Dude! Thanks for talking with them about the ST and asking good solid questions! Alot of those were questions I had as well (camera footage was spot on also, good angles and sneak peeks). I would love to slap that fairing on my 2020 Low Rider S. Those new bikes are so clean and I'm glad to see HD getting back in tune with its following and building bikes that we have all wanted for a long time. BLOCK youve gotta do a Low Rider ST build! That would be awesome! Or at least get us a test ride review when one is available. I'm dying to get your thoughts and impressions. This channel is a huge reason I went with the Low Rider S. So, thanks for the awesome content and keep it up!
I love everything about this bike, with exception of the digital gauges. I like it up in the higher field of view, but would prefer something larger with more analog aesthetics. I also like to be able to see speedo and tac at the same time.
This digital dash has three display fields - the speedometer always showing in one field, the gear indicator always showing in another field, and has the option of RPMs/clock/trip A/trip B as the third field.
I love the look of this bike. I remember the FXRT back in the day when I was teenager and fell in love with that fairing. I just dropped a deposit on one at the local dealer and am first on the list so I hope they get one in. I had a 2016 FXLRS and hated the dyna handling even with Sputhe positrac motor mounts. I hope this softail is better.
I'm 31 - grew up watching my dad ride his harley, my whole childhood. I started riding sport bikes when I was young, mostly got it out of my system and now I want my own bagger just like my pops so I can take my kids out. this bike is the one for me... I'm thinking about picking up a side hustle so I can save hard for this bike, i'm stoked harley is *maybe* listening to their customers FINALLY.
Im a oddity the the HD world as stock exhust I do prefer on my bikes, prefer just a little sound. If more sound preferred do prefer slip ons that mimic the stock look of the motorcycle.. Im not a huge fan of large alteration the base design of the motorcycle. The non symetric bags are quirky and unique and really dig that aspect! Such an awesome bike, the ST is incredible! If I had one prob would be base stock for a very long time. Would add a two up seat and backrest for 2 up journeys and swich to solo every so ofter as the single saddle is great looking as well.
I am loving the aggressively sleek front fairing on this machine. The right aftermarket seat and bars and good to go. I am struggling with the shape of the bags. They seem to conflict with the design of the fairing and for lack of better logic, they look too modern. Great job getting this done, Blockman! MP
I wish the gauge on the new sportster would be an available option. Would be nice to have the built in navigation. I'd gladly pay extra for that when I order mine.
@@cisa1622 Yes, I didn't think of that.. I do like that fact of not having to look down on the tank. the dash on the bars is much better. Looks cleaner also.
@@JonV-r7q agree the small dash on the bar is brilliant on these bikes. These bikes aren’t very advanced to have an iPad as dash to provide a lot of setting or info for the user.
Thanks Blockhead !!! I have been curious why H-D did not put in vent flaps in the the fairing so the rider could chose to close the vents. I once had a Road Glide and I used those vent flaps. Irregardless that is a beautiful bike. I enjoyed the interview a lot .... I loved to see Harley doing well.
Ugh. She's beautiful. I was one of those 2020 FXLRS buyers that dumped a ton of cash and time into evolving her into a sport-tourer (including a RWD FXRT fairing, RF speakers, and LeatherPros leather bags), and everything he says about their design approach to the new fairing literally felt like a gut punch. Totally get it. It's better. Much better. The fit and finish is second to none. Kudos to the MoCo. As soon as the FXLRST dropped last month, I traded in my 2020 immediately, trying to get the best value I could before these 2022s started to land in dealerships. Picked up a 2018 FXLR, threw some apes, slip-ons, air cleaner, and a fuelpak, and called it a day. I can't keep up with Harley's future, so I'll just celebrate its past.
Good on Harley for doing these new ST models, retro but modern, very cool. But as they guy said, this is them just following what West Coast builders have been doing with the Low Rider for a while now. You can get after market FXR fairings from other places - Russ Wernimont, JD Customs, BMC. Though Harley's definitely is better, because its not just a shell and is functional and styled to fit the bike.
That’s so nice. Maybe one day I’ll be able to get a Harley. Being a single parent I can’t afford one right now. Keep up the awesome videos man I love the way your doing them now!
I’m so fucking excited for this bike. This is what I’ve wanted out of the LRS since it hit the Softail platform. I do a lot of touring and, while I love my 2020 CVO, I’ve always wanted something that was a little more middle of the road. I saw so many sick builds hit the LRS and was thinking about dropping some serious money to turn one basically into what you get out of the box here. I know a lot of people were turned off by the “Further. Faster.” announcement, but it was just what I was looking for. I put an LRST on reserve the minute the announcement ended and now have a verified VIN showing up in a few weeks. So pumped.
Having different sized bags just throws it off for me. If they had kept the 2-1 from the Sport Glide they could have had both bags at the same size but I suspect the bean counters go to it
I like the look of it, but am still in love with the look of the standard Lowrider S. I am also another typically poor rider. So the ST remains the stuff of "if I ever hit the lottery" dreams. Until then..I have my 113 Raider to rip up the streets. 🤘🏾😎
Great content from the best motorcycle channel there is, Block! The bags and digital gauge is a deal breaker for me..rather get a S and slap on leather pros and a tall road warrior..Gunship grey..she’s be called GreyZilla..👊🏽
Is the fairing detachable ? It was my understanding that it is… it would have been useful to see how that looks/works but not sure how it does with that big headlight mount.. ???
I ordered One of that "Sportouring machine" one month ago!! I Owned two dynas before, but this new model it's simply Rad!! I Fuckin' loving it and can't wait until the end of may. I will count one by one the days left to the ship will arriving here in europe. Cheers from north Italy and thanks for this video
A sport glide exhaust set-up would have been smarter and plenty of leftover parts available. And the bag height would be the same with a smaller muffler.
This is awesome. So I’m currently contemplating a LRS but was thinking maybe the sport glide as with some mods you can make them look very similar plus got the bags. So this is kinda perfect and ticks all the boxes. Good work HD. Great vid as well block.
I would have liked them to put a two-into-one exhaust and leave the bags even. Is there a bag option to make them even? I know you cant please everyone and concessions had to be made to bring it to market.
I’m trading my 2012 fat bob for one of these. I was lucky to find one here on Long Island that wasn’t reserved and promptly put my deposit on it last week. Seeing this just got me stoked.
Of courses they'll never sale the fairing separate, they want you to by the ST, if they where to see separate people would by the cheaper S model and retro fit them. What they mean by special tuned forks for the ST is probably just added thick oil into the forks.
I just hope they make the fairing as an accessory for existing LRS sooner rather than later. Love the look over the FXRT offerings, looks more proportional in my opinion.
Unfortunately it doesn't sound like that'll be an option due to the front end differences. The 2022 FXLRST is designed to support the weight of the new fairing unlike the previous FXLRS... I'm told you cannot order the parts without a verified VIN for an ST at the dealership. Hoping next year they give them symmetrical bags and dual gauges, I'd make it my next purchase if they did that. Not trading in my 21FXLRS for shit though, dealers are offering garbage prices for them.
It is fairly arguable you could just buy an old high mileage Dyna, slap on performance parts and still have a large budget overhead. For mid $20,000s this is just now having everything they all should at standard. Even the base model Indian Chieftains are coming with a performance Fox rear suspension set up, braded lines and inverted front forks. These "fancy" features on the HD and its price hike seem a bit confusing. This should be their new standard for even base models (aside from the 117ci). Still a slick machine, going the right direction.
I have only one dream - to get this fairing on Sport Glide... i love the seating position of Sport Glide way way more than on a Low Rider... but I also love the design of this fairing. I guess need to wait for a year or two... but by then i probably end up installing some aftermarket option.
I'm looking into getting this bike in the near future and would more than likely replace the stock exhaust. What are your thoughts on the Screamin' Eagle high flow exhaust system? Would the bike have to be re-tuned even though it's tuned for the heavy breather from the factory?
Built my Sport Glide similar to this bike before it was introduced. You can build it faster & better than this from what you have with less money than trading for this bike will cost.
Awesome job I was waiting for someone to get close and personal with it at Daytona....I wonder what's the exact date it's hitting dealers since I have the 1st reserve on it at my spot
I'm not sold enough on it. Everything they have done I have already done with better than Harley parts. I might scoop the fairings, bags, and tail light assembly for the indicators, the harness to route the front indicators and its still less expensive than upgrading because I'm not going to get back what I paid in after market.
@@jimmyrustles8118 no that’s what I’m saying. Those are the only desirable parts. It’s not worth it to upgrade. I mean, I could put the bike back to stock and throw my parts on the 22 ST, but it still wouldn’t be worth the hit of trade in.

The asymm bags makes sense. I just wish Harley would ALSO sell a full size right bag in the P&A catalogue for those who CAN fit full size.
Yeah. Would definitely prefer symmetrical bags.
Maybe you can SW-Motech SLC mounting bags for Harley-Davidson.
That is not a bad idea at all, symmetry is nice.
This may sound dumb, but the asymm bags would keep me from buying it if I was in the market for a new bike.
Especially because everyone will put on a 2 into 1 which will make it look worse
