Technically, RC planes can be flown exactly like full size airplanes. Just not as fast. But tight formation flying, dogfights etc are all possible with viewpoint from cockpit.
I had the idea of a camera on these kind of planes with BB-Guns mounted to them to do air combat against other remote aircraft. Spirit level does not work as reliable attitude indicator in aircraft since the bubble would center if the resultant g force straight down through the cockpit floor. The aircraft could be in a steep bank while flying a coordinated turn and the bubble would still be at center. The reticle on the reflector sight against horizon is a simple and intuitive tool to use to gauge flight attitude.
Oh yeah!… the more $ you have in the plane rig..the more $ you need to spend so you don’t crack up the plane… or at least have a preventative measure! this in person cockpit tech is a must have!..hands down!…plus your landing/take-off, is dialed, your taxi is dialed your fuel is dialed, what else..ooh, float birds..yeah! My God! I can't believe the technology of what you can do now. I've watched RC plan flying, and although some of the plans are incredible to watch. This takes it to the top. Great and wholesome hobby to get into that your wife would approve. I will be making an intro video soon. But first step is for you to visit a local RC field and see if you like flying there. Having a safe place and people you trust to fly with is important especially flying in FPV - first person view.
Late to this but wow, this is amazing. Hopefully I can find all I need as I'm starting from scratch. A: type of RC plane, B: additional setup, C: fitout/mods on the plane.
If you don’t have any RC flying experience, I recommend starting out with a trainer plane. This head-tracking FPV system is intended for experienced RC flyers looking to fly in a new way.
Can you imagine live ammo and full on tournaments in a controlled environment between squadrons of The Luftwaffe and the Royal Air Force, the possibilities are endless, make it into a show like robot wars.
Perfect, on a T-28, i am building one from scratch, with head following cockpit view. Just need to get a vitual overlay of your actual instruments. Yes i know the models are only painted, but a little overlay down the bottom of those main anaolgue dials etc thanks!

This is amazing, Can you please tell me what parts should I get to this with my sons? I see BADASS GIMBAL and DJI O3 Air Unit... anything else ? I see hub prompter and some voice counting, gun sounds etc.

Cockpit view dog fight is super cool but a glaring lack of realism is due to the super quick response of scale aircraft. Real aircraft react much slower. Maybe modify the controller firmware to reduce the control surface deflection to improve realism.
Astute observation, no way around the flight dynamics of smaller airplanes. We are flying bigger planes now that approximate full scale flight dynamics much better🙂
Theoretically, yes. But I don’t have the expertise to make it happen. The elaborate math, programing, and hardware to do all that and transmit with low latency is far more complex than simple mechanism which I designed and used. The person/company that can make it will be richly rewarded and I will be interested in buying the product.
@@motionsic now thinking about it, yeah, seems like a shitty idea. 360° video will have to be processed into a format suitable for display on a fpv headset, adding to latency, and the conversion should probably happen on board of the rc plane, so that the entire 360° video isn't transmitted, but having all these electronics there doesn't seem to simplify things much Thanks for your response mate, great flying!
If you guys sold the planes with these setups attached and all that was needed seperatly was a headset I’d buy it no matter the price cuz this is awesome
What FPV camera are you using? And how are you able to record the footage? Do all FPV cameras capable of recording? New to FPV flying. Any info is greatly appreciated. Great video!!
This video was recorded using DJI FPV Air Unit Camera. And yes it includes recorder onboard for both video and audio. This one’s no longer available. Most FPv cameras do include recorder.
Dog fights, formation, tricks,…
So more more…well spent $… more fun, challenge, reward, safety!
Way less risk! Have to have it!
If I ever manage that huge scale ford tri-motor with real radials and interior..I’ll definitely want to minimize the risk to my pilot error possibilities! Ty and hope to see you soon! b.
That's awesome! My eyes sparkled like a child's. Thanks for sharing.
Glad it excites you!
Absolutely stunning!!!!!!
Awesome video!
This is AWESOME!
Wow, love the focus on realistic flying makes it better. Thanks for sharing im gonna have to look getting back into the hobby.!
Glad you are inspired to join in the fun!
That was AWESOME,thanks for posting video,I was exhilarated too.😊
Yay!
lol yay
Incredible! 👏👏
it even has a sight that is AWESOME!
It’s great for target practice - dogfighting, dive bombing, etc. More importantly, I use it as a very precise attitude indicator against the horizon. Line it up with the horizon and I am flying level without using altitude indicator or variometer. Great for landing, too!
Could you make a video on how to get the fpv head tracker working. From start to finish please?
Working on it.
Wow. Maybe I do want to get into RC airplanes!
Collaborative play with RC flying buds is where the fun/challenge is at! Formation flying, dogfight or air race; possibilities are endless. Get into it!
My God! I can't believe the technology of what you can do now. I've watched RC plan flying, and although some of the plans are incredible to watch. This takes it to the top. Actually being able to sit in a cockpit and fly while standing on the ground.
I always wanted to learn how to fly, but never took the time for all the training. But this has me hooked!!! I would love to know how to get into this. I know without a doubt that's how I would spend my days!! My wife would probably never see me! Lol
If anyone could tell me more about this. Please let me know what I need to do to get into this terrific hobby!❤❤❤
U guys need a couple of KC tankers and you can come visit me in Sydney AusTraila, too bloody right mate, moneys on the fridge.
You should find AussieHoppy, he is in your neck of the woods and is the guy that inspired me to do this scale FPV flying thing: ua-cam.com/video/x3_pQhyKbRk/v-deo.html
@@motionsic will do, many thanks, v much enjoyed the 2 x t-28s, looks liek your club has a great setup.
that is awesome I have to get a fpv system so I can install them into my birds. Awesome thanks for sharing bud.
Thanks and you are welcome. We want more flying bros to join in the fun of formation flying and dogfight!
That was AMAZING!!! 😃
Thanks, cheers!
Great flying..
Thanks, cheers!
Great job! Got some good deflection hits!
Haha thanks! Keen eyes.
THAT WAS SO REALISTIC AND AMAZING , EVRN YOUR TAKE OFF AND LANDONGS WAS AWESOME
Thanks! Still much room for improvement🙂
Incredible!
Hello, thank you for uploading this video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow, absolutely amazing. Subscribed
This is amazing, Can you please tell me what parts should I get to this with my sons? I see BADASS GIMBAL and DJI O3 Air Unit... anything else ? I see hub prompter and some voice counting, gun sounds etc.
You need DJI Goggles 2 and O3 Air Unit;
Motionsic BAG - BadAss Gimbal
fpvdogfight.com/products/motionsic-b-a-g-badass-gimbal
Tally-Ho Head-tracker
fpvdogfight.com/products/tally-ho-head-tracker
On top of typical RC car or RC plane with their necessary equipment.
This is impressive 👌
Me and the engineer boys on free Time:
wow it's almost same as real flight
if airspeed and altitude can be indicated, it will be perfect
Thanks for the compliment and suggestion!
Always very very cool!
Question: could 360° cameras be possibly utilised instead of elaborate mechanical contraption that rotates the camera?
Theoretically, yes. But I don’t have the expertise to make it happen. The elaborate math, programing, and hardware to do all that and transmit with low latency is far more complex than simple mechanism which I designed and used. The person/company that can make it will be richly rewarded and I will be interested in buying the product.
@@motionsic now thinking about it, yeah, seems like a shitty idea. 360° video will have to be processed into a format suitable for display on a fpv headset, adding to latency, and the conversion should probably happen on board of the rc plane, so that the entire 360° video isn't transmitted, but having all these electronics there doesn't seem to simplify things much
Thanks for your response mate, great flying!
AWESOME !
Впечатляющее !! Это ну очень круто !!!
If you guys sold the planes with these setups attached and all that was needed seperatly was a headset I’d buy it no matter the price cuz this is awesome
Thank you for the recommendations. We will strive for PNP for future product release.
The ones that don’t, you could still record from goggles side. See step by step FPV setup here: ua-cam.com/video/_V1Nma-tBOc/v-deo.html
And the Corsair, my fav, thanks!
Mine too!
Do you have a video showing what we would need to do head tracking?
In the works.
That was amazing.
Thanks, cheers!
This WAS exhilarating you’re right 😂 awesome video!
No G sickness future fighters love this
Very cool!! Nice flying too!!👍🙋♂️🖖🏻
Thanks, cheers!
so freaking cool!
Very cool. Seems like this could be done even better with a 360 camera. Wouldn’t need servos for camera movement, just software to control which pixels get sent back to your goggles.
Easier said then done. Do you know of a 360 camera that transmits and displays in goggles with low latency (
Very cool 😮😮😮
🙏😊
Now time for the BB guns with AP rounds! so cool this is a dream for someone who has been playing war thunder for so long.
Right?! Can be a little more thrilling since crashing has consequence ;-)
so incredible!!!!!!! love it
Thanks, cheers!
