- Опубліковано 7 сер 2024
- Update: We are pleased to say that Emma passed her real Driving Test recently, on her first attempt! Well done 🚙😃👍🏼
Taking a mock driving test is a useful way to assess whether a person’s driving is up to the standard needed to pass the Driving Test. Driving independently for 40 minutes is more of a challenge than a normal driving lesson, and will often show which driving skills need to be improved. Let’s see In this video how Emma does on her mock test route today.

Thank you for the comments everyone I was the lady doing the mock test ive now booked my test for November as due to covid couldn't get in earlier but going to look for cancellations in a couple of weeks I watched the video myself and thought how shocking I was compared to how I drive now 😀
Hope you pass 😊. Just be careful with the indicator as it was my serious fault don’t forget to cancel it after each exit so don’t trust the wheel steering. Many thanks for being brave and doing this test in UA-cam
@@lilaalaoui5058 I've been doing loads of practice in my own car aswell as having lessons and yes I agree in video I was indicating much too early and not cancelling when I should
You did very well Emma , good luck
Good luck Emma , I hope the test goes well :)
I’m sure you’ll pass Emma 👍🏼

Can I drive 7 seated vehicle ? if I passed the car driving test plz tell me thanks.
if you are planning on doing a new video at any stage id happily paricipate ,ive being doing lessons for close to a year now (well ive doing 15 weekily and a half dozwn with the guy beforeso perhapsa little less)though once ive completed my theory ill be doing the practical would be mire than happy to do a mock! P.S. the videos are great ive liked and subscribed.
the parrell parking section seems unjust. she was right to ask for a new spot. the instructor put her in two really tricky scenarios.
I think most problems when you’re learning to drive come from the fact that you don’t know where you’re going or where you’re turning. For example, the serious fault she got for indicating, cause she didn’t know which turn she was taking, she made a mistake.
I’d say she did very very well considering the circumstances, and I’m sure she’ll go on to be a very safe driver, you can tell she’s very conscious and considerate from this video. Good luck x
Emma had a few more lessons to polish up the faults we spotted on this mock test, and then passed her real Driving Test first time! 👌🏼
10:07 not sure I'd put that as a fault. If she went that way then as long as she'd gone safely, it would have been fine. It was the examiner's fault for creating that situation. He should have let her take the left rather than stopping her.
couldnt agree more
pretty much yea i agree
Even when she went straight ahead it shouldn't have been a a fault.
The indicator was only on for a split second and had been off for over 3 seconds before that car pulled out in front of her.
Thanks for teaching me where to stop with a ambulance..my test coming up 😂 good luck Hun ⭐️
Did u pass
@@urmilbaxi4036 guessing not
Thanks for the video, a good example of a difficult mock test, hope I learn from that for my test in just over 2 weeks!
Good luck! 🤞🏼
Thanks for sharing it with us
Very good and helpfully !! Good luck next time Emma
No more mock tests for Emma - she passed her real Driving Test first time in December! 🚙👍🏼
I have passed the test but learning never stops.. Good luck to all
Well done 🙂, One thing I always do is apologise when making a mistake but I found out that I don’t have to keep saying that cause if you make a mistake it’s ok and you can learn from it plus panicking doesn’t help, all that will do is make you more scared and it can be dangerous
Considering all the problems she faced, I think she did well to keep it together and not lose her head. I'd definitely pull in for the ambulance exactly as Emma did so it was really tough that she got a serious fault for it.
Agreed. If she had waited for the broken line, she probably would have been given a fault for not pulling over sooner.
That parallel park he asked of her was very hard, I thought she did really well, thought it was unfair of him to pick that one
At 16.43 I'm glad he changed for her to do the manoeuvre somewhere else! It really wasn't fair on her to ask her to do it right there!
@Learn Linux There was enough room, if she had stopped a little closer to the target vehicle. The second attempt had the same amount of room, but she made use of it better. I doubt they would use a space that small on a real test though!
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool ...then neither should you...that was a very unfair spot to pick.
I apologise for critiscising as you have an excellent channel but i do feel my comment is justified.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool then why use that spot? just daft.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool There definitely wasn't enough room. You could see that from the amount of road available in that space before she pulled up into it. Blatantly obvious to even a novice that there was not enough room between those 2 parked vehicles for her to turn the car 45 degrees in between them. Just admit when it's your mistake.
Love your tutorial...
I had to go over a solid white cycle Lane before because of a motorcycle that overtook a car on the over side of the road and sped past without looking, so if I didn’t go over it then he would have gone right into me. In emergencies you may need to go over a solid white line, as long as you check it is safe.
4:06 this is absolutely ridiculous. If in an emergency stop you don’t need to check your mirrors, then surely the same logic should be applied to when an emergency vehicle is trying to pass?
Yes if there’s a cyclist there or a person don’t run them over, but if it’s safe surely you should be allowed to break those rules in an emergency.
Beautiful channel, please upload more full mock test videos.
thanks

Hi
I really enjoy watching your videos. They're of good quality and points. I live in Sheffield and will have my test in February 2021. I am practicing already with an instructor. I have practiced over 70 hours previously and failed three times. its third time that I get theory certificate as they expire in 2 years. I am really fed up with this driving practice and not passing the tests. I wish there were some videos in Sheffield Middlewood test centre. It would be of great help to me as could help me to be familiar with the roads and junctions. Is there any way that you could help me? The best option is having access to videos in my test area.
We live over 150 miles away from you, so can't film in Sheffield unfortunately. However, learning to drive shouldn't be about learning test routes, as A) you need to be able to drive anywhere safely after passing your test, and B) each test centre has 20 different routes, so it is impossible to learn them all. Maybe ask your instructor to do a mock test with you, and then work on any faults that they notice?
Love watching your mock driving testes ADS. Emma did well too (always look on the bright side). But what got on my RIGHT nerves was Emma's FIRST serious fault. Even though it's a "solid white line" but That's an emergency vehicle. You're MEANT to safely give them way. So to continue to drive looking for a "SAFE, broken white line" aren't you being an obstruction for the vehicle? I'd HATE that to happen to me on my test. I'd probably have a "chick fit" at the examiner, ESPECIALLY if I would of passed my driving test. But.. What can you or I do?
We have to let the ambulance past as soon as possible, but without breaking any rules - as that might cause danger. So don't go through red traffic lights, onto a pavement or anything else that we shouldn't normally do.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool ok. I get you. I just hope that I DON'T HAVE to deal with an emergency vehicle on my test. I MIGHT not pass. And I wouldn't be happy.. But continue to make more mock tests please. I'm LOVING them 🙂😁
@Learn Linux There was plenty of time to find a safe place to let the ambulance past - she could even have turned left into the side road if needed?
congrats to Emma for passing the actual test. I am glad this was in the video, I would have done the same
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool most people actually go onto pavement bc if the road is narrow and stuck in a traffic
Your video’s are very informative thanks,Plz can you make a video about indicating how we can judge that is the good time for indicate ,Next month I have a test but still I’m not sure about how I can judge the way to indicate, thanks.
How To Indicate Precisely ua-cam.com/video/rHDS-S1qXCU/v-deo.html :-)
Advance Driving School , thanks ur videos are great again thanks.
This is a genuine question.. Have driving tests become shorter due to corona or are they same as they were before. I have heard a lot of people say they are much shorter but wasn’t sure :(
The tests are the same length as before, except that is the driver is given a serious or dangerous fault (thereby failing the test) the examiner will shorten the test if possible.
thanks for the video my test is on monday!
Good luck! 🤞🏼
Goodluck mate
How did it go?!
Very good video, lot good points I just learnt, enma didn’t need to signal some the times no one around, took her hands off steering wheel a few times, And didn’t notice much observation under and between parked cars, for children or Animals etc.
No one looks under parked cars when they're driving. If they did that, they'd crash.
how does this apply to drag racing
Literally looks like driving in the open fields of Elysium compared to driving in Ilford and most of East London. It’s a complete madhouse out there... hopefully I pass my test on Monday.
Ha ha. Good luck! 🤞🏼

Good job Emma keep going
Great. Which app it is for navigation? Doesn't seem google. Thanks
The examiners currently use a TomTom Start 50 sat-nav on tests 👍🏼
To me, Emma is a experienced driver and has good potential. Even I am learn from this.
Emma you are a really good driver. Silly mistakes probably due to nerves. Keep going!

If I stop for paramedics do I not signal ? Also on a 70 dual is ok if I do at least 60 ? I'll bare in mind what Emma did she'll pass I'm doing well from watching you also loads have done it just from watching you .
We should signal if it would help others understand what we are intending to do - the same as normal! On a dual carriageway try to keep up with the flow of traffic, you will have to decide what speed is best for the situation.
Have you guys done a video on what to do when theres anambulance, where u can and cant stop etc
We have thought about making that video, but it would be very difficult to film without the help of an emergency service! Our advice is to make sure you don’t break any rules as you let them past - for example don’t cross solid lines, go through red lights or onto pavements etc.
Advance Driving School you could do it w one of your co workers driving in another car and pretend that thats the ambulance:)
I found your video interesting and I wonder how can I take a mock test with you. I have got my test in November.
We only film mock tests with our current pupils. Sorry
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool Thank you for the reply... I appreciate that.
I would love to do a mock test with you guys! But I live in Glasgow! My test is on 6th october
Why not ask you own instructor to do a mock test? Good luck on your test :-)
Ask your instructor, mine asked me out of the blue if I wanted to do a mock test, I’d only be driving with him for 4 weeks. So it’s worth asking.
Good luck I got my extended test on the 5th October.
Can you do a video about how to deal with emergency vehicles please?! Thankyou
We would love to make that video - but it would be really hard to film. We'll have a think!
@@AdvanceDrivingSchoolyou could use two cars and “pretend” the other car is an emergency vehicle and put sound effects over the video!?
Hello, my driving test is at 8 on the 8th of October... is that rush hour?
Edit: I passed my driving test 1st with 4 minors!
I would expect it to be pretty busy at that time. The examiners will probably use a route that minimises any delays though so it probably won't be too bad. Good luck!

Without exaggeration
It's the first time that I will drive a car but I am not sure what is considered a full UK driving license ? For example I will receive a full driving license if I only drive automatic car o only when I learn how to drive a manual car? Thank you so much for your help
In the UK you can get two licences. An automatic only if you take the test in an automatic (which does not permit you to drive manual cars) and a manual licence if you take the test in a manual which allows both manual and automatic cars to be driven. I believe they are both considered to be "full driving licences". Correct me if I'm wrong though 😀
If you do your test on automatic car you cant drive manual car only automatic and if you pass your test on manual you can drive manual and automatic car with your licence.
@Learn Linux In the eyes of DVSA every car is either manual or automatic. Anything with a clutch pedal is classed as manual, and everything without a clutch pedal is classed as automatic. Many automatic cars have some form of manual control, via paddles on the steering wheel or the normal gear selector - but since they also have a fully automatic mode they are still basically an automatic.
Great video. Btw, why did the instructor ask to park behind the van both times. Challenging for sure 😅
We just didn’t have any better cars available to do the manoeuvre. It was a tough situation!
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool Agreed.
5:55 what does "Signals, TIMED (indicating past right turn)" mean?
On the examiner's marking sheet* for the test, there is a section for faults with the use of signals - and within that section there are three options: Necessary, Correctly, and Timed (to clarify what type of fault there was with the drivers signalling). In this case we noted the fault in the 'Signals, Timed' area as Emma indicated right and then drove past a right turn on approach to her turn - potentially misleading to others. [* they actually use an iPad now, but it works the same. Search for 'Driving Test form DL25' if you are interested.]
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool Thanks for your considerate and elaborate reply to my laconic question. I happened to miss her driving past the right turn despite multiple watching of the clip, before you courteously pointed out. On a side note, I love your videos and the passionate effort you guys put in to educate us about safe driving. As an Indian who's been driving since 10 years now, bad habits tend to creep in very easily and are almost unavoidable on every ride because barely anyone follow the rules, or even care to beyond the occasional traffic signals. It sounds as an excuse, but it is just so difficult to maintain order when everything around you is so chaotic. The infrastructure doesn't help either, I'm just stunned to see how the roads in UK are well maintained including the lines which nobody here cares after the first paint. Or the speed limit which I'd guess most won't have a scooby doo about. Driving in India is an adventure sport, and makes me really lose the love and passion for the hobby which I had, but also the people and society in general. Okay. Rant over. Thanks ad infinitum for being the instrument not only to rekindle my passion to drive but also in helping me spot my bad habits that've crept in knowingly or unknowingly and unlearn, relearn or learn anew healthy and safe driving principles. Your vids are priceless value addition. I'm shocked how they're free of cost!!!!!!!
Driving route wasn’t difficult at all compared to driving in east London 😂
How could I get my driving test so I can drive automatic car and past I need help my name is Julie thank you
Find a local driving instructor, and they will help you get ready for the test. Good luck 👍🏼
Just passed my test this morning your channel subscriptions helped me thank you for Your Hard working 🌸🌹🌺
Replay of faults missing?
When indicating the wrong way, if the examiner cancels the signal and tells you to carry on, would reapplying the signal and going the wrong way save you from a major fault? If you explained "I may have made that car think I'm turning so I felt it was the safest thing to do sorry"??
Whilst going the wrong way safely won’t fail a test, if the examiner feels it’s safest to cancel your signal then you have probably already made a serious fault.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool Makes sense, thanks!

@@AdvanceDrivingSchool Thanks for your quick reply. I have an other question. How to know that bonnet is at safe distance while parking in tight spots?
Since all cars are different, the only advice we can give is to leave loads of space!
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool which reference points do you take for your car? Your answer will be a lot helpful for me. Thank you for your patience and support
We don't use any reference points, as they will only work for that driver in that exact car. We use our judgement, and that only comes from experience.
Hi
How many times we can give mock test?
That is for you and your instructor to decide. Most people take 2 or 3 goes before they pass one, and then we usually take the real test. 👍🏼

Automatic is so easy!
Quick question. When moving behind parked cars. Shoulder check done, how about the signalling? I noticed that there wasn't anyone could benefit from the signal.
If no one would benefit, then there is no need to indicate 👍🏼
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool thank you
@Learn Linux You can if you like, but there isn't any requirement to do so.
9:58 why did you tell her to keep going straight
Because she had misunderstood the sat-nav.
Are 40 hours driving lessons enough and I'm doing 5 hours every Saturday will I be ready?
Everyone learns at their own speed. That would be plenty of time for some people, but nowhere near enough for others. Your instructor will tell you if you are ready 👍🏼
Well done Emma, keep going!!
I feel like you’ve endicated waaay too early in all situation.(Don’t get me wrong here)
All the BEST!!
IN the start why was she checking blind sport WHERE there was a wall and they were park
A pedestrian or cyclist could come from either side of the car, so it is definitely worth checking your blind spots every time you pull away.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool yes i know that but there was a wall she was not on the road or some kind. But anyways that lady did her best hope she pass in the real test
The brick wall was behind the car - which is covered by the mirrors and therefore isn't in a blind spot. Our blind spots are to the sides of the car, just over our shoulders. If we fail to check these before pulling away we can expect to be given a fault on the driving test - so it's best to check them every time.
Hello There...Is there any possibility to book a driving mock test with you?
If you are currently learning to drive with one of our instructors, then just ask them if you are ready to do a mock test. If you’re not one of our pupils, then unfortunately not - as we don’t know your current standard of driving.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool thanks much for your reply. I am not training but as I need to appear for the test, next month, I just wanted to give mocks to be well prepared and work on the deficiencies.
In that case book some lessons with a local instructor - they will help you get your driving up to the standard needed to pass. Good luck!
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool Thanks for your lovely channel and useful videos. I earned my license this week with 2 minors. Keep making videos and sharing with us. Gratitude!!
That's so unfair that she failed for pulling on for the ambulance. But then of she didn't pull in, she would get marked for causing a hazard bring in the ambulance way
We could hear the Ambulance behind us for at least 30 seconds before it caught us - plenty of time to find a safe place to let it past!
But if you’ve never driven the route before how would you know if there was a more suitable place further on?
Why does she need to swear instructor is really nice thanks for the video really helps 👍🏼😊
Mina have you ever driven on British roads? you’d probably swear too
Hmmm, I think there was something missing from the video. Why was there no face masks? Also, have you seen serious dash cam clips on UA-cam or in your daily life drivers tailgating emergency vehicles or even following them?
This was filmed some time ago, and Emma preferred not to wear a mask for the video.
What could she do when she needed to emergency stop for ambulance and the road was clear?
We need to let the ambulance past in the safest way possible - so we can’t break rules that might put someone else in danger.
Advance Driving School okay, thank you very much
@Learn Linux Yes, if we drive on the pavement we could put other people in danger - and fail a driving test. Find a safe way to let the emergency vehicle pass!
Where is this place part of uk?
This is Bury St Edmunds, in Suffolk.

Thanks! We don’t work anywhere else I’m afraid - sorry!
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool ❣️
So where was she meant to pull up
About 50 metres later there was a couple of legal places where she could have stopped. The ambulance was still well behind her so there was plenty of time to find a safe place to stop.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool but how would the driver know if they havent know the road that well like you do
she is very afraid when driving (when we are driving be free to drive dont think it was a big work )
and the steering control can be turn with a single hand
10:40 she can use dipper to stop them
Thanks for teaching not to panic when an ambulance is behind me and not to park illegally on a white straight line. And also to stay on the left lane while joining the dual carriageway. Will go a long way on my test next week.
Good luck!
How it can be serious fault if she gave way to ambulance? Even she crossed sold line in to cycle lane ? It was emergency
We should not break rules and cause danger when emergency vehicles approach. Always look for the safest way to help them pass. In that situation we would have stopped a little further along the road after the cycle lane.
I don’t think it was fair to give her a serious for giving priority to an ambulance, when she legally has to move over. 🤦🏻♀️ I feel that would be very much up to an examiners discretion.
I passed yesterday with 11 minors.
Well done! 🚗👌🏼😄
Failed first couple mins doing best she could. Tough, cannot understand how do better given ambulance close by
We mentioned in the video that there was a safe place to stop another 100 metres along the road - or she could have simply turned left into a minor road. Since the ambulance was still a long way behind there was plenty of time to decide the safest way to let it past, without breaking any rules that might cause danger.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool yes but I’m thinking on the feet of the learner. They’ll not know the cycle Lane goes dashed and freeze.
Yes, that sort of fault should be found during lessons or mock tests and fixed before attempting a real test!
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool Totally spot on , agree. Glad watching your and other videos as these are crucial to passing, not reacting OTT and panic and think things through. I know she didn't look like she panicked but her actions said she did. I would have done as her too !!!!!!!!! So glad we can watch these 'blunders' which are fatal = fails, thanks again
Oh NO !! Even more confusion. I still have an issue with this SORRY and understand both schools of thought. RE: During a driving test, whether the line is solid or dashed, try and avoid driving in a cycle lane if possible. It is on occasions necessary to drive in a cycle lane, even if it has a solid line. - So this is more grey vague info interpretation of Essential skills. How would a learner know that a cycle lane goes dashed further up, she's literally trying to avoid an ambulance and I get the Ambulance needs make it's own path but good driver's make space and that she has and it says 'on occasions necessary to drive in a cycle lane'
Whys it titled 2024 when this was 3 yrs ago😭
To show that it is still applicable to the current driving test format. 👍🏼
After a few minutes I realised that this was an automatic car 😂😂😂😂😂
I thought it was the fiesta at first 🤣
Ahh it’s automatic
It is not even a fault to cross the solid line in circumstances of ambulance or Police, she just needed to inform the examiner about that. You note that as dangerous fault but you did not suggest a solution for letting the ambulance pass. Your solution is to wait for a broken line and cross it: that would delay the ambulance and it might aggravate the situation of the patient in the ambulance.
There was plenty of time to find a safe place to let the ambulance past. If we plan ahead we can help the emergency vehicle without the need to break rules and cause danger to others.
How would you know it’s 20 on that road at 10:42
That road should have 20 signs as we turn in from the main road - but they’re missing! Thankfully the speed humps make it almost impossible to speed, so it hasn’t been a problem on lessons so far.
I thought she passed
If any serious or dangerous faults are given, the test will result in a fail. Emma did pass her real Driving Test first time though! 😃👍🏼
The constant adverts are really distracting. Glad they don't pop up in real life!
We don’t like them either - but they pay for everything!

Has she got her foot on the clutch the entire time?
No, it's just resting on the floor - as this car is an automatic!

Is it ever possible for a human being to act like a robot & make zero error every time !
As Tesla are currently showing - it's actually very hard for a computer to recognise and deal with all the hazards on the public road. Currently a well-trained human is the safest thing to control a car!
My test has gone on 1st September the female examiner was so upsetting before sitting in car then she asked me to tell me a question about indicator I give a correct answer then she asked me to start car she hasn't told her name as well as how many minutes test 38 or 40 mins she said whenever you ready drive then I drive about 40 mins at end she said you failed your test because you over take cyclist thats its no manoeuvre she asked I was so annoyed how was a ugly women. My instructor thought I was passed.Tuesday was my bad day because of female examiner.
