Bah, I'll give y'all better tutorial. Step 1: Purchase moonshack. Personally I like Big Valley one because it's very close to Manzanita Post hence fast travel is available. Step 2: Do bootlegger missions until your mash price reaches $10, if there's no bootlegger available (it's some 20 minutes cooldown) do story mission or go for legendary bounty in the meantime. Step 3: ALWAYS make flavoured moonshine, doesn't matter what flavour really, but adding it at all gives you additional experience. Step 4: During delivery, don't shoot at revenuers blockade first, they often let you pass peacefully and then won't chase you so you won't lose your stock. Step 5: Purchase distillers upgrade as soon as you can, with medium moonshine it actually starts to pay off, with strong moonshine it's a very nice profit margin. Once you reach 19 or 20 rank you also wait less (48 minutes for strong moonshine). Step 6: Purchase this best roadster tricolor horse because it's the best racing horse in the game currently. Additional info: you can either have Collector's compass by your belt or Moonshiner flask. There can be only one, so choose wisely. Thank me later. Edit: And a protip, you can leech experience from someone's posse if you're lazy but it takes more time and you get paid like $10 Edit 2: I forgot to mention, that there's an AUTO-PILOT though I'm not sure if it works on other platforms than PC. Basically press SHIFT as if you want to gallop, then take aim with any weapon you have and wagon will drive itself almost flawlessly. KNOWN ISSUES: crossing river, going uphill, going through bridges and path disappearing on the compass sometimes results in horses going crazy and losing a bottle. Other than that it's a must use.
good point with no. 4, I don't know if this changes a lot at later levels, but right now, I've rarely had any confrontations with revenuers ... they'll let you go peacefully a lot of the time, and sometimes they won't have any problems even after inspecting your stuff (which doesn't really make sense, but w/e).
Moonshiner and delivery missions are nice compared other missions where you have to stretch out the time to make more gold and money. I hate capturing bounties really quickly and then realizing I’m going to have to sit outside the station idle for a couple minutes before turning the bounty in if I want to get any actual worth while gold from a bounty. At least with delivery missions you get paid a fixed amount. Speed run a $$$ bounty and you get like .08 gold and $20. Wait a few minutes for the same bounty and you get paid 0.32 gold and $40. I hate that that’s even the case.
The best way to deal with the enemies when selling moonshine is to stop and exit the wagon before getting to the blockades, kill all the enemies and then get in the wagon and continue driving. This helps keep them from damaging the moonshine
Get off the wagon before you activate the roadblock. Park it out of the way, seek cover and mow down the roadblock with your weapon of choice. It helps to have a friend to follow along in a wagon to be used as cover when necessary, especially in areas of sparse trees/cover.
One thing about the revenue agents stopping you, there is a chance that theyll check your wagon and find nothing, ive stopped ready to cap some fools but the guy checking just said hed guess whats in there as he was checking it and they just let me go P.s. i love your guides, im still a newer player but watching your videos have helped a ton tbh, got all roles up to lvl15+ so thank you bro
Im only 2 minutes in so idk if he mentioned this but another bonus tip If you talk to the French moonshine chef and just stay on that menu, you will never idle out of the game. You can turn your controller off and go watch videos or go out and get food or whatever else you wanna do to pass time and come back when the shine is done and keep selling it. I've literally done this all day at times not even really playing the game but just having it on for this purpose and jumping back on when its time to deliver, sell it, go back to start the next batch rinse and repeat. Theres a double money bonus this week so I've been essentially making 450 dollars every 50 minutes and I went from 5000 dollars to 19000 in a week of doing this. The game is basically working for me and I may never have to worry about being broke on here ever again lol
@@Langshot if you go to your pause menu and select progress, the awards option is in the upper right corner. There you'll find an array of categories you can earn awards for (think achievement kinda stuff, like sell 100 herbs to a doctor). Once you've completed one, you can reset it for .4 gold up to ten times.

TheBeaver50 just move your camp to cholla springs about 2 weeks ago I was a level 6 trader and I've maxed it out. Get a posse of 4 for resupply mission because every bag is 500 xp. Also if you get the wolfs all of them are 3 star so ur posse can take them to camp then go back for the bags. Hope this helps it really helps get xp as I've already maxed out my outlaw pass.

Just a quick piece of advice for now, the moonshiner role can also be unlocked via 5 gold bars to skip the trader requirement. So in total you would be spending around 30 gold bars with shack included. As opposed to paying another 15 gold for the trader role. Happy moon shining
Another tip: Barry cobbler is the easiest to make and second most profitable. There are raspberry bushes right outside the big valley shack location and a few yards west of valentine and the other two ingredients can be bought and maxed out at the store
I use the collector for $ and xp, bounty hunter for gold, and moonshine $ and xp, and because it's the most fun I think. The collector map from Jean is getting back up and running again 👍
Dimes災冬 after every moonshine story mission, the game spawns me in my non existing bar and I just get stuck in there. It took me forever to get out until I found out you can switch lobbies in the menu. The online portion is super buggy but it still keeps me coming back.
BOB poop I haven’t made a single dollar from moonshining. I bought the shack 3 days ago. I’ve completed all the story missions and done at least 10 bootleg missions but every single time I try to sell it, my game black screens. I can’t believe these are the same devs that gave us singleplayer.
Dimes災冬 honestly what I did was close the app then restart my console whenever I had loading issues or constant crashes. If that doesn’t work redownloading the game is another option just incase something got messed up during the download. That’s happened to me before with corrupted files with new dlc.
So for the bootleg missions to get 20 of 20 bottles to the client is easy. Just go in cinematic mode and drive it will not damage the goods. Always stop for the roadblock unless they say keep riding. 50/50 they check the wagen and let you go, or they find moonshine and start shooting. When they start shooting just jump of wagen and fight them by running away from the wagen. This way they wont damage the wagen and your goods are good. They will hunt you after a fight so you can keep aiming behind you to shoot the enemies and the horse will auto ride to the destination. 20 Bottles delivered.
After watching this and your other 3 videos about the roles in Red Dead Online, I’ve come to the conclusion that your videos are the best to watch for newcomers like myself who want to learn the ins and outs of these roles. So thank you and keep up the good work.
Btw when you buy the mash, it counts as a purchase from a store so after a while, you complete one of the trading awards and you can reset it and make gold
This role reminds me of the nightclub in GTA V. A very passive business that makes you a lot of money over time not requiring much effort and sort of including a lot of content

I think Rockstar should've done it like this: you get to choose one role you get for free when you start online for the fist time, and every role gives at least some gold, then as you progress in that role you can buy other roles.

I know this is old, but I’m sure people still watch it as the role hasn’t changed. So I want to add a couple of things. First, as far as buyers go, you do not have to flavor your moonshine immediately. If the buyer list is going to change before your moonshine is complete, you can flavor it after the buyer changes. Once it’s done distilling you can’t change it. Secondly, the bar does have a useful purpose even if you don’t plan to ever sell moonshine. Aside from the daily challenges, any moonshine that is distilled or distilling you can drink from your bar. Some of the special moonshines give very good bonuses so it’s like having free potions at your disposal. There is also coffee and almonds ready to go for a quick pick me up. The bar is not necessary but it does have some useful purposes. The decor doesn’t matter though and aside from fun and some daily challenges, the band serves no other purposes. Regardless of how you feel about roles, Moonshiners delivered the biggest role in terms of usefulness, fun, and money making. No, you won’t make gold but as a passive business and property it’s better than any other role.
Heres my tip for the delivery. Stop at the blockade but if you hear the word moonshine, then haul ass. But if you dont hear it then they'll just let ya pass 👍
I found myself wanting more story missions and the bar expansion is pointless because it dosent make the player any money I mean come on I spent 65 gold for everything and I feel they could have given us much more detail
I've made 8 gold bars in 3 days just from challenges from owning a bar lol. Soon I'll be making large profit off the bar alone let alone the passive business

If you plot an alternative route for your delivery you wint have to deal with roadblocks but can sometimes get attacked by bandits but they are no where near as deadly as the Revenue Agents.
here is hoping for a Outlaw and or Marshall role.. story missions, investigations, arrests/Heists, train robberies, holding up a store, robbing wagons...
you can actually skip the trader role step in getting the moonshiner role by paying a 5 gold bar fee on the moonshiner tab in the roles section in the progress tab if you don’t already have the trader or moonshiner role. so if you are only getting the trader role to get the moonshiner role you can save 10 gold bars by doing so.
Don't forget about the FREE 10 GOLD BARS + RACCOON HAT for turning on 2 step authentication in rockstar social club settings. Took me about 48 hours to get them in game.

I don’t get the whole “forcing micro transactions” I’ve played gta for along time. And they force it ALOT on there But red dead? It’s actually relaxed, and gold payouts feel fair, I felt like I really earnt the bounty hunter license when I first got it. Not too easy or too Grindy, I just hope they keep the economy steady and don’t ruin it with dlcs like they did gta
I bought the bar because I assumed it would generate a passive income... y'know, like owning a bar managed and run by other would IRL. Rockstar really dropped the ball on this one. Thought it'd be similar to owning the nightclub in GTA Online.
I have tried multiple times to have my game on Cinema View and deliver the moonshine, and I was able to pass the agents with no problem all those times that I have used Cinema View. Also, it doesn't damage the moonshine, because the character drive properly in the Cinema View, unless if you speed up which can cause a bit of damage but not as much as while you're driving. However, before you arrive to your destination you need to check the map because you might keep driving and the character will pass the delivery address as the road continues
Broski I’ve got 3 other roles bringing in cash. I’m not going for perfect deliveries, just that sweet sweet XP for better stuff so then I make back the money I lost in a never ending cycle of work and profit.
I don't like having to spend 25 Gold on the moonshining business but I like playing Red Dead Online with my best friend I got the game for $5 cause it was on a 90% sale and now we're playing it a lot and I just got the moonshine business and me and my friend are playing the SHIT out of this game and we're having a blast messing around with the missions and doing the bounty hunting while we're waiting
There are 3 possibilities not just 2 at the road block.. 1. they say to keep going 2. they stop you , then let you go on. 3. they attack after stopping you. AND for me #3 is "rare" so well worth stopping for them
The easiest way to deal with a roadblock is the park your wagon before you get to the red circle get out shoot all the guys then get back in and drive through it no damage taken to the wagon takes a little bit of time but not a lot you still have enough time to loot the bodies and get to the destination with minimal delay
There's 3 different outcomes if you stop at a blockade. 2 of those outcomes are positive, which means you have a 66% chance to go through the blockade untouched. Plowing through the blockade without stopping GUARANTEES they will shoot at you and follow you.
The role is fine but not great. I like that the role has three different mission types instead of just one or two. I used my free mash refill ticket then during my first delivery, the horse swerved off the trail and down a mountainside, destroying the wagon. Unlike the trader role when a delivery gets stolen or destroyed and you just have to restart the delivery without any lost resources, if the moonshine gets destroyed it's start from scratch. In my opinion, that is broken and should be the same as the trader. Thanks for this guide though, it's given me hope that I can make it thru a delivery without a total loss.
Thought it would take ages to get enough gold to unlock all roles, let alone rank 20 for 1 role, tempte you to purchase gold with real money, but I held back, enjoyed the game did daily challenges everyday, gang hideouts=treasure maps, level up every 10 levels from doing everything =treasure map, and now I'm level 120 with my next treasure map with all roles unlocked maxed out at rank 20 (except moonshiner, I'm rank 5 just started working on it now; thats why im here) not a dollar spent irl. Im glad it's this way, if it was any easier, the game would be more boring

@@umairramzan1991 if you can keep it going long term yes. You need to log in every day and even on the days you can't play, get on and do the easiest one etc. But is worth good amounts of gold if you maintain as long as you can.
@@umairramzan1991 at the moment the trader is one of the best roles whilst the collector is shuffled. The moonshiner is great when only one online. When you get a posse of friends or cool people you meet who are all max rank traders you can cycle and make mad bank.
The protect Lem mission... I forgot to get on the boat and had to fight on foot/horseback along the coast haha. Still managed to complete the mission though.

Everytime i start my moonshine, ill pick the $247 buyer and almost every time the buyer reset happens and every time its always buyers that pay $97 or $144 if im lucky. Im making strong shine now and lvl 11 and i dont see this role getting any better. For me the only good thing about it is the story missions.
Frankly, it's good that they charge 25 Gold Bars for the role. We are suppose to Roleplay those roles. If we could buy everything day 1 it would be really weird.

Here’s a even EASIER method you can get 600 exp for doing this until June 27 regular is 300 but go do a mission once you finished it and hear a DING! close app fast and open the game and you shouldn’t have a cool down of 20 mins then repeat. I did this under 4 hours I got lvl 20
4:00 started with the beta quit real quick because there was nothing to do. Came back for the roles and gave up because of the bars. Recently came back due to naturalist and somehow I had 30 so I got my naturalist role and it was boring as fuck. Enrolled as a bounty hunter but quit because my mate hated the game. Recently came back and have gotten into bounty hunter. It’s great fun and I’m beginning to make some actual bank (thanks Ella doyet (?))
TIP TO ANYONE NEW TO THE GAME. You can unlock the moonshiner without having the trader (you still need to pay the 25gold). All you need is a friend that has the trader role. Join their posse and play with them until they reach rank 5 and you should both unlock the moonshiner. Saves spending 25gold on the trader... unless you want the trader role.

Quite often if you just stop at the checkpoint they wave you through.

The Moonshiners role is easy to level up
Just start producing
Do the story
Do a bootlegger
Sell the shine
Repeat
Everytime I complete a story mission for the moonshiners it doesn’t give me moonshiner role xp

BOB poop I haven’t made a single dollar from moonshining. I bought the shack 3 days ago. I’ve completed all the story missions and done at least 10 bootleg missions but every single time I try to sell it, my game black screens. I can’t believe these are the same devs that gave us singleplayer.
Dimes災冬 honestly what I did was close the app then restart my console whenever I had loading issues or constant crashes. If that doesn’t work redownloading the game is another option just incase something got messed up during the download. That’s happened to me before with corrupted files with new dlc.
BOB poop yeah after I started closing app it started working more consistently, it’s a shame we have to find workarounds to such game breaking bugs.
So for the bootleg missions to get 20 of 20 bottles to the client is easy. Just go in cinematic mode and drive it will not damage the goods. Always stop for the roadblock unless they say keep riding. 50/50 they check the wagen and let you go, or they find moonshine and start shooting. When they start shooting just jump of wagen and fight them by running away from the wagen. This way they wont damage the wagen and your goods are good. They will hunt you after a fight so you can keep aiming behind you to shoot the enemies and the horse will auto ride to the destination. 20 Bottles delivered.
After watching this and your other 3 videos about the roles in Red Dead Online, I’ve come to the conclusion that your videos are the best to watch for newcomers like myself who want to learn the ins and outs of these roles. So thank you and keep up the good work.

Btw when you buy the mash, it counts as a purchase from a store so after a while, you complete one of the trading awards and you can reset it and make gold
This role reminds me of the nightclub in GTA V. A very passive business that makes you a lot of money over time not requiring much effort and sort of including a lot of content

I like my setup in tall trees, it's somewhat centrally located, and the area is rich in game to hunt while your waiting for your moonshine to brew
I think Rockstar should've done it like this: you get to choose one role you get for free when you start online for the fist time, and every role gives at least some gold, then as you progress in that role you can buy other roles.

The moonshine roadblock has three outcomes You pass by, you get stoped and pass by, and you get stoped and attacked
I know this is old, but I’m sure people still watch it as the role hasn’t changed. So I want to add a couple of things.
First, as far as buyers go, you do not have to flavor your moonshine immediately. If the buyer list is going to change before your moonshine is complete, you can flavor it after the buyer changes. Once it’s done distilling you can’t change it.
Secondly, the bar does have a useful purpose even if you don’t plan to ever sell moonshine. Aside from the daily challenges, any moonshine that is distilled or distilling you can drink from your bar. Some of the special moonshines give very good bonuses so it’s like having free potions at your disposal. There is also coffee and almonds ready to go for a quick pick me up.
The bar is not necessary but it does have some useful purposes. The decor doesn’t matter though and aside from fun and some daily challenges, the band serves no other purposes.
Regardless of how you feel about roles, Moonshiners delivered the biggest role in terms of usefulness, fun, and money making. No, you won’t make gold but as a passive business and property it’s better than any other role.

If the revenu men notice your moonshine just get of the wagon they ONLY shoot you.
Heres my tip for the delivery. Stop at the blockade but if you hear the word moonshine, then haul ass. But if you dont hear it then they'll just let ya pass 👍
One time he said "look what we got here, Moonshine!. " Then he let me go! Lol don't shoot them until the last minute!
Not always true! I had one say “we’re looking for illegal moonshine” and then let me pass. Don’t get out and start shooting until they say open fire

I found myself wanting more story missions and the bar expansion is pointless because it dosent make the player any money I mean come on I spent 65 gold for everything and I feel they could have given us much more detail

Use cinematic mode while driving wagon it will not damage the wagon but watch out for revenue agents
You could also just aim your gun

If you plot an alternative route for your delivery you wint have to deal with roadblocks but can sometimes get attacked by bandits but they are no where near as deadly as the Revenue Agents.
here is hoping for a Outlaw and or Marshall role.. story missions, investigations, arrests/Heists, train robberies, holding up a store, robbing wagons...
I'd prefer outlaw role tbh because the Marshall role sounds exactly the same as the bounty hunter role
This game is more than just a full time job, it’s a way of life. GTA 6 is going to be disturbingly immersive..
you can actually skip the trader role step in getting the moonshiner role by paying a 5 gold bar fee on the moonshiner tab in the roles section in the progress tab if you don’t already have the trader or moonshiner role. so if you are only getting the trader role to get the moonshiner role you can save 10 gold bars by doing so.
Don't forget about the FREE 10 GOLD BARS + RACCOON HAT for turning on 2 step authentication in rockstar social club settings. Took me about 48 hours to get them in game.

Railroad tracks fall into the “lava” category too-tried to sneak in St Denis via the rail bridge and lost 15 bottles without seeing a single revenuer.
If u don’t have a trader business you can pay a bonus 5 gold to skip the setup for the moonshine
Also if you get drunk on moonshine and then play with the band your character will play sloppy and mess up at times. I thought this was a nice touch.

But red dead? It’s actually relaxed, and gold payouts feel fair, I felt like I really earnt the bounty hunter license when I first got it. Not too easy or too Grindy, I just hope they keep the economy steady and don’t ruin it with dlcs like they did gta

I bought the bar because I assumed it would generate a passive income... y'know, like owning a bar managed and run by other would IRL. Rockstar really dropped the ball on this one. Thought it'd be similar to owning the nightclub in GTA Online.
I have tried multiple times to have my game on Cinema View and deliver the moonshine, and I was able to pass the agents with no problem all those times that I have used Cinema View. Also, it doesn't damage the moonshine, because the character drive properly in the Cinema View, unless if you speed up which can cause a bit of damage but not as much as while you're driving.
However, before you arrive to your destination you need to check the map because you might keep driving and the character will pass the delivery address as the road continues
Broski I’ve got 3 other roles bringing in cash. I’m not going for perfect deliveries, just that sweet sweet XP for better stuff so then I make back the money I lost in a never ending cycle of work and profit.
I am a rank 20 moonshiner and I love the roll so much. It's entertaining and makes good money and is another nice way to rack up gold from challenges
I don't like having to spend 25 Gold on the moonshining business but I like playing Red Dead Online with my best friend I got the game for $5 cause it was on a 90% sale and now we're playing it a lot and I just got the moonshine business and me and my friend are playing the SHIT out of this game and we're having a blast messing around with the missions and doing the bounty hunting while we're waiting
There are 3 possibilities not just 2 at the road block.. 1. they say to keep going 2. they stop you , then let you go on. 3. they attack after stopping you. AND for me #3 is "rare" so well worth stopping for them
The easiest way to deal with a roadblock is the park your wagon before you get to the red circle get out shoot all the guys then get back in and drive through it no damage taken to the wagon takes a little bit of time but not a lot you still have enough time to loot the bodies and get to the destination with minimal delay
There's 3 different outcomes if you stop at a blockade. 2 of those outcomes are positive, which means you have a 66% chance to go through the blockade untouched. Plowing through the blockade without stopping GUARANTEES they will shoot at you and follow you.

I've got all the roles bounty hunting, moonshine, and hunting camp when I get bored of one I go to the other lol a lot easier to be honest .

The role is fine but not great. I like that the role has three different mission types instead of just one or two. I used my free mash refill ticket then during my first delivery, the horse swerved off the trail and down a mountainside, destroying the wagon. Unlike the trader role when a delivery gets stolen or destroyed and you just have to restart the delivery without any lost resources, if the moonshine gets destroyed it's start from scratch. In my opinion, that is broken and should be the same as the trader.
Thanks for this guide though, it's given me hope that I can make it thru a delivery without a total loss.

Thought it would take ages to get enough gold to unlock all roles, let alone rank 20 for 1 role, tempte you to purchase gold with real money, but I held back, enjoyed the game did daily challenges everyday, gang hideouts=treasure maps, level up every 10 levels from doing everything =treasure map, and now I'm level 120 with my next treasure map with all roles unlocked maxed out at rank 20 (except moonshiner, I'm rank 5 just started working on it now; thats why im here) not a dollar spent irl. Im glad it's this way, if it was any easier, the game would be more boring
weird, the traffic stop cops never let me pass by, they always ask me to stop and then just talk to me and say "well. the wagons clean. move along"

If you join someone's posse who is doing a delivery as trader, then I think you can go straight to moonshiner that way.

@@umairramzan1991 if you can keep it going long term yes. You need to log in every day and even on the days you can't play, get on and do the easiest one etc. But is worth good amounts of gold if you maintain as long as you can.
@@umairramzan1991 at the moment the trader is one of the best roles whilst the collector is shuffled. The moonshiner is great when only one online. When you get a posse of friends or cool people you meet who are all max rank traders you can cycle and make mad bank.

Moonshiner is way easier with friends bc some of the missions get hard at times
I just sit back before the checkpoint and go to the side to avoid the wagon getting shot. Shot them all down and continue on with no issues.
Everytime i start my moonshine, ill pick the $247 buyer and almost every time the buyer reset happens and every time its always buyers that pay $97 or $144 if im lucky. Im making strong shine now and lvl 11 and i dont see this role getting any better. For me the only good thing about it is the story missions.
Frankly, it's good that they charge 25 Gold Bars for the role. We are suppose to Roleplay those roles. If we could buy everything day 1 it would be really weird.
Man I remember I use to and still do grind out my daily challenges for months to get enough gold for the roles and outlaw pass 😄
people always whinge. The price is steep to cause longevity. I would have a problem with this is there was no free way to get gold, but there is. Get on, Go grind, git gud, git gold, easy as that

to any of you who planned to get moonshine role to farm money just forget it. get collector role first. much worth it.
Here’s a even EASIER method you can get 600 exp for doing this until June 27 regular is 300 but go do a mission once you finished it and hear a DING! close app fast and open the game and you shouldn’t have a cool down of 20 mins then repeat. I did this under 4 hours I got lvl 20

4:00 started with the beta quit real quick because there was nothing to do. Came back for the roles and gave up because of the bars. Recently came back due to naturalist and somehow I had 30 so I got my naturalist role and it was boring as fuck. Enrolled as a bounty hunter but quit because my mate hated the game. Recently came back and have gotten into bounty hunter. It’s great fun and I’m beginning to make some actual bank (thanks Ella doyet (?))
TIP TO ANYONE NEW TO THE GAME. You can unlock the moonshiner without having the trader (you still need to pay the 25gold). All you need is a friend that has the trader role. Join their posse and play with them until they reach rank 5 and you should both unlock the moonshiner. Saves spending 25gold on the trader... unless you want the trader role.
Love your tutorials … they’ve helped me out a ton as I tackled RDO this past month. One question tho … how can I get that snazzy red sweater with the Native American designs on it?! Hopefully it wasn’t part of the outlaw pass because in 2022 that’s finished smh
