As the only remaining commercial ship operating on this part of South Yorkshire it plys its trade between Hull and Rotherham.
We head up the New Junction Canal, a five and a half mile straight stretch of water that takes you to the Aire and Calder Canal - what do we encounter along the way?

Creates quite a wash, even when you go past. Moored up you definitely feel your boat move even though it passes you slowly!
Hi Guy's, The exol tanker usually hits new junction around 6/7am on Wednesday's arrives in Rotherham 2/3pm leaves Rotherham 6/7am Thursday's.
I love wild mooring about 100yrds down after turning left at New junction, No phone signal at Pollington. Take care x

Jan and Tony. I checked with Google and they have quite allot of information on that oil tanker. Gives its current location, etc. I can't get over how clear and sharp your videos are , especially on bright sunny days. Curious: do you get a little squeamish going under those "guillotines"? I don't recall ever seeing these waterways your now traveling on with any other youtube narrowboat people. Lots of new sights I don't recall seeing before. Thanks for sharing with us all. Thanks Sandi. That maybe the same info we found because it has GPS onboard but think it only works when it's out at sea.
We wanted to try new locations this year and I think because getting here means going on tidal waters it may not be to everyone's taste hence why you don't see this part of the country as much as you do with popular locations like the Llangollen or the Oxford Canal.
That canal is a bit too wide for me, more like the English Channel but thanks for the video. Also thanks for putting yourself forward as a CRT boater's representative; you have my vote and I hope you are successful.

@@MakingNewMemories That's sad, just heard that Chris Mears also failed to get elected. Dam, we do need genuine boaters on the panel, I await with interest to see who did get elected but thanks for trying.

Another good vlog with great views of the country side. Had to laugh at the start when you gave a small intro as what to expect, you said a sharp left turn as the horn blow, sounded like you had bad wind !. Take care safe travels, and have a happy christmas if your not shown before then

I've tried a couple of bendy type clamps which didn't work but then looked for a magic arm and found this:

Which is what I now use and it keeps the gopro fixed solid to a decorators pole I've got fixed the the front of the 'A' frame of the cratch.
