Hi and thank you very much for your video! For everyone who is wondering how to use the sound that comes from YOUR COMPUTER and not your MIC: -CLOSE RHINO -Go to Sound control panel (Sound settings -> Related settings -> Sound control panel) -Go to recording tab -Disable microphone (May not be necessary but try it) -Enable stereo mix and put a default -OPEN RHINO If you do it while rhino is still open rhino wont get it. Hope I helped you guys!
Amazing tutorial ! Thank you so much. I have a question if you don’t mind , is it possible to stop and capture the shape of the waves at a certain point ?
Its wonderful, awesome, gorgeous, perfect,... I am advertising for your channel among my colleagues. I don't know how I have to appreciate you for all these nice and useful tutorials. however, I have one request which is related to post a series of tutorials about firefly plugin. Because as a mechanical engineer I would like to do an experiment to convert the geometrical deformation of a beam to geometry during tensile loading. How I can do it? With the best regards
This is really cool. I am having issues with my sound capture component from Firefly. How do I insure this component is connected to my preferred microphone, internal computer mic, or external mic? Right now I am only seeing a stagnant number coming out of the volume of the 'sound capture.' I hope someone can help.
Hello!! I really love this tutorial. I was wondering if you could post a tutorial on how to generate from a .wav audio file using python and firefly? thank you!!
Hi! At 5min 34, you use a Timer, i don't have the Timer component in my Grasshopper, where it is? I just come to install Firefly, i don't have timer component in Firefly, and everytimes i am trying to use Firefly, my Rhino Crashes, do you know why? Thanks :-)
I am running Rhino/GH on Mac - Firefly doesn't work on Mac, and after emailing the developer he told me that "Firefly uses the C_sawpan_media.dll to get access to the user's microphone and/or camera and unfortunately this library is only compiled for Windows machines". Any idea how to get a similar live sound input functionality on a Mac? I am working on an art installation using sound and this is amazing and exactly what I need, I'd hate to have to partition my HD, install WIndows, and buy a 2nd copy of Rhino for just this one function. Great tutorial!
Rhino 6 is a single purchase for both mac and PC now - They use a web based zoo license now. You cannot avoid the partition unfortunately, unless somebody can recommend a fix for using Firefly on mac. Which is something I would love to learn as well. I am constantly switching between partitions and it is very complicated once you throw in cloud storage services. I have to take uploading breaks far more often than I prefer to.
I am curious about this as well. The slider animate is very straight forward in the output method, but I am not sure how to output this as an animation that can be edited in animation software. Is this technique mainly for animating in Grasshopper exclusively?
did you got the solution? i was also wondering about that,at starting he showed that we can make images through number slider, but i think there might be some other method too
as far as I know there is no platform to export a procedural model(like the one in grasshopper) the only way I know is to use grasshopper plugin render engines like vray

Is it possible to export the animation ?? if yes how can we do it??
You can use HETEROPTERA Plugin to just capture video from rhino environment but if you want more advance try Vray for grasshopper
