Firstly, the hiring process is not in the least transparent. Any one who ever read a posting, matched perfectly the criteria, applied for the job, then heard NOTHING, knows this to be true. Why are some selected & some obviously qualified not even considered? They're qualified but don't even get an interview? Until the hiring system is completely overhauled ( & HR banished to deep space), merit based hiring can never be even hinted at, much less, implemented.
Agreed! Although, I do hope some version of HR (one that actually protects people and not just the business) remains to support employees. Otherwise, there's no telling what some of these companies would be doing-heck I've seen some of what they already do, and it's not good. At all 🫠
