Amazing Australian Wildlife, enjoyed a lot. Reminds me of a book on the subject read long time ago in 1990 borrowed from a friend of mine. Thanks for the download.
Thank you for these wonderful videos! Great job introducing the birds and ID points. We are very excited about our vacation in Australia this September and hope to see lots of different birds.
Greg and Alana, I ve watched all your videos and have loved your trips places birds and narration. Brilliant work. Hope to bird Australia sometime in the future
Th a t was a wonderful video, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Sadly, I can't those kind of adventures but would have liked so much to have been there. 92 now and the legs are no longer to . Thank you, it was really entertaining.
New viewer. Adore birds and have seen many of these. I have travelled alot of this amazing country of ours. Was great to revisit with you guys and to see the many beautiful birds I have missed along the way. So very informative and gorgeous photography. Thank you so very much.
As wonderful as always! It's lovely to see what you get up to on your birding trips and you make the video so interesting - even for non-birders like me.
I'm known as Jen I'm wheelchair bound I have rainbow lorikeets created pigeons peewees magpie larks, sparrows and sometimes red bowed finches I sometimes throw out seed for them I love watching them.
I do the same in SA on our back porch with seed Jen. Crested Pigeons like you have and Eastern Rosellas. Always the very confident Magpies strutting about. Love their singing. Would love to see Red-Brows but alas, the Noisy Miners have driven out so many backyard species.
So many beautiful birds are from Australia. I see so many in pet shops. Those are unfortunately the unlucky ones but am glad at least Ghoulian finches have been successfully bred for commercial purposes. The 2500 or less left in nature is alarming.
That was really nice. Nice filming and good clear narration. Especially the highlight given to finches. Among my top favourites. So many years since I have been to several of these places. (The RAOU congress in Katherine in 1981 and camp out at Top Springs). Although I missed finding Gouldian Finches and Star Finches. Sorry just one little suggestion for next time, The pronunciation of the word "insectivorous" is given wrongly each time, as though it is "Insectivirus".
Interested that you got the Red Goshawk at Mataranka Springs. I got it there in 2005 and I'm wondering what year you saw it there. I used to run tours up there and got all the birds you did except for the Yellow-rumped Mannikin (dammit). Your Blue Argus was the bluest I've ever seen!
Hi Ricki, I've checked our records and it was 29th July 2007 that we saw the Goshawk nesting in a very tall tree beside a caravan park at Mataranka. It was a most memorable sighting because we had rented a cabin for a couple of nights and from my bunk I could look straight out the door at the goshawk on its nest.Never before or since have I ever had such comfortable birding!
Hi Christine, the trip was approx 1400 kms not counting the driving around we did between sites at Kakadu and the trip to Mataranka and back which we did previously for Red Goshawk, which is another 200kms . If that sounds daunting it's not, because the roads are excellent and all sealed. People travel very fast! We took a fortnight. We flew back to Darwin from Kununurra. It's a pity to have to hurry though, as you never know what good drinking spots might pop up. We did do some driving on dirt roads off the highway and as an experienced birder you know that offers some of the best birding opportunities. Hope you will be able to do your Aussie trip some day.

Increíble la variedad y colorido de aves en un sitio tan seco y caluroso.
You glossed over the Apostlebird, it is the most crazy intelligent bird I have seen next to the magpie.
Thanks for pointing that out. Yes, certainly didn't mean to be dismissive of such a wonderfully charismatic species.

Yes. We'd love to bird in the Cerrado plus see its wonderful biodiversity.
Can those birds be exported to other countries? I am interested to know
Illegally only. They suffer from illegal trapping and being smuggled overseas. So cruel.
