  • Landscaping around my newly built smokeless fire pit. Keeping things simple but inviting a place to hang out for a nice fire during these cold fall and winter months. A little bit of mulch, pine straw, and a few plants go a long way to turn a bare, boring fire pit area into a nice place to enjoy with the family after a long day.

The project is looking great. Just a caution on the placing of mulch. You do not want mulch going up to the siding or foundation of your house for reasons of termite tunneling not being spotted and the rotting wood also draws termite concerns. Placing rocks or river stone is a safer choice.

Just an heads up, if you want the mulch to stay in place consider spraying it with mulch glue. That thing works wonders

I thought about doing that, but I was thinking it was going to take so much glue.

Looks good but I'm wondering why you didn't sow grass seed in all of that flat area. It's going to be a nightmare to clean up leaves, etc out of that mulch and especially the pine straw.

Why didn't you just use the same stone instead of mulch?
