I did a bunch of experiments with rustoleum. What I can tell you is that the gloss white, if you mix it with mineral spirits, it loses it's gloss. Lots of people claim that they thinned out their rustoleum and rolled it on, and I'm gonna say these people are lying. Maybe acetone is different. But I tried many times and many different ratios, and it is not possible to make gloss white rustoleum thinned with mineral spirits gloss. But fortunately, I also found that thinning it did nothing to speed up the drying time either., even with japan drier. It's 24 hours no matter what. So I just used the paint straight out of the can. After 24 hours It's dry enough for another coat. After 3 coats leave it for a week. After a week sand with 400, and work your way up to as high a grit as you can. I wet sanded with 3000. And when I say wet sand I mean flowing water not a spray bottle. You need a hose running on it. And then compound and polish. Super shiny. Easy to touch up scratches and low spots. I had a few bugs in it. It looks okay right now, but i would like to get a scratch remover because I have lots of swirl marks, but I think I can get this things like a mirror. Not sure how long it will last. But it's gotta be better than the way the car looks now lol
