Freewing A-10 Thunderbolt 80mm with Reverse Thrust (Fisrt flight of the year 2024)

- This was my first flight of the year 2024...🎊🎉🎈😁
On this flight, I tested the new Freewing 100 Amp ESCs with reverse thrust on my Freewing A-10 Thunderbolt 80mm jet. These are the ESCs that Freewing is now using on their recent special edition version of this jet. I'm happy with the performance of these ESCs. This jet was desperately screaming for this upgrade in order to reduce her stopping distance after landing.

That reverse thrust is pretty darn cool. Do the motors briefly shut down before reversing direction? If not then I can imagine that would be pretty rough on the motors.

The way I use reverse trust is as soon as I touch down, I lower my throttle stick entirely down, the I enable full reverse thrust on s designed switch. To answer your question, No the motors doesn't momentarily stop before engaging reverse thrust, and yes they could damage them... That's why you first need to make sure you stopped the motors before engaging their reversing mode... That's why on this video you saw my plane abruptly dropped to the ground on landing...I stopped the motors too early...Thankfully nothing happened to the plane, but I ruined what could've been a perfect butter landing , lol 😁
