Yes I'll fly with them. During travel drinking and eating isn't big issue, real thing is aircraft and safety. Saudi Arabia is richer enough to buy excellent and safe airplanes.
They aren’t making their own airplanes, they’re using the same airplanes every other country uses. Being “richer” doesn’t impact the safety of an already designed and built aircraft.

I noticed the difference in sleep between your recent Turkish airlines flight from Canada and this one. Best to avoid wine and beef and no dinner and here you go 8 hours of sleep. That's impressive. Well done Saudia. I definitely would like to try this airline. The lounge looks great and well done in allowing walk in guests for payment. That's great when you fly economy and not a skyteam elite member
I have been travelling with Saudia regularly since 2016 and its service has improved significantly. But there are some areas they still need to improve. Key areas are level of cleanliness through out the aircraft, level of wear and tear in the aircraft ( worn out seats and trims are not replaced as often as they should be) and leather seats in business on long haul are bad idea. You end up with sweaty back and they don't provide matterss which makes it feel like you are sleeping on leather sofa.
For the first time since I have watched you for years, I saw you express a disapproving face when you drank the "Date Smoothie". Finally, what you really think! Love your videos!!
one thing I will miss at Jeddah Airport is the bus trip between the aircraft and the old commercial terminal and the hajj terminal..... back in 1994 on my first umrah trip, I get to ride on the special bus that can lift up to the aircraft and the terminal..... back then the flight from KUL was on board the B747 Classic just like the picture showed in the video....
I don't recommend them. Schedule is a bit of a mismatched, you would be better of with Emirates or Qatar because of their massive network and cheaper ticket prices.
@@Arcadiez lol, it’s because it’s a religious country which has these rules. Plus if ur gonna go on the airline you should comply with the tradition and avoid what they are avoiding
Last month I flew Saudia from Riyadh to Manila and back, and both times it wasn't great. Both flights used 10 year old 777s that were still fitted with their god awful old cabin, with a cramped 3-4-3 layout and the worst of all, the IFE. Both times they did not work for the very large majority of us (keep in mind these flights were 2 weeks apart and they did absolutely nothing inbetween to fix it) and so I had to rely on the limited shows, movies and music I had downloaded to entertain myself for 10 hours. After the flight I contacted Saudia to complain and I got a response that was on the lines of "We thank you for telling us about our experience blah blah blah we've handed this over to our management team thank you for contacting us" which to me seemed like they were saying "We don't care, deal with it." Thankfully both flights between Riyadh and London was on relatively young 5 year old 777s with the lovely modern interior. Although the IFE choice is a little sparse.
How did you judge that we are arrogant because of a fly route?😂 it seems you have a big problem with us and your judge is based on bullshit ,, ofc same route don’t need necessarily new plans many of the passengers are workers and just want a good and affordable tickets with a good experience based on the prices of the tickets and i think many air lines do this as well ,, so shut up and talk facts dont judge with feeling I travel on the same route with Philippine airlines and it was a disaster

Have made several long haul flights on Saudia over the past couple years; I've found it to be a top-tier airline, fully worthy to be the flag carrier for the KSA.
As a U.S. expat, I worked in Riyadh in 1983-84. The ground facilities have certainly improved based on Sam's video. KSA is still a very tradition-bound land - that's not a bad thing - BUT it is good to see women taking a stronger out front position in their society. My favorite plane when coming/going from the Kingdom was the Lockheed L-1011 TriStar. This plane is still my favorite long-haul aricraft. The Saudi airports are rivaling Dubai and Instanbul. Very beautiful. Thanks Sam as always for informative and entertaining content.

Really great review!! Was recently in KSA, and was lucky enough to fly Saudia domestically. Great airline. Rapidly changing, opening and liberalising country. Heartening to see
Flew from Madrid via Jeddah 4 days back...while transiting found the security officers there quite rude and unruly. They snatched a guy's mobile phone to see if he was making videos + they talk to the passengers extremely rudely. I think the transfer area crew need to be re-trained on hospitality and how to make passengers feel welcomed

I flew a couple of weeks ago with Saudia in business class (2 way flight) and my experience was that their non-native cabin crew were more welcoming and friendly compared to their native cabin crews. Due to the current expensive flight prices, I've booked two return flights with them next year to BKK, one from MXP and the other from GVA as their prices are at least £200 cheaper per return, even including the connecting flights from LON with other airlines.
Some Koreans live in KSA. I knew several Korean women who are married to a Saudi man. Some go back and forth between S. Korea and KSA. Also, really a Filipina FA. What would KSA do without Filipino’s?

Flew with them on business, very good. Flew with them LHR>JED>Manila good, but coming back it would appear that they take a lot more care with their primary 'more important' routes, worst experience I've ever had with any airline. It's a long story, but shortened here. MANILA-Flight delayed, waited in 5 hr queue to find that out. Shuttle to hotel in MNL. Hotel was not expecting us. Waited 2 hours in reception. Had to share room with another passenger. Next day, travelled to airport to be told fight delayed again until tomorrow. Next day got up 5AM, boarded shuttle bus, told delayed again before we even moved. Next day, got to airport but flight not displayed. Went to SAA offices, closed until midday (after flight left). Went through security hoping to find flight, we did. 1hr delay, but took off ok. Told we will miss connecting flight in Riyadh, but we have hotel. Arrived Riyadh 2pm, at 2AM (12 hrs later) hotel ready. One small shuttle bus. Took half of passengers, but 45min trip 'each way' to hotel, and had to wait 1.5 hours for it to come back. Got back to airport after 1 HR sleep, FLIGHT FULL (overbooked)!! People were begging to get on the flight, staff very rude and said 'if you dont comply you will be removed from flight or the airport'. Got back 4 days late. Shocking lack of consideration.
Thanks for your honest review! Too often we only see the sanitised and perfect version offered here on youtube by paid/sponsored professional reviewers. It's funny how differently passengers are treated by airline staff when they are only paying economy fares and are not overtly filming their experiences for a large online audience...
Just sounds like very bad luck honestly, not like something that happens daily. The truth is such can happen with almost any carrier, not every experience is always smooth
@@hariranormal5584 I hear what you're saying, but that's just the short story. Through out the whole process no-one representing SAA seemed to care, and if you complained you were shut up, disregarded or told if we didn't like it then you can always get the next flight. Just my experience.

I would love to live the life that Sam Chui lives...truly marvelous!!
Your videos are all high quality!!
I regularly fly from JED-IAD it's always a great experience
I have been travelling with Saudia regularly since 2016 and its service has improved significantly. But there are some areas they still need to improve. Key areas are level of cleanliness through out the aircraft, level of wear and tear in the aircraft ( worn out seats and trims are not replaced as often as they should be) and leather seats in business on long haul are bad idea. You end up with sweaty back and they don't provide matterss which makes it feel like you are sleeping on leather sofa.
Cool to see the Jeddah Tower in progress at 17:41
Impressive lounge at Jeddah Airport.
Wow! Really attentive, polite service. Date smoothies?! Fantastic!
For the first time since I have watched you for years, I saw you express a disapproving face when you drank the "Date Smoothie". Finally, what you really think! Love your videos!!

@@favashajrlandscape No Sir. You're mistaken. We never hate KSA. We love KSA 🇸🇦❤️🇮🇳. Harmony brings strength.
one thing I will miss at Jeddah Airport is the bus trip between the aircraft and the old commercial terminal and the hajj terminal..... back in 1994 on my first umrah trip, I get to ride on the special bus that can lift up to the aircraft and the terminal..... back then the flight from KUL was on board the B747 Classic just like the picture showed in the video....
Cool video. I was just on their site looking at flights and then wanted to see if there was any images or videos. Landed on your video. Nice job.
Solid airline, good economy seats, nice friendly crew , great food , best economy class ever
Franchement j'ai regardé tous vos videos!!!! Vous n'avez peur de rien!!!! Jamais j'aurais osè vivre des expériences comme vous!!! Bravo nravo monsieur
Like watching this episode remembering Jeddah I worked for 12 yrs...there
Its a solid 4 star airline. Clean and good service, and a pleasant crew.
I like it, I’ve been on it more than 10 times and enjoyed every single one!
I don't recommend them. Schedule is a bit of a mismatched, you would be better of with Emirates or Qatar because of their massive network and cheaper ticket prices.
@@nntflow7058 those airlines don’t show off the culture as much as saudia does
No alcohol. -1 point
@@Arcadiez lol, it’s because it’s a religious country which has these rules. Plus if ur gonna go on the airline you should comply with the tradition and avoid what they are avoiding
I’m currently considering booking a Saudi’s flight with an 11 hour layover in JED airport and this video was very helpful, thank you!!

I flew Saudia many times in the 70's, memories as a child..:)
I used to live in Jeddah for 7 years , always used Saudia and have had not bad experience. Very professional, very friendly cabin crew, and extremely safe in regards to maintenance and in aircraft. Bye the way like the music may I know by whom and the title is called?
If it is the music at the start, it is on Saudia's landing video on UA-cam called 'SV Landing'. It's a pretty cool video too!

thanks for the video sam one day I really want to go on saudia arabia airlines
SAUDIA is the best airline I could choose to fly with. I don't regret it, yet I'll choose SAUDIA to fly to Far East.

Saudi Arabia being very traditional is absolutely a bad thing. The way women and the opposition are treated.. truly a modern day dystopia.

Hey Sam! Loved the new vibe and music of this video! ❤️ Commenting before even watching the whole video!
Touched down last night with Saudia SV834. The airlines is good and the new airport is beautiful. Could not find the cylindrical aquarium though 😢. but the ground staff at Jeddah was bad. Had similar bad exp. With rude ground staff when I took SV831 two weeks earlier. They were shouting and most of the pax having problems to communicate.

Did you need to have a Covid test to travel with them?

I flew Saudia 747 from Kuala Lumpur to Madinah in 2011. One of the best airlines. Better than KLM in my experience.
My Godfather and my uncle work in Saudi, and I don't know if they fly to Saudi on either that or PAL (Philippine Airlines), but I do love this video!!
PS: The Saudia chef *really* does know how to cook a scrambled eggs beautifully... I'm a bit jealous since I just made those for the first time :)

@@dianaarash8826 there's no fly dubai going to the Philippines.. maybe from dubai to Saudi. Filipino prepared Philippines airlines and Saudia because it's a direct flight to Manila.

Welcome aboard Saudi Arabian Airlines. May God protect Saudi Arabia, even on its international flights. There is a mosque. Indeed, Saudi Arabia is a pride for every Muslim.
Saudi Arabia is a disgusting State and a Shame for every Muslim. Charging 10.000$ for Hajj and only allowing Saudi Airlines to fly there is a terrible thing that pays the dictators private terrorist family. The people are sheep and accept it because they get basically free money..
I'm currently living in jeddah suadia and I travelled alot through suadi airline it's very comfortable 😌
Great video Sam. Loved the sunrise at Riyadh.
I flew a couple of weeks ago with Saudia in business class (2 way flight) and my experience was that their non-native cabin crew were more welcoming and friendly compared to their native cabin crews. They are more accomodating and i felt like i was taken care off. Compared to the natives (from Saudi) i felt like they were just getting the job done. The lounge in Jeddah was incredible, great barista and choices of food was adequate.

That was not the Captain, he was the head flight attendant better known as Purser.
Excited journey! I enjoyed the same 737 domestic destination.
Due to the current expensive flight prices, I've booked two return flights with them next year to BKK, one from MXP and the other from GVA as their prices are at least £200 cheaper per return, even including the connecting flights from LON with other airlines.
Impressed with the service and the safety record of these airlines.surely ill travel with saudia

And if you complain they will chop your head off
Just sounds like very bad luck honestly, not like something that happens daily.
Nightmare!!!!
First step my foot in Saudi..I don't fell any ..
