I think what I would be interested in learning is how to transform a photo reference into a sketch and then determine paint colors and how to work in the details. I focus on florals with a botanical style. Up till now most of what I've painted has been from online classes and tutorials, but I would like to sell and publish my work so need to get better at translating a photo reference into a finished watercolor painting. Thank you so much!!!
I have a video coming soon that shares some of my color mixing process that will hopefully help!! Thank you for the ideas and feedback-that helps me a lot as I plan ahead
Stunning watercolour painting Katrina! and EXCELLENT tutorial! I took your drawing challenge and learnt so much and gave me so much direction. I've been experimenting with watercolours and styles and it's all a bit overwhelming...not only the learning but also finding the style you want to develop. I totally adore this style you're showing, realistic but without being overly detailed, so beautiful! I would love to see more of these watercolour flower tutorials from you, so talented! :)Thank you:)
Finding your style is really difficult! What I am doing now is very different than what I was doing even a year and a half ago. It takes a while to find your groove. I have a video with tips coming out soon, but don’t be discouraged if you have trouble finding your style at first! Just play and learn for a while ☺️
Again watched you painting...you offered to paint more loosely and that is what I am wishing to find how to do and think you will be my guide. I will keep watching and waiting for that tutorial ! Meanwhile, take care and thank you so much !
I found this interesting and the details that came out were amazing. You are informative in your watercolors and your color mixing is great. Thanks, for the video.
Probably amethyst genuine by Daniel smith but any blue-purple should work! I just pulled out something I had on hand (I don’t use purple very much, hah)
@@katrinacrouch I was not able to joint the flower drawing challenge. I followed the link but I was never emailed access. Is there a problem with the website? Thanks. Love all of your paintings and tutorials....I have learned so much
I enjoyed seeing the addition of the red glaze - it makes such a big difference for such a small amount of work.
Yes! I love doing that-it has become my little signature 😄
