    I bought the 474 when it 1st came out and I Love it!! My property has wetland on it (FL.) and with the locking Dif. available has gotten me out of a few O.S. situations. Plenty of HP just be aware that it has more A!@ than it has A!@ if that makes since (Almost flipped it picking up things I should not have been. Lesson learned) I had to make a concrete counter balance for the back but if you get the box blade for it, that works as well. All in all, I've worked the crap out of my TYM ( brush hogging, moving dirt, box blading, moving logs with the grappler etc.) and it has never let me down.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  3 роки тому

      I have never had any problems getting parts. John Deere dealers use to say, you can't get parts for Kubota. I walked in to my dealer last week and picked up every part I needed for my service. All on the shelf. I broke my brake light switch when a big limb pushed into it. Ordered and it was there in 4 days. The main thing is, I have not needed many parts.

      I am saying TYM's supply chain is as good as any brand. Every brand has had parts slow downs during the virus. I think it is over for most all brands as they have put new processes in place. Please remember, you are just talking with a guy here, and your comment about Kubota came across as you being a butt. I do not work for TYM. I have a T503 and have to say I've liked it up to recently. Actually I still do, it's the customer service parts I'm hating. I've heard the horror stories but now I'm living them. My dealer closed a couple years after I purchased mine. Recently the ignition switch started acting up. It doesn't return to run properly leaving me without any accessories, (gauges, radio, air etc.). You can play with it and usually get it to come in but it's getting harder and harder, last time I started it after putting in a new battery it was near impossible to get engaged. I've got a list of four dealers within 250 miles of me none of whom even seem to care about selling a switch or helping a new customer. I have been left with the last one who told me they didn't have one, there's none in the parts warehouse, they will have to have shipped from South Korea, looking at maybe two months. No way of verifying so I could wait two months to maybe find out everything go lost in the mail. I don't know, the tractors are nice and you can save a lot of money but if you really rely on your tractor I don't know that any foreign made tractor especially a TYM is worth the money if their not going to back them and their customers up.

    Does this have DPF system where there is an OBDII or is it all mechanical like the Branson 3515? I am looking for a new tractor (first tractor owner) but I don't want to deal with electronics (I already do day on my cars, don't need that on my tractor) I was leaning toward the Branson 3515, but then since TYM bought Branson, not sure what's going to happen to that brand. Is the cab worth the additional cost? I live in northern NH where we average over 100" of snow a year, so the sound of a heated cab sounds amazing, not sure it is worth an additional 10K or whatever it costs. I've narrowed my selection to TYM 474, Branson 3515h or Yanmar SA425DHX.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  2 роки тому +1

      Branson is TYM. TYM bought the whole company. The T474, T494, T574 use a mechanical engine with a Regen system on top. It could be removed if needed. My T474 has not gone through Regen in 250 hours. It has never given me the first problem.

      I think TYM is doing things the way many of the old famous brands use to do. They are making heavy well made tractors at a value. The cab tractors I have used have excellent A/C; however, if it is a 100 degrees outside, no tractor will freeze you out. To much glass.

    Hey Tony - what is your feeling about the stability between the 474 and the 574 sitting beside the 474? I know the center of gravity is going to be higher on 574 but it is also wider with wider tires. When you were sitting in the 474 you look pretty low since the rear wheels on the 474 are relatively small.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  4 роки тому

      The T574 crosses over to a utility tractor IMO. The T474 is a compact utility Tractor. They both have their own place depending on what you want to do.

  • @311hitwall
    @311hitwall 4 роки тому +1

    One other thing to consider is the weight. Yeah this tractor has the same engine as the 494 but weighs about 600 lbs less. Isn't that a consideration when you need to get the power to the ground? The 494 also lifts about 1200 more lbs at 24 inches than the 474.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  4 роки тому +2

      The 494 is in another class of tractor. It is much bigger and heavier. It also cost more. The T494 is on the same tractor frame as the T554. I am not sure why they numbered it that way. The T494 is an awesome tractor too. I still say the T474 is one of the best bang for the bucks in its size of tractor. I want one. LOL. Especially with the cab. We have some hot hot summers here in TN. So much humidity and pollen.

    • @311hitwall
      @311hitwall 4 роки тому +2

      @@TonysTractorAdventure Isn't that something to consider though - the weight? I have always heard tractors need weight to get the power to the ground. Kind of like a car with a lot of HP - if it just sits there and spins what good is all that HP. I guess it comes down to what you plan on doing with it. I think the 574 and 494 have the same frame - same size tires anyway. All the other specs are the same that i can see.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  4 роки тому

      The first thing every potential purchaser should do is ask, what am I going to do with the tractor. Size the tractor to the job, but there is always a bigger tractor. Find what will fit your job, then look at the different brands, and then find the best fit that your budget will allow. I know one guy who bought a 40hp Tractor with only 2 1/2 acres of land just so he could have a bigger tractor than his neighbor. He never uses it. He should have bought a subcompact tractor like the T224. That would have been perfect for him.

      You are correct. After going to look it does have numbers but the number line is so far away from the lever you can’t see it when in the tractor seat, at least on my tractor it is. Guess I can use tape to copy over the numbers so they will be visible from the seat while operating.

    I have a tym 474 tractor with 24hrs. On it and the starter is bad. It hung into the flywheel and burned the starter up. Left me sitting with no way to start it

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  Рік тому +1

      I know this doesn't make you feel better, but TYM doesn't make the starter. The company that makes them also makes starters for almost half of the other brands. I hate that you are going through that but it happens.

    • @charleswood5342
      @charleswood5342 Рік тому

      I realize tym doesn't make the starter but I feel they should get a starter to me as the tractor is now useless. They don't have parts available for problems like this. Right now I am sorry I purchased this machine. Because of the parts inevitability.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  Рік тому +1

      I have broken a few things on my tractor. I was always able to get parts within a few days. It may be a dealer issue. Reach out to me on my website through the contact page. I know a lot of TYM people.

      I never talk prices on the channel. Things change to often that I don't know about. Best to just call a dealership.

    Why,why,why is it these review videos never tell you the PRICE ! It’s got this....it’s got that.... how much is it???

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  3 роки тому +1

      It is way more complicated than that. Just like a car, it cost more in some place and less in others based on the location. If you are interested in the price give the dealership a call.
      We never give prices on our channel. These videos stay out here for ever and prices change often.

    I noticed that 474 doesn't have telescoping links like the one at the show. Not liking the way that hydro sounds.

      They are putting the telescoping links on the new ones. He can get it for this one too. It sounds fine in person. The microphone is focused on my voice.

      @@TonysTractorAdventure I just thought the hydro was pretty noisy especially when you did an abrupt stop and start around 7:20. That 574 makes the 474 look small. I guess that 574 is way too big to use around the house?

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  4 роки тому

      @@311hitwall it sounds like every other Hydrostatic transmission to me in person. Plus it is brand new and tight. I loved the feel of it in person. The T474 is a capable tractor. It would be a bit much for the yard, but great for a 40 acre farm. Even some special purpose applications. I did a lot more videos of it moving around, but I forgot to turn my microphone on.

    • @311hitwall

      @@TonysTractorAdventure My brother has a NH TC40 from 2003 and I guess it is prob around the same size. He uses it to plug the yard, etc and I have seen what he can do with the tractor so I keep telling myself if I get something smaller I will regret it - lol. Plus when you get to the smaller tractors they don't have some of the same features. I just hate to have $20K+ tied up in something that sits there most of the year.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  4 роки тому

      Things to think about. The smaller T224 will mow in wetter conditions with less damage to the soil and grass. The T474 will damage grass in tight turns. If you have a big 5 acre yard to mow in straight lines, maybe a big tractor. I look at what the primary job is. The smaller tractor may make bigger none primary jobs take longer, but they don't come around as often. I wish the T264 came with an AC Cab.
