XD To be fair, he also looks skinnier in my opinion, and this season doesn't do a great job of distinguishing all the interchangeable blonde dudes (Reiner, Falco, Colt, even Zeke in the flashbacks).
@@jlilley73 Reiner did actually lose weight during the timeskip, about 12 kg (~26 lbs) according to the AOT wiki page. He likely lost weight due to his ever deteriorating mental health, but at least he physically looks 10/10!
And Jean! I have yet to see a reactor recognize him at the end there.

'that day' being when colossal breached the walls and not the one where Faye was fed to dogs (since both episodes are called the same lol)

The amount of joy I acquired from seeing Ange play this opening was massive. He looked like he was just having so much fun doing it and that positivity was absolutely infectious! I never skip his opening covers of the songs, they're too good!

I personally liked season one better but I can see why this one is your favorite. The titan fights and character growth is great in this season.

Part of the tragedy of Ymir's character is that she was turned into a titan because of her kindness, trying to save others, and then she gave up the jaw titan willingly out of her own kindness. She tried living for herself for a while, but in the end she couldn't really betray who she truly was: a selfless person, putting others first before herself.
We had a trailer 6 months before this episode aired and it clearly showed the main cast looking older and anime-only watchers still were confused for the first 10 or so minutes. Very different season, we weren’t joking when we said last video that everything up until now was a prologue 😅
Everything was important and impressive this season is just intensifying the the intensity as AOT always does each new season.

I wasn't confused. There was literally no reason to assume that it's a flashback especially when they're talking how they lost colossal and female on Paradise + older Reiner
if you ask me, i still think saying that everything up to season 4 is a prologue, is a joke.
The most logical explanation for Carlie knowing Grisha's first wife was the Smiley Titan was that she could relate: She had been wanting to bite Carla's head off for a while because of Ange's simping. XD XD XD
But why do I think she is going to have a field day herself with all the new Reiner, Eren and Jean designs🤣
I had no doubt that carlie was not spoiled because the way she guessed it was logical af. She knew that smiling was important , was keeping an eye out for the hair.

Reiner is closer in age to eren than zeke, definitely. He only has like a year or 2 on eren. They got their powers at around the same time, but Zeke got it a few years before. So I believe at this point Zeke has about a year left and the others have around 3
Just to clarify all Marley and shifters except porco, have a 1 year by this point, Zeke actually got his titan the same year as the others he was just older.

Is it though for Reiner and Zeke? I feel like Marley would be systematic in its warrior program and turn all the 7 at the same time so that it's completely planned and under their control. The age of the candidate not being considered I thought they trained their warrior simultaneously for each of the titans.

@@EliPride11 The reason why is because the Shifter's titan is influenced by which titan's spinal fluid was given to them in order to transform. Shifters who were turned into Pure Titans using the fluid of their new Shifter form will be more adapted to their titan's abilities, where using others will lead to some messing up.
As much as a few people thought Carlie and Ange were keeping spoilers to themselves, I think their discussions prove that they're really smart and they pick up clues really fast where most of us wouldn't until a few rewatches. Keep up the good work guys!
The best thing about a new season is Ange's intro covers.
I'm surprised 09:55 didn't tell you guys sooner what was happening, when they said they lost the Female and Collossal titans, i.e. Annie & Bertholdt. Great reaction though, can't wait for you guys to watch the rest!

Not trying to undermine Carlie here because I'm one of the people that were impressed.
I'm here however to support her and say that during my first watch of AoT i also knew the identity of smiling titan right off the bat because of what happened with Connie and his mother. It already engrained in my mind to lay attention to photographs and j was already kinda guessing the Zeke relationship which was obvious, but seeing the mother and i immediately thought of smiling titan. I just don't have a UA-cam platform to share my thoughts so i can see why it looks bad for Carlie but I'm here to assure people that it can happen especially when you're actively theorizing vs just watching a show in the background while having dinner or something :p

A really interesting thing about Zeke from a few of his comments is that he doesn't seem to like or care for what he's doing. He seems to dissociate from his actions by turning everything into a game of baseball and he even seemed to be frustrated for the people in the walls because they had their memories wiped. He said to Reiner and Bertolt that he just wants things to be over. And even his comment in this episode, "Isn't war a terrible thing?" I do think he's one of the more intriguing characters because we've known him for several seasons now and his true intentions are still unclear. GO MONKE.
Side note, the ED for this part of the Season, Shock, is absolutely top tier and everyone should check it out if they haven't.
Shock is maybe my favorite anime song ever. It's so emotional and beautiful. The episodes where it starts playing before the full credits roll are so incredibly emotional, I love it so goddamn much

A lot of people seem to have an issue with the titan animations in this season (the show was picked up by a different studio that chose to make them all CG). It's definitely a different aesthetic, but I personally love the way the titans look.

On rewatch, you will see, they gave all the pertinent information, but they gave it during moments of stress, this was so well done, it hid the reveal, while revealing it.

This season is truly awesome, there were episodes that had me laughing screaming and crying all in 1 episode, I can’t wait to continue this journey with the 2 of you, buckle up it gets crazy!
As crazy as this was, imagine how easy it would have been to just drop Bert out of that airship and have him colossal faceplant the fort. Who even needs a battle then.
The Colossal transforming is like a mini nuke alone. Its heat wave evaporates anything in its immediate radius.
Unfortunately it has the worst mobility ever due to sheer size.... So using it for more than a plane bomb seems like a terrible idea.
And your intro was so dope this time, i like that you put some flair into your guitar playing this time around!

Magath (the commander figure) explained that it's been 9 years since the beginning of the Paradis operation, which mean it's been 5 years since the battle at Shiganshina and 4 years since the end of season 3.
That would mean Reiner is now 21. Zeke is 29 and Eren is 19. For age references.
The war started since Marley's military might is dependant on the power of the titans and since they lost both the colossal and the female titan during the operation and were also defeated and pushed back proved to the rest of the world that Marley was getting weaker which influenced the mid-east alliance to start a war with Marley to end their dominance.

Wow! The intro had a different tone than the original, but I was still singing along with the intro... The art style changed since for season 4, the studio behind the drawings changed from Wit studios to Mappa making the art in season 4.
When she first mentioned it, it raised an eyebrow but if you are wating thier reactions and not the show you tell she genuine. It was so funny seeing his reaction after it was revealed he look straight at her lol str8 blew his mind.
