still completely coherent. Alot of times when people get complex, rhymes sound forced and unintelligible. Em on the otherhand rarely if ever sounds forced and it always makes perfect sense.

Lyricism and rhyme schemes, but MGK came with factual disses. In diss songs, disses are worth more than lyricism, that's why every mainstream rapper and rap commentator who spoke on the beef gave the win to MGK. Killshot is clever, but not hurtful.

As an MGK fan, I can say Eminem's Rhyme scheme will never be touched. But, he sacrifices facts and a lot of the time it doesn't make sense. MGK had a lot to lose doing this rap battle and in my opinion after all the dust settled, his career is a lot better because of it.

The mumble rap comment and auto tune comment really show Em's pettiness. Those 2 lines are the reason Eminem fans won't give MGK the light of day. Because Kells dropped The Binge EP it justified those 2 lines so no matter what the outcome was anyone who didn't know who MGK was before the diss would immediately believe he's a "mumble rapper". That's the biggest insult in this whole diss.
