Neal Morse is one of the most prolific and talented prog songwriters/musicians ever!
I will remove "prog" from that sentence. Literally every single one of his songs give me goosebumps.
Not much has changed over 20 years. Neal Morse is still a genius.

Alive Again might be one of my favourite songs of all time! Absolutely phenomenal.

I stumbled onto Spock's Beard a few months back. Being a life long Rush, Yes, early Genesis junkie, I kicked myself when I realized SB had been around for 13 + years making awesome prog rock and I missed out. Now, I'm hooked on Transatlantic, OSI, Neal Morse and a ton of other prog rock I've never heard.
Yes, DT is my go to music but any work with Portnoy will garner my ears. I've been digging Simon Phillips work lately as well. Check out Protocol 2 and 3. Protocol 1 was his first solo work and he played all instruments on it and its pretty obvious. 2 & 3 are excellent.
Excellent! Have you checked out The Flower Kings too? That's the band of the guitarist from Transatlantic.
The Flowers kings are really good and a lot of the Prog metal bands like Threshold and Symphony X

neal morse is one of the best prog artists ive ever heard after hearing a few of his albums so far he is definitely in my top 3 of best progressive rock/ metal artists/bands

Neal morse strikes back and surprises one more time with finest prog rock. It's been like 15 years since I started following his work, after I read his interview in local rock magazine.. Seems like forever. And his music helped me a lot going through difficult times.

Incredible album, and back when it came out, none of us knew what was in store from this band in the future. Now with three absolute masterpieces, with a fourth coming out in just weeks, this band/project/whatever you want to call it has cemented its legacy ten times over. Every song on this album is amazing, even the less progressive ones. The cover of MacArthur Park is incredible, Alive Again is one of Neal’s best epics in my opinion (and I tear up every time, from right after the instrumental section to the end of the song), but The Call… To be honest, I think it is one of the greatest songs of all time. All ten minutes of that song are perfect, never even getting close to having a boring moment. The guitar solo, keyboard solo, vocals, etc are intoxicating, and I can’t wait to see how the epics on this new NMB album will somehow top it!

Adrian Gamez I listen to both... What's wrong with that? They're different and I don't see why people change some music for the other. That is an obstacle for musical and cultural richness.
***** I never say stop listen DT i love DT but you have to admit they reach the maximun point and is normal bands like Rush make a great music but neve gonna make another 2112 or Metallica another Master. Thats why i say Haken every new record is a improvement so maybe in a cuope of years Haken make their own master pice.

yeah Mike Portnoy has some recursive fills patterns through out all his bands haha. Signature good old Portnoy as we like him :)

Just discovered Neil, Wow Kansas and Yess had a Child, and he listened to some Heavy Metal. I love every track. Alive Again, and there Cover of Macarthur Park are Epic!!!

Saw them in concert in Hamburg and was suprised, how greatly they played and had a lot of fun together. This is really a striking world-class-band! Amazing voice of Bill Hubauer!

I have loved Neil Morse's work with Transatlantic but never knew much about his solo work until the masterpiece of an album. Brilliant song and a also a nice nod to former bands by having Portnoy on the drums. Gr8 stuff.

I feel being in a band with other musicians who have a bigger say in the sound is good for Neal, often brings out some of his best and fresher sounding work. Look at Flying Colors, Transatlantic, early Spock's Beard. I like this new direction with the new band name, this ensemble Neal has put together is nothing short of brilliant!
Realzi agreed. I find Nick DiVirgilio more exciting than Portnoy lately.

There are elements of all the great prog-rock bands but with such a beautiful spirit of worship to the Lord! The musicianship is just stellar.

Brilliant! Epic! I've been following Neal for the past 10-15 years. I'm so impressed. I just ordered this album along with other stuff from Radiant records. I don't know how many mountain bike rides I've done with his music in my head- God has truely blessed Neal. I saw Transtatlantic in SF a few years and bought the back stage pass. I loved it. Come back to SF and play.
Neal Morse is the best way to the future of progressvie rock I think.

I know how you feel, I feel like I'm one of the only few 16 year olds that enjoy this music. I've only gotten to listen to this album, Sola Scriptura, One, Lifeline, Momentum, and Question Mark. And I'm in love with everyone of them as a teen trying to be the best Christian they can, this gives me something awesome to listen to! Thank God for Neal!
