Dude is an underrated baller with a chip on his shoulder and plays exceedingly well in 12 personnel and when that is taken into account, it starts to make sense with what they did in the draft. It makes all the sense in the world that they went out and got Minshew SPECIFICALLY and then drafted Bowers to pair with Mayer.

We have the cap space to pay for a decent backup QB and that's what we are doing with Minshew. If we are going by stats, AOC had a bit over 2,200 passing yards (even with the KC and Vikings game) , that's half of Strouds passing yards for playing half the season. Everyone has a bad first impression from the Chargers game that McDummy set him up to fail (39 pass plays called for his 1st game!?!). We know what Minshews ceiling is, we don't truly know AOC's potential with a full summer camp and improved coaching staff.

I think it is fair to say a whole year of O'Connell with one offense and one coach along with an entire off season of work and first team reps will see better results. I gotta say, it's getting old hearing the Telesco didn't trade up. It takes two to make a trade, and if a team isn't willing to trade on a fair deal, then no, you don't trade. They can't force a team to trade, and you don't give away everything. Its funny, how Raiders fan talk about how good we drafted and the reality is they dont want to mention or forgot AP and Telesco talked about being aggressive for a QB on the draft. So it doesnt matter how good the draft goes because Raiders have a history of Drafting talent and not having good luck with getting a QB or not getting a QB at all so we end up with the same result. No playoff. Because history shows, you can have all the talent but no QB and we wont go nowhere. NO team does. Look at the Vikings, Beat WR decent Running RB but No QB. CHEIFS, have no WR a good TE and they go to the bowl. So in closing, Raiders at the least could have taken Rattler or Jordan Travis because that means at least we made an attempt to get a QB that has been shown to have some upside and we never know how well they will do. Who is Troy Aikman? 1-15 his 1st year. Does that mean he was terrible? The vast majority of starters need time to adjust and catch theiy're breath. The Buccaneers won a Super bowl with Brad Johnson under center. The Ravens won a Super bowl with Trent Dilfer as their QB. They both had a defense that was lights out. Like the Raiders. Anything is possible over the summer.

Going back to the 2003 to 2013 days where we had 16 different subpar QB’s start and never had a winning season. I hope I’m wrong but everything leans that way.
If the Raiders want to make the playoffs this year then Minshew should be given the starting job. Minshew mania needs to be unleashed. The Raiders need to think about making a run this year not next year. Minshew is the answer. O’Connell still has a problem with reading defenses. It is going to take time for him to learn to be a champion in the NFL. Reading defenses is O’Connell’s biggest challenge.
Jimmy G and Hoyer went 3-5 last year. AOC, a 4th round rookie went 5-5 including some big wins, he's calm and poised in the big games. Look at Josh Allens rookie season, 5-6 with a 10:12 TD:INT ratio, we can't write AOC off after one season in an awful situation.

Its funny, how Raiders fan talk about how good we drafted and the reality is they dont want to mention or forgot AP and Telesco talked about being aggressive for a QB on the draft.
So it doesnt matter how good the draft goes because Raiders have a history of Drafting talent and not having good luck with getting a QB or not getting a QB at all so we end up with the same result. No playoff. Because history shows, you can have all the talent but no QB and we wont go nowhere. NO team does. Look at the Vikings, Beat WR decent Running RB but No QB. CHEIFS, have no WR a good TE and they go to the bowl.
So in closing, Raiders at the least could have taken Rattler or Jordan Travis because that means at least we made an attempt to get a QB that has been shown to have some upside and we never know how well they will do. Mr Irrelevant sound familiar. Raiders decide to take a LB vs Rattler or Travis.
So now we enter the 2024 season with 2 back ups. Tho, this video made me see Minshew in a different light. So lets go Minshew!

Minshew is a much better value at QB compared to Russell Wilson and Justin Fields at this point. We did see him embarrass the “#1” defense late last season.

Aiden starting is def a polarizing topic. If I'm being honest, I hope he gets a chance. The real answer to what goes down this year though is training camp. Who is Troy Aikman? 1-15 his 1st year. Does that mean he was terrible? The vast majority of starters need time to adjust and catch theiy're breath. Will be very intereting to see how AOC4 matures in year 2. O'Connell earned the starting job and will stay #1 until he fails and falls behind in training camp. I see O'Connell growing, learning faster and being able to keep his poise. Players trust him...Minshew is a career backup and not the answer short term or long term.

Hiring Luke Getsy and having both these QBs is gonna back fire on ap. Will be a competitive 6-7 win team in the same position next year. Can’t compete in the afc with mahomes, Lamar, burrow, Tua, Herbert, stroud until we get a franchise qb….

The Buccaneers won a Super bowl with Brad Johnson under center. The Ravens won a Super bowl with Trent Dilfer as their QB. They both had a defense that was lights out. Like the Raiders. Anything is possible over the summer.
