When I see Jack Kirby's art presented digitally I get reminded of when I had good eyesight still. When I see his art I still get that same feeling of excitement, joy and anticipation that I did 50 years ago when I first discovered comics here in the UK. Jack Kirby is my all time favourite artist, whatever the medium but, that's probably just reflecting my age which coincided with the last few years of when he was drawing loads of comics at the same time for DC & Marvel, 'King' Kirby's iconic drawing of Captain America is always what I imagine when 'Cap's' name is brought up. The king is dead long live the king. R.I.P.
I am freakishly obsessed wish marvels cosmic stories in comics. I own most of the comics shown in this video and just wanted to say GREAT job man, great job. You covered it beautifully and it's 100% legit.
I find it interesting that Is galactus actually considers reed richards His friend And it's also interesting to know that franklin richards He is eventually going to go through the same process as When the current marvel universe no longer exists
Marvelite, I love your origin stories because you go deeper indebt and tell us unknown facts about these characters than their original origin stories, so keep up the good work.
The most Cosmic history of......... yet. I always loved that Kirby put that capital G in the center of his chest. Very Superman-like, yet completely absurd at the same time. How about a video cataloging the position of "Herald of Galactus"? Just a quick run down of every herald in the order of when they served Galactus and how they left their position as herald. As always, MAKE MINE THE MERRY MARVELITE!!!!
Hello there Merry Marvelite. I just wanted to say thank you so much for this great video dealing with Galactus. I really found the information to be amazing and absolutely marvelous. Can't wait for the next exciting installment of the History of the Marvel Universe. Until then I hope that you and everyone else in this community have a fantastic day. Peace Out & Excelsior to All
This truly made me change my views on Galactus. I often would be like "Galactus aint evil, he's just a force of nature, etc" but now that I know about him twisting his moral compass so he could eat populated planets... well now that explains why he IS a villain
Idea for marvel. Make a movie about galactus. Dont tell anybody its about galactus. Just a back story on the planet tah and galan. Then end the movie on galan loses his universe. Post credit scene is galan becoming galactus and connects to the MCU
Bad idea. They would make Galactus a black woman and change all the other entities into white men who are oppressing Galactus. Galactus would still be a bad guy, killing entire planets and such but it would be ok because hes oppressed.
Can you do history of the characters mentioned in this video? Are you going to do history of Shalla-Bal Silver Surfer and the other Heralds of Galactus like Firelord and Terrax?
I heard some of this also that was shown on the old fantastic four show I always did wonder how he came to be you make it easy to understand unlike most
Can you do history of the Living_Brain, the Elementals, Cyclone, Hydro Man, Molten Man, Puck, Ahab, Rom_the_Spaceknight, Stingray, Noh-Varr Marvel_Boy, Starbrand, Nightmask, Ava Ayala the White Tiger, Crossfire, Living Laser, Century, Lore and Technovore?
Man, seeing Galactus get turned into a giant subservient gun in the Annihilation series was satisfying. His subsequent rage and escape was pretty awesome too.
Here's an interesting question. What's the Best comic book story you've read and saddest thing you've read in a comic book One of the saddest ones i've read Is a marvel what if story We're susan's storm dies giving birth to franklin Honestly pretty good Story but honestly very said but Namor Actually surprise me In that story Because for his love for susan She would honor her member By help reed Raise franklin
Can you do history of the Elementals(Hellfire, Magnum, Hydron and Zephyr), Bastion, Master Mold, Nimrod, Inferno, Zora_Vukovic Victorious, Night Nurse, Lilandra, Death bird, Lady-Lotus, Sundragon and Phyla_Vell along with the Supreme Intelligence, Puppet_Master, Diablo, Mole_Man and Angel Salvador/Tempest along with Exodus and Ex-Nhilo?
In a volume of What If?, the villain Korvac caused a resurrected Captain America to destroy Galactus with the Ultimate Nullifier; and later, used the same weapon to destroy Eternity and the universe he dwelt in, as well as himself.
I really like the Galactus battle in the Avengers Lego video game. Even in a Lego game, he's terrifying. Yes, I know he does the num num num thing, but still.
Stan lee, jack kirby, Roy Thomas, John and sal buscema, Jim steranko, Steve ditko, herb trimpe, gentleman gene colan, jazzy John romita sr. All hail to you who created marvel’s golden age and overtook DC in 1972. Who else remember- Two More triumphs for marvel
Wait 8? What happened to 7? Galan of taa flew into the implosion of the 5th firmament and became Galactus in the 6th. Which is what we are in now. Franklin is from the 6th one. So what happened to the 7th?
At 16:13 you say that Galactus is not considered an abstract entity, but I thought that he was the embodiment of Necessity itself? I could totally be wrong but I thought that that was his title because what he was doing was a necessary. And if he didn't do it the universe would over populate? And he was necessary and if he didn't do his job then Abraxes would appear and just destroy everything! But I'm probably totally wrong though lol.
Hello everyone. The Tinkerbell deal is that it was that a few times. I've seen a bunch of different ones but I bet if we watch the older vhs we can find it.
Okay… so are you erroneously saying “multiverse” or was something retconned? Or when you say multiverse do you mean the negative zone, dark dimension, realms such as Asgard, Midgard, hel, etc, micro verse, and so on as a multiverse. Like how universe 616 has multiple planes of existence within it? To my knowledge the multiverse has reset a few times. And by multiverse I mean the one that has universe 616 (not 616 as a multiverse)… but Galactus, as far as I know was in the previous universe (I would assume 615) and was the last surviving being from that universe. But other universes in the multiverse have a different, but similar, being in them. Like Gah Lak Tus (or however it’s spelled) from 1610 (ultimate universe). Are the number designations just different timelines? How does that work?
He may have said it wrong but lemme explain. 1 universe includes all the realms of existence, normal earth called midgard, asgard niflheim etc. Dark dimension heaven hell negative zone all of it. 1 universe. Many such universes make up a multiverse. Many multiverses exist. They all together are called para or omniverse, barely referenced. This also includes beyond verses. Everything above is a part of the 6th firmament. We are in the 6th firmament. Regardless of universe number, marvel 615 is still in the 6th firmament. There was no multiverse but a single plane of existence during the previous 5th firmament. As that "universe" ie the entire 5th firmament was imploding, galan of planet taa drove his spaceship into the singularity. He was accepted by the life energy of existence itself and made part of itself. To be born into the next firmament. And thus a version of Galactus is born with each universe (with rare exceptions) and regardless of universe number, everything is still in the current 6th firmament still. Unless this has been further changed or retconned recently.
Since the Transformers exist in the Marvel Universe AND since Galactus often appears to be of the races who behold him... is it possible that Unicron is actually Galactus?
The way Marvel fused science with myths, stories, religions (notably the Abrahamic ones), heroes, villains and gods from our past and then fused them together (ignoring any contradiction) with the science facts, theories and even crackpot ideas of our own times to create an ever evolving creation myth for the Marvel universe was genius, and an important reason why DC trailed behind in 2nd place for so long, because DC seemed to treat their characters and earth versions in a general sort of isolation, of course they had team up's, the Brave and the Bold , JLA, JSA etc. but there didn't seem to be any universal structure that held DC lore together.
What do you think is the best thing about Galactus in the comics compared to Kang the Conqueror, Thanos, Annihilus and Tryco Slatterus the Champion of the Universe? Which one of his powers and abilities do you think is the best?
So, do the infinity stones represent the prior six infinities? Each one a remnant? And has there ever been a story where the comrades of Galan (Galactus) were ressurected somehow?
What was up with the Black Winter and what was up with the Sentience of the Sixth Cosmos that turned Galan into Galactus after his universe was no more? How would the heroes deal with this cosmic entity without the Ultimate Nullifier?
Can you do history of S'ym, Shroud, Master Pandemonium, Sleepwalker, D'Spayre, Lilith, Chthon, Mephisto, Black heart, Dormammu, Doyle Dormammu, Clea, Nightmare and Pkzkrfmknna along with Crystal, Magma and Vance_Astrovik AKA Justice?
In the original Stan Lee/Jack Kirby Origin of Galactus, Thor had succumbed to "Warrior Madness". For penance, Odin sent him out into the Universe to discover the Origin of Galactus. Which was: Galactus and a bunch of his people were on a spaceship that was pulled into an "exotic" sun. The radiation killed all but Galactus...who lived and was transformed into the energy seeking world-destroyer we all know and love. (The Mighty Thor #168, et als).
In an issue of the Fantastic Four, Galactus was placed on trial. Before that, Dr. Strange caused Galactus to collapse by raising up the ghosts of all the beings Galactus had ever killed, which shut down his mind.
I would love to see a video on either The X-Man Nate Grey or Ben Reilly The Scarlet Spider, Both 90's made and both totally trashed by Marvel in the end
Are you going to do history of Ironheart, M'Baku, Namora, Attuma and Shuri as the Black Panther since they played a major role in the Black Panther Wakanda Forever movie?
When I see Jack Kirby's art presented digitally I get reminded of when I had good eyesight still. I've been a Silver Surfer fan since I was a child. But this is the best Galactus origins I have ever read or seen.

I always tought that letter G was stand for God.
We were supposed to see Galactus in our own image so it makes sense
Ever since finding out his backstory I always assumed the G was for Galen.
Which incidentally means "insane" in Swedish.

Wow. The last time I saw these pages the comic was on the sales rack. Great traveling back with this review!

Never knew about the Galactus' origin story, I thoroughly enjoyed how you narrated this. Thank you! Just subscribed.

Mind NOT blown.

Yo yo yo. Thank you. Your content is awesome. I watch all the time. I'll try to get all my likes in.
I opened up YT and this is the first video I saw.
I had the comic that explained Galactus' origins when I was a kid (and that was either late 70s or early 80s; don't recall exactly when). :)

I feel so dumb but is that why there are six infinity stones, represent the previous 6 infinities or w/e
I love how the main Marvel timeline ends on Franklin Richards becoming the next Galactus for the 8th incarnation of the cosmos.
Wait 8? What happened to 7? Galan of taa flew into the implosion of the 5th firmament and became Galactus in the 6th. Which is what we are in now. Franklin is from the 6th one. So what happened to the 7th?

Hey quick question 🙋♀️ are the black winter and the void the same thing? 🤔
Are we going to see Galactus with the Power Cosmic in the MCU? Is the Ultimate Nullifier going to be the replacement for the Infinity Gauntlet?
In the original Stan Lee/Jack Kirby Origin of Galactus, Thor had succumbed to "Warrior Madness". For penance, Odin sent him out into the Universe to discover the Origin of Galactus. You should get a galactus action figure it has a huge extremely and umcomfortably bright pink helment
So when are you going to do history of Zora_Vukovic Victorious since you did the history of Dr_Doom?
Sick
Speaking of the Silver Surfer, Since you did the history of Norin-Radd Silver Surfer, Are you going to do history of Shalla-Bal Silver Surfer?
This got pretty deep.
Wonder if Disney's version will have the big "G" in the middle of his chest as in the comic...classic.
Less carnival barker and more Sir Richard Attenborough.
Galactus was the inspiration for Unicron
In an issue of the Fantastic Four, Galactus was placed on trial. Before that, Dr. Strange caused Galactus to collapse by raising up the ghosts of all the beings Galactus had ever killed, which shut down his mind.
