Have you ever talk about grizzle « mutation », even if it’s not really a mutation but more a sickness that’s doesn’t harm birds ( if I get it right ? ) ?
Hi Clyde just found your channel and enjoying watching them,l live in Gippsland Victoria 🇦🇺 20 years ago when I first got Gouldians you had to have them in a closed Avery environment because of the cold climate so I stop breeding them because of my other birds that I had . Two years ago I got back into breeding Gouldians because local breeders have got them climatisation to the weather in my area as long as they are out of the wind
That is great that you got back into them. I love the challenge of self raising them. Glad you enjoying the show. I will be publishing some episodes again soon.
You've shared a lot of great information and it's background. I've been breeding Lady Gouldians for over 10 years now. I have them in a colony outdoor aviary here in California. What I'd like you've mentioned is that you do fostering with society finches which I've never done since the beginning. Will be following your channel and thank you for sharing.
Hi Alex I will see if I can find a breeder that has used Society finches for foster. I don't even own a pair so I have never personally tried it. Thanks for feedback. I'm glad you have enjoyed it so far.
Its the third year I got gouldian finch but this is the first time I’m really studying the complexity of the birds, and goddam your channel look like the perfect things that I needed thanks a lot !
I sold all my stock I collected and bred last year - would have been all my own birds this year if I'd kept and chose what to breed out of what I had. I just bought a pair of blue gouldian - I found out all my stock sold was actually sought after I sold unfortunately as I have a strict look and feeding/keeping resime that seems to produce the birds found in the wild. I live in Australia so can see them in the wild here.
Hello sir..I have some Gouldian finch pair and i use society finch as foster pair. Suddenly society finch stop feeding Gouldian baby and the baby expire in few days. Please tell me reason and solution and medicine. Help me. From-India.,Kolkata.
Hi Borhan. I don't personally use society finches at all so it is difficult for me to give you an answer. I did however speak to a friend that does use them. He commented that in his experience they don't just stop feeding unless there is a reason. The only thing that would make sense is if there was an problem with the chick that they picked up on and gave up on it knowing it would not survive. Sorry I can't give you a more specific answer.
Hi Sebastian. The club does have a instagram which I get the notices for. You can also click the email link on our channel and send us an email. Thanks
