This was a tuff job! Don’t be to hard on yourself for the little mishaps from day 1, it’s going to happen to use all. I’ve been there plenty of times. No matter how much experience you have you can’t always be prepared for every unexpected event. Have a good day!
Have been thinking about buying this model grinder - thanks for the video. One thing that might help, usually if you start at the front of a stump and grind all the way down and then move forward it cuts better. If you only use the front half of the cutter wheel it cuts better and is easier on your machinery.
I just watched your video on relocating the trailer ramps. Great modification. Stick with the UA-cam channel and I think you will do well When are you coming over to do the same thing to my trailer?
@@RockhillfarmYT im just getting started with my channel but I plan on doing alot more. Thanks for watching and supporting me. I love watching your channel as well.
Great points! Curious about if lumber pricing is hurting your pitching mound business. Are you still able to get the materials you need and build the pitching mounds?
Yeah, we still pump them out every day. I just don’t work in the shop myself Plywood is up by $30 a sheet so I’m probably going to do a $25 price increase on all the products but I haven’t done it yet
Is there a rule of thumb for how deep to grind? I would think that once you get six inches of soil coverage any more is a waste of time unless they are paying you more or by the hour.
@@RockhillfarmYT you sure could have used a leaf blower too. I’ve rented a massive tracked stump grinder and that was an experience. I sure wouldn’t want to pay to replace those teeth. Great content!
I had my backpack blower with me and I used it to blow the stump off a lot. None of those clips made the edit though. The teeth on this one aren’t too bad at about $10 apiece Thank you for watching

Looks like life happened.
Good adjust and end result! 👍🏻

Yeah, that looked like a very tough job Brock. Good job as always! Glad you didn't miss your son's entire game.

It still impresses me how a 3pt implement can chew through a stump
It puts quite a load on the tractor, but this stump was absolutely enormous.
On a small stump it doesn’t have much trouble
@@RockhillfarmYT that was a massive stump for sure. Great video man!
Is there a rule of thumb for how deep to grind? I would think that once you get six inches of soil coverage any more is a waste of time unless they are paying you more or by the hour.
So I think 6 inches is pretty standard. I grind as far as my grinder will go down which I think is about six or 8 inches.
Always take the impact and grease gun! Lol
Samrt
I always keep a magnetic yard roller when in uncharted territory. Probably the least expensive thing I’ve ever bought from the JD dealership.
I have one. Definitely would’ve come in handy for this
