I had a white cabbed FORD 8340 SLE , it had over 10000 hrs on the clock, great pulling machine, comfortable to drive for them long days flogging silage trailers, don't see many under £15,000 nowadays, Thanks for the video Willie 👍
the explorer 55 and 65 were the over looked ones, bit of a cross over model, would love a tidy one myself. the rarity of them make them real interesting, and they are still useful
Good night janes amd and Max molly and wife I love watching all your UA-cam videos on your UA-cam channel I hope that you are all well wheres everyone tonight I think you have done well getting Max involved in helping around the farm please keep safe and warm please keep up your good work on your you tube channel
Hi James + Mike, Go for it get the Same you know you want it, it's a little rough but that's it , Its not rotten it will be a good little tractor for you. But saying that the New Holland looks a good one, just a thought.......... great video catch you soon take care
I have a Ford 8340 1993 white top of cab ford on side of the bonnet ford badge on the front ,love it, its non turbo as I think im not sure that it was the newholland ones that was lightly turbo on them sle gearbox was standard on the 8240 and 8340
New Holland looks very tidy the SL is a better model less to go wrong the Same is good and with a little tlc will be a good buy for the right price go for it best of luck at the auction
the same 65. looks not too far gone at all ...... good little tractor will run all day on 6 gallons of diesel ...... the ford will make strong money on the day .... the same would shine up well and turn you a few quid ......!
Hi James Nice one taking Mike out for the day Fermec I think was MF industrial Same if the price is right another project ford would be nice Have a good weekend Thanks again
ford SL range were more reliable than the SLE tractors but the 40 series were good tractors ......in my opinion all the best tractors were made in the 90's ...ford 40 series, case 56 series, mf 300 series, john deere 6000,6010 series, there all going up in value now
Digger would be so cool, my uncle has one and they are hella handy machines as far as I can tell. Have only watched until 2:06 so thinking that or the ford/new holland would be a nice buy
Hi James, great video, that’s a tidy 8340 remarkably the paint is good none of the black undercoat showing. The Same is more my budget too I’ve just had a John Deere 6120m on hire for a week cos our 1494 broke down and it was absolutely lovely the only problem is I’ve got to find £90k to buy it 😔👍
had 7740 SLE. back in 95/96. gearbox did that shit itself thing. traded in for 7840 SL only 12 months old. she were MINT!!!! wound her up and she road speed nearly 33mph! did 2 years with her. wasn't really needed and it went in exchange for a 7740 SL. still have it on the farm. wonderful tractors.
don't ask why.... coz I don't know.... but she had a queer set of shoes on her that were larger than standard diameter.... with 108 mitchins. the 108s were meant to equalise it to 40..... but didn't.... she were into the high 20s. then.... as said.... opening the pump up FAR to much..... 👌 How'd we know? pal had a puch-maxi & his dad had a Satnav WITH gps time speed ( in 96' that was a big deal 😂) and he chased me down.... and literally put his foot on rear drawbar as we cut along on way to go go-kart racing. looking back.... it were fecking stupid. 😅 but.... 15 / 16 year olds... 🎉
The newholland would be the better option, one thing about the later 40 series newhollands is that have external solenoids and the early white roof ford ones had internal solenoids. Bugger to sort out when the gearbox goes pear shaped like it will at some point
We have had fords all through the years and had 2 7740s which I didn’t think much of ! We still have an 8360 which is a good enough tractor but we also have a T7030 and T7040 which a very good reliable comfortable tractors so it’s bullshite to say that the 40 series were the last of the good blues

what did you have to do to get 33 out of it? fuel?
Wide the pump open I recon, they would shift though for sure.
Nice! Our 7840 use to do 44k and she was singing.

@@johnearle6667NOPE 😂 It is when no other tractor proceeded it on our farm 👍 😂
Never seen a 40 series on a V plate before
Must have been one of the last.
All looks like work to me.
Newholland 8340 is 125 houes power
It is a big old beast for what a 100hp?
If there ain't no oil under um there ain't no oil in um!
bid on same give it spray
I'm totally with you on the 8340! I grew up with 7810's 7840's and 5140's on the farm 💪👍
Love them, shame New Holland ruined it tbf 😂 imo
Yu better dig deep if yu want the new holland 😊
But the 2 them you will make money on both then gems
8340s only come in SLE , how does a person who was raised on blue tractors end up with a same !
I did wonder this earlier, thanks for confirming. 7840 all the way when I can afford one 👍🏼
New holland will bring crazy ££ the same looks a bit tired 😢😢
Fermec -was MF ??
Don't get 8340 with.sldp. only sle
