Hi Sam, Those statues on Gallows Hill, I really don't think I'd want to be walking round there at night! Very spooky at night which you captured perfectly!! The bridge over the river reminded me of part of the book The Mayor of Casterbridge, by Thomas Hardy which is set in Dorchester. Henchard, the mayor, sees his exact image floating in the water and later discovers that it was an effigy. I won't spoil the story but don't be tempted by furmity if someone offers you it. At one time you had to drive through the city, it must be a lot quieter now there is a bypass. It's of great place, lots of history. Look forward to hearing more about the judge!! All the best!!
Hi David! Thank you! Oh those statues were creepy! Glad I had the light with me! We think that the river was a lot bigger than it is today, that'd explain the drowning. Thank you for watching 😊
The ghosts of the past haunt the imaginations of the living - especially those walking the streets of Dorchester at night. A suitably spooky visitation to some notable haunts. Thank you.
If you have never been try the Galleries of Justice in Nottingham.....the last time I visited I was looking at a display in the museum and a poster on the wall just peeled back on it's own and was thrown to the floor with force....me and the couple who were in same area just looked at each other, shook our heads in shock and all shuddered and quickly left lol
@@SamWalksALot You can cut the atmosphere in parts of it with a knife.....the place is truly sinister and creepy as hell. I walked around it on my own one day to have another look when there was not many visitors and it was so bad I rushed round and left as quick as I could. The prisoners graffiti in the courtyard is very moving and many if not hung were deported to Australia and the colonies. There are certainly some restless spirits there but for good reason
Thank you! I can't imagine that his soul is at rest either. Haven't felt anything weird in his lodgings in Dorchester, definitely in Taunton though. Weirrrrrrd vibes there
That gallows site was horrifying but I really enjoyed your video, some great sounds in this one too. That was a great shot of the church, very atmospheric. What about those dinosaurs though! 🤣🤣🤣
double thumbs up from me another great video spooky area it always shock me what you could be sentenced to death for in the past keep up the great work and here to more great videos
A really fun video Sam and lots of information. The sculpture of the 3 figures l think is by Dame Elizabeth Frink, she had a habit of sculpting figures that looked like herself. Really enjoyed this thanks .
Yes, they are hers, very eerie especially when you're so close to them! I will have to check what she looks like now, I'm curious! Thank you Patrick, as always, I really appreciate it x
Great film Sam! I was going to comment on what a s**t Jefferys was but ill save it 😂 Despite its ghastly tales isnt Dorchester a lovely place? Thanks for sharing and congratulations on reaching lots of followers! I remember when we were a small select group 😂😂 xx
Thank you Mark! Hahaha yes, I remember that too. Some of you have been so supportive from day one, now we are like one big family - without the drama 😂😂 Dorchester is really lovely with a lot more to see. JJ, as I call him, was a piece of work, but they were brutal times xx
A lovely surprise to get one of your videos this evening. I visited Dorchester in 1998. Completely missed the Judge Jeffries history, I'm afraid to say . I recall visited a sort of mock castle keep looking building that housed the regimental museum of the Devon and Dorsets. Another excellent video. Thankyou and well done to both.
Thank you so much! Im very glad you enjoyed it! The museum is still there, I haven't been in yet though. I think that's one of the many old prisons that have been replaced but I might be wrong lol
What an amazing place, especially the museum's. Another great video and fun too. Can't wait for the next. I've had lunch in a beautiful pub in Taunton where the hanging judge sent many to their deaths. They were hanged in the building. It has a very strange atmosphere.
Little boy just hungry and people thirsty and hung for taking bread ,cruel times cruel beings, you two are very funny on this did you have a few drinks before filming began😮
Sam! You just keep getting better. The thing you lack is some shadowy figure dressed in the appropriate attire, moving silently through passage ways. With your video skills you could easily make them appear to float. I noticed the gimbal going mad again. Must have been something there! Seriously. I like your style. Those darting eyes. The quick movements of the camera. They all add to the effects. Well done for being unique. I admire you.
One of the coldest most chill moments on a Judge jefferies Ghost Walk is just out side his chambers when having been pleasantly warm all day you arrive at the solid wooden door and the feeling of a hand on your right shoulder pulling you back just a bit freezers the person from the top of the head to the toes. A voice is heard saying, 'Just a minute before you see the judge. That is a splended necklace you are wearing. Can I trade anything for it. A gold coining or some bread? I only ask as most likely you will not be needing it much longer. With the hair still stood-up with shrill terpedation you quickly turn around but there is no one there. Still feeling iccy cold as if the blood has left your extremities you turn to resume your walk when the same voice seems to say: 'You can go in now. The Judge is ready for you'.
Just as another observation, prison cell number 5 seemed to have an upside-down horse shoe representing the letter 'N'. Upside-down horse shoes are considered to be very unlucky as the luck runs out. I pitty the poor prisoners as, that didn't bode well for them :)
Wow! Hi Sam and Amanda, you're going to see a ghost one day and i hope i'm there with you to witness it with you! You have so much fun, it seems like a real blast. Not a fan of Judge Jefferies by the way xx😂😅
@allenfarmer7869 hahaha thank you Al! I'm not a fan either, but he was an enigmatic character for sure. Learning about him has been an interesting experience 😂 xx
Congrates on the 1k Sam. Epic stuff. Onwards!
Thank you Paul! I appreciate all the support, I wouldn't been able to achieve this without you help as well as some other lovely people 😊

Awww thank you Kev 😅☺️

Oh my! I've heard about them but I didn't have time last time I was there. It's on my list. I've heard that it's crazy haunted!! 👻

Great explore ladies... Judge Jefferies sounded like such a kind soul 😳.
I can't imagine that his soul/spirit is at rest, evil was attached to him...
