I've read books and watched numerous videos and nothing has ever worked for me. When id get to the airport I couldn't eat, drink or even talk to my wife. I came across your video the night before I was flying from Dublin to Hong Kong. I put on headphones and listened to the video laying down on my bed. A calmness just came over me and I walked onto that flight like I was walking onto a bus..
@@ChristopherPaulJones Mainly this video. Ive watched most of your videos which i find very good but when I thought about what was making me nervous a lot was very similar to this Girl. I still get nervous a few weeks beforehand but I watch this video.. Visualizing rising above it until the actual problem seems so small helps a lot.. But it still hasn't fixed it 100% for me. I over think things :)
I had no fear of flying until I was 43. Then I started to feel very anxious about being so high up in the air. I am not afraid of the plane crashing or turbulence. I have no idea what the “trigger” might have been, but it had nothing to do with any event on a flight. To this day, I can only fly if I use a tranquilizer. There seems to be very little research about trigger events other than bad experiences on flights.
I never used to be afraid of flying or heights in particular, I don't remember but at one time in my life I realized I was now afraid of both. When it comes to flying I'm just afraid of mechanical failure, and I hate turbulence. I just hate the idea of floating freely with thousands of feet of nothing in between me and the ground, and the idea of falling, plummeting that distance really scares me.
just wanted to say i watched this over a year ago and since have flown 4 times at 4-5 hours per flight and it helped me tremendously remembering these things,I still have anxiety during take off but it dissipates once the plane is in flight, and on my first flights i would only allow myself to sit in an isle seat now last flight I moved to a window seat and i wish i had sooner it is breath taking (in a good way) thank you for this and thank you so much for helping me get over my fear, it is so much more convenient and rewarding to arrive at my destination DAYS sooner than on train or bus!
Christopher you’ve no idea how much you’ve improved my life by watching this video and reading your book. I love planes and I live on the flight path out of Dublin Airport and never once think a plane taking off would crash through my roof. However I could never get on a Plane without being nearly in tears and my heart would be racing, I was terrified. But when I read your book I realised my fear had nothing to do with planes at all. When I was seven years old I was getting a car ferry from Dublin to Holyhead and I had really bad sea sickness and on top of that I got lost during the night and had to be taken care of by the ships crew until my dad was found which back in the 80’s on a slow ferry took hours. When I realised that, my fear literally disappeared. Anytime I talk to anyone who has a fear of flying I always point them to your videos. Thank you so much
@@ChristopherPaulJones yes I’ll do that right now no problem.. You’ve honestly no idea how much you’ve turned my life around. My Wife actually works for TUI and has us booked on three or four Holidays a year which I dreaded. Once I got there I was fine but I was a basket case for weeks before I went. Yesterday I was out at the Airport flying to Gran Canaria and we had a technical issue with our plane. We were sat on the runway for an hour and the engineers were out looking at the plane which was making weird noises. I uploaded the video to my channel, you can hear for yourself.. My pulse on my smart watch was in the 50’s.. Didn’t bother me in the least.. That’s how good you are.. I’ll be glad to leave you a review
Mines from tv shows and movies showing crashes! I am told EMDR will only work if it’s from a bad experience memory you have had- but I think that it’s from watching air crash investigation as a teenager so I’m not sure EMDR would work
Good luck Daniel Weil. Let me know how it went. If you need any other help check out the how to tips videos or the free audio programme (links on the header of the channel)
Take off is 90% of the battle for me. Tbh I get really anxious during landing but it’s not as bad because I’m getting closer to the ground. Touching down is the best feeling in the world but take off is like a battle zone in my head.
I am the same. I am due to travel again in 3 weeks and im so scared but im trying to b positive and focus on the point im going to. It wud b nice to enjoy the flight and not get panic attacks n cry. Bonus is my 5 kids find it hilarious n so does hubby lol i dont 😔
Your videos are wonderful! They've rejuvenated my inner work and restored hope I hadn't even realized I'd lost in myself. You've also enhanced my ability to help my own clients (I'm a psychotherapist and hypnotherapist). What is particularly appealing to me about your videos is that there is so little self-promotion, that your sincerity, generosity, and obvious desire to help and support others shows clearly.
I'd work with the route of that phobia first. flying often does have another phobia link to it like loss of control, heights, fear of the movement, being trapped, etc
I am gonna fly tomorrow and hope I won't be scared because I went to hypnosis and a psychologist for a long time. Before the summer I had taken a plane for over 80 times. And somehow the 3 times after a bad turbulence we had I even cried by only seeing a plane. I wish I could turn back time and loose this phobia.
This worked for me! Fear of flying phobia plagued me for 29 years. I have done 2 flights in 7 days and felt great. I actually enjoyed it. I even filmed the take off and landing. Thank you so much. However, I couldn't face the lift in the apartment we stayed in. Do you have a video for this? Love your work.
Thats great well done. Well the best way to get help is to go to my website and book a free clarity call. You could also try the same process that worked for you with glying. but on the fear of being trapped.
@@ChristopherPaulJones I will do thank you. The funny thing was I did as you suggested and went back to the last time I flew, (floating above) and realised the fear was never mine. The man next to me, who I did not know was petrified and I believe I took on his fear. He was sweating, white knucking and hyperventilating and it was a turbulent flight. Is that unusual to take on someone else's fear? On my first flight if some nervousness came I could tell myself it was never my fear. I was amazed how easy this was. I am 50 and had not flown since I was 21.
Hi Christopher, I flew for many years from The US to England in the 90's/2000. I actually loved flying, but then I happened to see one of the 'Final Destination' movies a few years ago, and somehow adopted one of the character's phobias of flying on commercial airplanes. Since watching that movie I've developed an intense fear of flying, mostly the fear of flying at speed also with confinement inside the plane. I guess it's "a lack of control" fear, because when I'm a passenger in a car being driven fast I have anxiety now also. So yeah, a real cognitive mess I've developed. The car passenger situation is improving though, knowing I can stop has a lot to do with it I think.
Yes phobia's normal start with a trigger event like a movie, news story or a bad experience. And yes a fear of not being in control is often link with flying phobia's. You might want to try some of my youtube tips to reduce the trigger event let me know how you get on.
I'm going on a plane for the first time in two weeks and I'm afraid if my own anxiety and panic rather than dying or crashing. I know these fears are irrational but the fear is strong. I've had anxiety my whole life.
Yes that's quite a common fear for alot of people with a phobia of flying, loss of control. if you would like help visit my website www.christopherpauljones.net and you can get a complimentary consultation.
I just went through a time in my life where I was experiencing panic/anxiety attacks. My husband and I would like to take our first flight ever next year for our 20th anniversary. I'm so afraid I'll have an attack while flying.... I haven't booked our trip yet because of this😢
Hi Christopher, Sorry for late reply. I will check out link that you sent me and revert back to you later. Thanks for yourreply and help. you are doing a great job just keep it on. God bless you.
Very helpful and look forward to watching it again and again. I had to go back to my first memory to find that “stability” but it helped a lot. It Did this while having a bodily migraine and it made me very dizzy about half way through through, still spinning lol
I was flying from Cleveland to Minneapolis in a 737 when the left engine began making a screeching noise. The pilot idled the engine and reduced altitude to 5000 ft. When we got near Minneapolis, the pilot told us that we were climbing to 10,000 ft to get into the traffic pattern. Everyone is saying "No, don't go higher!" It was a real hoot.
The subject’s phobia was a 12 on a scale from 1-10! That got her down to a 7. I realized I had done a few things wrong and wanted to do it again correcting my mistakes. So we did it again early this evening and I did it perfectly! Unfortunately her number was still 7! But she said she had a better understanding of her phobia, which confused me because that method is all about sub modalities. Nonetheless she was ecstatic because she never thought she could get better
Well I wrote down everything you said to Louise. And when I asked my subject’s unconscious to find the originating event she couldn’t. I only panicked for a split second and just continued to keep her mind moving. Well I had told her that you had done it in 7 minutes and that I did not expect to be nearly as good as you, I was delighted along the way when we made breakthroughs that were not easily earned! I had to improv a few things like have her conscious mind trust her unconscious mind.
It's likely that if your feeling relaxed in the moment, then feeling trapped and horrified when flying that the root cause of the issue has not been resolved. Ie. the phobic trigger still exist.
my dad lives mostly in Greece I live in England I'm meant to go and see him last week in April for my 34th birthday but struggling even to image being on a plane struggling with the thought of being trapped and claustrophobic anyone got any ideas to help many thanks
That's amazing. I went through it with her. And when he said at the end.... Check in and can you feel where those feelings are now... Just like her, I couldn't either. Great job, great video 😊
Hi Brittany, thanks for getting in touch. Yes, I've worked with people who have a fear of being sick/vomitting. Its becoming more common for people to have this phobia. this is something you are looking to get help with?
I never flew as a child. My first flight was at age 29, and I wasn't particularly anxious about it. I was flying for work from DC to CA, a 5/6 hour flight, with a co-worker who was a good friend. We endured non-stop turbulence practically the entire flight. I vividly recall toward the end of the flight, as we bounced around our seats, looking at my friend next to me - a guy who flew weekly back then - and he was white as a sheet. I asked if this was normal - he said "This is BAD." Even now, after he's flown probably thousands of times, he says that flight was probably the worst he's ever endured. And lucky me, it was my first, and left me fearful of flying. I've flown 4 times since and while I haven't had any severe panic attacks, I always feel like I'm just on the verge of one, never comfortable. Suggestions?
BlanketMan Which has the strongest pull on you? The memory of what happened in the past or the thought of what might happen in future? And which modality is the strongest for you i.e. the thoughts you’re having, the images you’re making in your mind, the feelings, or what you’re saying to yourself?
Christopher Paul Jones I'd say the thought of what might happen in the future has the much stronger pull. I haven't had flashbacks to that rough first flight during subsequent flights, it's just a strong feeling of anxiety about being so high up with nothing between me and the ground. And the lack of control is a factor, also. As someone who suffers from little to no anxiety here on the ground, I'm usually good at putting things in their proper perspective. I don't get too worked up about much, except flying. As for your second question: Tough to differentiate between those things. They're all related to what's going on in my head. If I had to rank one, I guess it would be the feelings I have about being airborne. I don't recall dreaming up specific images of the plane going down while I'm flying. It's just a general but powerful uneasiness.

Yes im 17 never been on a plane and am flying on one soon by myself and am scared i suffer from major anxiety literally i can be laying in bed Have a Thought and feel as if im dying ive never learn my state can you please help me
The build up, the airport, the take off mainly I can't get over the fear of flying, 3yrs ago I caused a bit of scene by nearly getting off the plane as they shut the doors prior to take off, was a nightmare. I hate being not in control, not being able to get off when i want and I do have a fear of death 💀 in general. I'm doomed, a guy sitting me in a chair and asking about floating will do zero for me I can guarantee.
Not sure about this technique, but the only thing that would calm me down is to watch youtube clips from the cockpit. You start to see it as actually being boring after a while. You move the plane toward the runway, gather speed and then physics does their thing. While in the air they are constantly monitored. I almost think that it be better to show people the view from the cockpit instead of the view of outside the plane.
Christopher Paul Jones Yes. This helped calm me down. It helped me to understand what was going during the flight, and how the pilot was in complete control. I believe seeing what is going on from the side window view just confuses our senses as to what is going on. Another technique that I have been working on is to treat my brain (or the part of the brain that causes this anxiety) as just another appendage. Your hand (or any other appendage) doesn't tell you what to do! Make your brain work for you and do what's best for you! When I started to learn how to control this anxiety by thinking like I've noticed my moments of anxiety being subdued the most.
Hello, I should be flying next week. I am scared of flying and cannot even say what I fear. I can relate to many descriptions in this discussion. I like being in control, that is one thing. Also, I am not excited about the height, the turbulences are a killer for me and of course the fear that the plane will crash.. I flew before several times. Was not afraid at the beninning, although the plane movements were not pleasant for me. It got worse with each flight. I do not have any specific bad experience. And 1and1/2 year ago I took a course Flying without fear that was at the airport and they had that plane simulator, where we boarded, took off and everything. I was still afraid even though I knew I am in a building. We did this several times and I was more and more comfortable with it. But still not persuaded. Since I did not fly since that course, I cannot really say it worked or not... but considering I am writing this I guess it did not.. Also, there is this thing I did not notice others mentioning: I am afraid not to be afraid... weird? Superstitious? What should I do? I would love to fly..
The first thing I would recommend is to practice my tips on my UA-cam Channel and download the free audios. If your getting fear about letting go of this. It’s likely that your mind beleaves this behavior is serving you in some way ,keeping you safe etc.
Thank you. I will check your channel. Btw, my trip was canceled, I feel relieved, but sort of disappointed at the same time. Still, I will watch it and will let you know. Thank you
as a pilot in training, i can assure anyone, flying is quite safe, ground school is very hard, lots of training on radio comms, pan pan and mayday calls, and how to handle everything from a catstrophic engine failure to a simple oil pressure drop. we know how to deal with it, and if all engines go out, you dont just drop like a rock you glide, for example the gimli glider incident, due to the canadian switch to the metric system, the plane ran out of fuel the pilots were forced to land on a decommissioned military runway, with faulty landing gear. all survived, only minor injuries related to the escape slides being too short since the landing gear gave out, just minor scrapes and countless other incidents, due to human error and ended in almost no deaths, because important pilot training, death in large numbers is rare in aviation
I also feel uncomfortable while flying because in my leisure time I use to watch plane crashes investigation so can you please help me that how can I stop this....
I have to fly an 2 hour flight and i have claustrophobia. I'm afraid because i always think that i am looked in there and i can't get out when i want. This drive me crazy... please help.
I never use the phrase "test it" it implies possible options of failure. I say "Obviously I have no plane to show you how easy it is for you to fly now, but while you imagine how relaxed you would be even if I did have a plane ready to go, you can just look forward to being proud of yourself once you've taken a flight" Sure it's a mouthful, but it's loaded with suggestion and assumptions, not to mention, it's confusional so much of it slips past any resistance. I'm big on using language, it adds so much to the therapy. Under 10 minutes is good going.
The unconscious sub conscious mind stores all your memories and emotions. If you cannot remember the first event that’s the conscious (analytical) mind talking. Half the work in solving a phobia is quieting the mind so you can work with the unconscious.
Christopher Paul Jones , im 43 have never flown and really dont know when my fear started but what i do know is im petrified, how can you help me if i dont know why im scared?
@@ChristopherPaulJones Hello. I am a adult Attention Deficit Disorder sufferer. I have a mind that is understudy latest, so stimulates itself with racing and chatter. I'm on low dose of stimulant meds. I also have a fear of tall heights and planes. Is there suggestions for engaging with your therapy. Or does it not matter as it's the subconscious mind that we are dealing with? I fly in Dec. I would like to chat with you about this. I do occasional relax meditation atm. Thanks in advance. Ps. I'm in UK.
My name is Evelyn and I have a major fear of flying,to the point where I pass out. My mom wants to have a trip in November and I am not ready to get on the plane again.
That was huge. After about 40 minutes we were done. She had gotten down to a 4. She was amazed! She said she also had gotten new understandings, especially about her unconscious. I had given her a pre-talk on how we were going to use that instead of her conscious and that this is where the money really was. I really talked up your method and did not settle for fuzziness on her part. So I was only slightly disappointed it didn’t eradicate her phobia recognizing all progress is good.
Hi @ LFOVCF Thanks for the advice. I was using a Farrelly coaching with humor / provocative style. I'm not sure switching to a milton style at the end would have worked.. But maybe next time ill give it ago and compare.
I wish I could comprehend what they are actually saying and think that her "affirmative" response of touching her nose never quite happened more than twice... Subtitles needed.
i have emetophobia which causes me to be very afraid of air travel, car travel and boa travel. any situation which i cannot easily escape. has nothing at all to do with the fact that it is a plane and we ma crash. nothing at all. just about control.
Sorry! While your awake your obviously thinking about a crash. Once you wake up from a nap, you will feel completely fine. 2, eat some food. Food will help you ease your nerves a bit. It will distract you from your thought for a while. 3, think of yourself crashing over and over. Soon you will think: 'it doesn't seem that real'. 4, keep thinking you will land safely. I think I've cleared all my phobias when I land. This could help, it also is distracting you from thinking about a crash.
I was in lebanon for 5 weeks and got 3 plane crash dreams under the time so i was really scared when i was on the plane so i was there sitting to the right of my grandma and she started laughing when i started panecing when i had chewd my bubblegum and got earlocks (i dont know if you type it like that) and i stoppad hearing the motor and started screaming like a stung pig. What i learned: never chew bubblegum on a plane ^^
Why is that? What happened ,that you lose all control in an airplane? There are some good books on this subject,in wich you can discover what makes you scared. Is it the airplane,is it the fear off heights or do you not like the fact that you are not in controle? I'm also strugling with the some facts ,wich keep me on the ground for the moment but I'm shure one day I'll be back int he sky, hope the same for you!

Chris - I only developed a fear of flying when I faked it. I was in a bad relationship with a woman from overseas and I didn’t want to visit her family. This I then had to keep up. It became REAL. The other thing was that as a child I dearly wanted to be a pilot but my vision was too poor and it was my biggest disappointment. I wonder which one of these it is. Before I faked the fear of flying though I had no issues. Any advice? Ever heard of this?
i'm not sure i understand why you'd want to hold onto your fear if it doesn't serve you. but as you said, its your choice. if you are happy to never fly again, then you are happy and that's all that counts. personally i love living in the age where planes can get us anywhere in the world, I couldn't imagine a life where i didn't get to travel to exotic destinations.
Hi. I'm writing you from Turkey. I'm extremely impressed with your work. Because i always thought that these kind of phobias take a very long therapy process to be cured. Anyway... I have a huge fear of flying. I'm 28 now and haven't been on a plane since i was 16. I didn't care about my fear this much than, but as i grew older, i strated to pull myself back thinking that i could have a heartattack or so. So i don't fear only of flying but also of being in an incontrollable situation and that something could happen to my health because of my fear. Last year i had to got on a plane after 10 years for work and couldn't help myself but leave it seconds to the flight. And my boss was with me. So it's a huge fear i guess. I have to fly in twenty days. Since i'm not in your country could you please help me by telling what is the best thing i can do in this short period. I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much.

And possibilities were appearing before her. Later this evening I went on as scheduled to the 2nd pattern - yours. Now I don’t consider this modeling because I think that is so more in depth than what I’m doing. I mean it’s obvious you really know what you’re doing; I on the other hand do not! I let that slip last night when I dealt with the subject I don’t know if that made a difference. I had already told her that I planned on using multiple patterns on her to chip away at the phobia.
I have a fear of mice. It is really ruining my life. I haven't used my kitchen by myself in 10 months now. I always need someone to go in with me. I have gone without food for days just by avoiding the kitchen. I now keep pancakes in my bedside draw and water and sweets for the night time in case my sugar level drops. I am married and cannot cook for my husband. It is so unfair for him and I feel sad. I used to enjoy my home but now I just about it at all cost. I stay a lot at my mums with my husband at home. I don't want to do this. We should be together. I need my fear gone. It is taking over my life. Will hypnosis/hypnotherapy work in eradicating my fear totally??
my fear isn't the plane crashing. i have anxiety and panic attacks. I'm afraid of having a panic attack and it might worsen by looking out the window. Hi Chris, My name is Ivana and from Bulgaria, which unfortunately cuts the chance to meet you but I'd still be happy to share and hear any advice from you. I'm 21 and I've flyed a couple of times when I was 6-8 years old but I don't remember any fear or feelings from then. When I flyed again in my teenage years I started to be affraid. I am not affraid when I talk about planes in everyday life but It's enough for me to see a video of the inside of a plane and hear the sounds and instructions of the crew ..and I'm already scared for my life. I try to explain for myself why this happens but It seems I just don't trust humans and what they have invented. I hate the feeling of lack of control, or the feeling that we are not moving even though we are in the sky and I know we are moving fast. When I watched you saying that we should make the picture sound funny I did kind of laugh and feel an odd relief in my stomach BUT the fact that I am scared of underestimating the situation makes me not want to make it funny.. I feel that underestimating is causing bad things to happen. So I ask myself : Is my main problem the fact that I refuse to think that flying is safe enough for me to be calm? Because how am I going to trick my mind to be calm when the word ''trick'' takes me a step back again... I'm sorry for the long message :( Feelings just can't be held in I suppose ... If you have time and will to talk to me by email: relti@abv.bg Thank you
Everyone is born with a blue print.....in this blue print we have our birth and also our death written in it.......i personally am not afraid of dieing i am afraid of what the process leading to my death is going to be and i dont want to be on a plane.....

i m also an aerophobic person and i m very very scared of flying...i took my first flight in 2014 and it was a very short distance travel and after that i never ever fly on a flight..i always avoid flight journeys ...so can travel only by train or bus..but unfortunately due to some work i have to go to Thailand on 2nd January,2017..and i cannot avoid this time.i am very afraid of this..how and what can i do..never know...plz plz i want to consult a consultant regarding this matter..i will be very grateful if someone helps me to overcome fear of flying..hope for the best
I've never flown before and I feel it's ruining my life. I don't really like the way the plane looks and I'm afraid of the floating feeling that I think will be there. I don't like the thought of being up that high. I would probably have to take my first flight alone since I have no one to fly with. :(
VK disassociated is a good tool to take the edge off , but I wouldn’t normal use it for lasting change with a phobia. Yes feel free to mimic me or modelling as we call it. It’s great that people are using these tools.if you do use Time release the main key is to get your client to before the very first time they had the phobia. Rather than the worst time. If you have the first event the phobia will dissipated. If it doesn’t go back further. Good luck and let me know how it goes.
The whole thing! I've watched some of your more recent vids and they're useful but here you both really lack communication and articulation! You can make someone have a positive dream about flying but when you actually get in the plane it's a different story - you can only really test it when you're on a plane. I thought flying was great fun until I didn't fly for a few years - then got back on a plane without thinking and terrified myself. I had absolutely no negative emotions about flying before I got on the plane but the motion of it really freaked me out. I can watch a flying hypnosis thing and feel great before-hand but actually on the plane it's trapping and horrifying.
It's likely that if your feeling relaxed in the moment, then feeling trapped and horrified when flying that the root cause of the issue has not been resolved. Ie. the phobic trigger still exist.
Hi,I have my flight scheduled in next week and I am feeling very anxious.I feel that I will suffer a panic attack each time I imagine myself inside a plane.I have this weird feeling that I will not be able to breathe properly and would open the doors of the plane in mid air and jump out.I am even scared of lifts. Please help me.
Hi @sougata If your imagining negative things happening then I recommend trying these 2 tips How to: QUICK tip for reducing your FEAR, PHOBIA, ANXIETY or How To: REMOVE your FLYING PHOBIA in 10 easy steps
I guess I am not using the technique properly, because it did not do it for me. I think it depends of what it is that makes you afraid about flying. For me it's turbulence (unpredictability of it) and heights. Not sure how to address that using this method because turbulence will be present at some level during every flight.
Hi, i am flying on wednesday morning and i'm terrified of flying, last year when i was on the plane half way through the flight i kept thinking to myself this plane is going to drop out of the sky any second thats all that goes through my mind i really need help
I am 13 and i really would like to go to another country but I am afraid of flights. The first time I flied I was 7months and the last time I flied I was 9 turning 10. I have been over 20 times on a airplane because I have family in different countries but the older I get the more scared I am. But now that I am so afraid I feel like I am trapped. I also have a big fear of throwing up but I never get sick on a plane but it still frightens me. I remember the days when I could just hop on a plane like no big deal but I feel like I could but I am too scared to try. I am actually not going anywhere but I would really like to.. I mean somewhere far on a airplane. I don't know what to do😫😭
Lord Staind I’ll tell you a something which may help: flying is the safest transport on earth. You are more likely to die on the way to the airport or by falling out of your bed than dying on a flight.
I was about to fly last wednesday (aug. 8 ) while boarding ,I felt my blood pressure was rushing high. When I felt that my left head is expeiencing pain and there is a sharp pain in my chest,I decided to voluntarily offload my self rather than comprising myself without control. The next day I went to see a cardiologist.Upon telling him the story, he told me to see a neurologist/psych.he can not cure my condition. It's in my mind. Can you help me on this.Im playing again this Sunday.
I through the all comments and discussion,I have severe phobia from flying I tried alot to relaxed myself but couldn't 1 week before was my flight... kindly suggests any medicine to control my fear...
Flying tomorrow! I'm 11 had a fear of flying for about 4 years now... I feel sick I'm so scared for tomorrow's 6 hour night flight... Can you help me feel better about this flight...?

Hi! I'm 18 years old. I'm going to Korea in first week of March and I'm really terrified to get on the plane. I always think that when I get on and the plane starts to move I will suddenly panic and ask the stewardess to get me off the plane. I really don't want that to happen but I'm scared. I've never been on an airplane. I've always imagined my self working as a stewardess but now it's difficult to imagine that anymore. I hope you can help me. :)
Though I’m a certified NLP Practioner I never actually used the VK -Diss. method before. I don’t have clients and just use NLP personally mostly. So I made a multi -patterned strategy to vanquish my subject’s plane flying phobia. I planned on doing them one a day over the phone. The first was Bandler’s method as outlined in his book “the Guide to Tranceformations”.
I used to love flying until I began working as a radio news presenter in my 20s and reported on several crashes. I am absolutely terrified of flying now. I’m leaving on a family vacation (our first on a plane in 14 years) and I don’t think I’ll be able to do it. I tired your technique and seeing those events even from above makes me so stressed. What am I doing wrong.
Well, this video is not meant as a process to try at home, as there are a lot of little thing that need to be done for you to be able to re-condition a phobia using this tool. I may see if I can do a video training on this in future. The main thing though is to get as high above it and way before so you can no longer feel the fear and take on the positive learnings. You also might want to try some of my tools for removing a fear of flying here on my UA-cam channel. www.breakthroughexpert.com
I told her and believe that she had gotten over the hump. Tomorrow I plan on using Mapping Across. The next day I plan on using another version of the VK-Dissoc I saw Richard Nongard do (on video, like you). Thanks for everything Chris, the subject has already called me her savior and by extension - you are! If you have any products I’m interested.
Probably not. I hate the whole motion of it - particularly take off and when the plane turns and it tilts ... Makes me feel very ill. Couple that with being trapped high in the sky - I wouldn't fly any time soon unless I REALLY REALLY had to. Yuck
I'm not really afraid of flying but I hate turbulence. Just like how I hate roller coasters. I suppose it's something not even hypnosis can really help.

Thats great. Did you get the change from my tips vids or just following this video?
@@ChristopherPaulJones Mainly this video. Ive watched most of your videos which i find very good but when I thought about what was making me nervous a lot was very similar to this Girl. I still get nervous a few weeks beforehand but I watch this video.. Visualizing rising above it until the actual problem seems so small helps a lot.. But it still hasn't fixed it 100% for me. I over think things :)
@@ChristopherPaulJones please do one for choking phobia. 16 years of it. I'm exhausted.

Thank you I'm glad it helped.
Thank you so much
thats great to hear
btw would you mind leaving me an amazon review on the book?
I just got myself into fear of flying in my early 30s. I don't remember having fear of flying in my 20s nor earlier in life. help?
what was the trigger that started it all, ie a turbulent flight , news etc?
Mines from tv shows and movies showing crashes! I am told EMDR will only work if it’s from a bad experience memory you have had- but I think that it’s from watching air crash investigation as a teenager so I’m not sure EMDR would work

I'm PETRIFIED in taking off I cry and have panic attacks
Me too
Take off is 90% of the battle for me. Tbh I get really anxious during landing but it’s not as bad because I’m getting closer to the ground. Touching down is the best feeling in the world but take off is like a battle zone in my head.
The Shipper same
what are you thinking about when you take off
I am the same.
Thankyou
What would you do if you had a flying phobia that was caused from another phobia?
I'd work with the route of that phobia first. flying often does have another phobia link to it like loss of control, heights, fear of the movement, being trapped, etc
I need some help from you... I m flying for the first time.
@@Sowranabpl just go here www.christopherpauljones.com
I’m so glad I found this. I have a flight in less than 2 days and wish I could shake the anxiety of being trapped.
How did it went 😢
I am gonna fly tomorrow and hope I won't be scared because I went to hypnosis and a psychologist for a long time. Before the summer I had taken a plane for over 80 times. And somehow the 3 times after a bad turbulence we had I even cried by only seeing a plane. I wish I could turn back time and loose this phobia.
How is it now?
@@ChristopherPaulJones can I book you ?

Which has the strongest pull on you? The memory of what
happened in the past or the thought of what might happen in future?
And which modality is the strongest for you
i.e. the thoughts you’re having, the images you’re making in your mind, the feelings, or what you’re
saying to yourself?

How did it go? Late reply I know
The build up, the airport, the take off mainly I can't get over the fear of flying, 3yrs ago I caused a bit of scene by nearly getting off the plane as they shut the doors prior to take off, was a nightmare.
I hate being not in control, not being able to get off when i want and I do have a fear of death 💀 in general.
I'm doomed, a guy sitting me in a chair and asking about floating will do zero for me I can guarantee.
Same here (((
It's the thought of not being able to get off same feeling as being stuck in a lift
Did you find doing that. works for you?
Christopher Paul Jones Yes. This helped calm me down. It helped me to understand what was going during the flight, and how the pilot was in complete control. I believe seeing what is going on from the side window view just confuses our senses as to what is going on.
Another technique that I have been working on is to treat my brain (or the part of the brain that causes this anxiety) as just another appendage. Your hand (or any other appendage) doesn't tell you what to do! Make your brain work for you and do what's best for you! When I started to learn how to control this anxiety by thinking like I've noticed my moments of anxiety being subdued the most.
Fantastic keep up the good work.
+Lia Wight, I have some tips that help me: I have a phobia of flying. 1, try to sleep. While
Elextro - Glitches ^ was writing this while flying then crashed...

Thank you. I will check your channel. Btw, my trip was canceled, I feel relieved, but sort of disappointed at the same time. Still, I will watch it and will let you know. Thank you
Same Condition is mine..
This is how i feel at the moment as i am trying to be positive but then i think dont b positive cos sumthing will happen
as a pilot in training, i can assure anyone, flying is quite safe,
ground school is very hard, lots of training on radio comms, pan pan and mayday calls, and how to handle everything from a catstrophic engine failure to a simple oil pressure drop. we know how to deal with it, and if all engines go out, you dont just drop like a rock
you glide, for example the gimli glider incident, due to the canadian switch to the metric system, the plane ran out of fuel
the pilots were forced to land on a decommissioned military runway, with faulty landing gear. all survived, only minor injuries related to the escape slides being too short since the landing gear gave out, just minor scrapes
and countless other incidents, due to human error and ended in almost no deaths, because important pilot training, death in large numbers is rare in aviation
I also feel uncomfortable while flying because in my leisure time I use to watch plane crashes investigation so can you please help me that how can I stop this....

I am terrified of flying and have just pure you're book Christopher. Please i hope it works x
What happens if your unconscious mind cannot remember the first fear of flying?
The unconscious sub conscious mind stores all your memories
and emotions. If you cannot remember the first event that’s the conscious (analytical) mind talking.
Half the work in solving a phobia is quieting the mind so you can work with the unconscious.

What I find funny is that I actually talked myself through the fear of fling, I literilly talked to my brain via my brain into comfort of flying.
But maybe next time ill give it ago and compare.

i have emetophobia which causes me to be very afraid of air travel, car travel and boa travel. any situation which i cannot easily escape. has nothing at all to do with the fact that it is a plane and we ma crash. nothing at all. just about control.
Yes it so often is
Is it the airplane,is it the fear off heights or do you not like the fact that you are not in controle? when did it start?
Chris - I only developed a fear of flying when I faked it. I was in a bad relationship with a woman from overseas and I didn’t want to visit her family. This I then had to keep up. It became REAL. The other thing was that as a child I dearly wanted to be a pilot but my vision was too poor and it was my biggest disappointment. I wonder which one of these it is.
Before I faked the fear of flying though I had no issues.
Any advice? Ever heard of this?
This video really helps people who are dealing with this problem.
i'm not sure i understand why you'd want to hold onto your fear if it doesn't serve you. but as you said, its your choice. if you are happy to never fly again, then you are happy and that's all that counts. personally i love living in the age where planes can get us anywhere in the world, I couldn't imagine a life where i didn't get to travel to exotic destinations.

Merhaba, uçuşunuz nasıl geçti? Hala aynı anksiyeteniz var mı? Ben de böyle bir korku yoktu. Yeni oluştu. Eşim seyahat etmek istiyor, fakat benim yüzümden yapamıyoruz.
I'm taking a 20 minute flight from L.A. to San Diego next year. Then I plan to take one to Guatemala. I was thinking about getting on the plane drunk lol idk
Hi Chris, am I right that you ask the client initially '' if I ask the unconscious mind it doesn't know the first event''??
I was fighting with my cousin when i was child suddenly i got panic attack during fighting after that until now any one who be angry against me or about to argue or fight me i get anxiety attack .is this kind of phobia and can you treat it by this method .thank you

It sound like your phobia stems from a fear of loss of control. Do you remember a time when you didnt have it?
Christopher Paul Jones hey
If you have time and will to talk to me by email: relti@abv.bg
Thank you
Everyone is born with a blue print.....in this blue print we have our birth and also our death written in it.......i personally am not afraid of dieing i am afraid of what the process leading to my death is going to be and i dont want to be on a plane.....

I've never flown before and I feel it's ruining my life. I don't really like the way the plane looks and I'm afraid of the floating feeling that I think will be there. I don't like the thought of being up that high. I would probably have to take my first flight alone since I have no one to fly with. :(
I'm hoping for my first time flying commercially will be to Vidcon this year.
Hi @sougata If your imagining negative things happening then I recommend trying these 2 tips
How to: QUICK tip for reducing your FEAR, PHOBIA, ANXIETY
or
How To: REMOVE your FLYING PHOBIA in 10 easy steps

Christopher Paul Jones help me please

Have you tried my tips videos and the audios?
Not yet.

Yuck
So is it just planes that course these feeling or does it happen with anything else?
i have the biggest fear in the world of lfying! i get panic attack everytimes!! help me please!!!!!
I'm not really afraid of flying but I hate turbulence. Just like how I hate roller coasters. I suppose it's something not even hypnosis can really help.
I have just released a brand new free fear of flying program check it out here
