Overall I agree with your points. Phish has certainly settled into a more traditional format when it comes to songwriting, but that’s to be expected considering they’re all in their late 50s-early 60s. And moreover it’s totally fine with me as they haven’t abandoned their older more creative & progressive material at all - when they play live they draw from their whole catalog. Evolve is definitely a more refined Phish, similar in sound to Sigma Oasis before it except I think I like that album a little more. This one is still solid though and growing on me for sure. Nice candid review sir. 🐠🔥🤞💙🎵
Good album and good review but seeing how most of the album is just reworked songs from Trey Anastasio albums can it really be considered a "new studio album"?
