- Watch the first tour of our French garden. We bought a 17th century farmhouse in Normandy, France five months ago, and have big plans for the two and a half acre garden. See all the incredible before footage and hear how we plan to transform the space.
Your garden is like a fairytale! I love it, so much history 💗
Thanks, Fiona. I'm definitely looking forward to bringing it back to life :)
I wish I could fast forward 5 years and see the progress.
Ha! You and I both :)
Cool!
What a charming property! I just found your channel and immediately subscribed! Enjoying being able to get in on the front end of your project! Stunning property....covered in a jungle, but she will come back to life with your loving care! I'll be tackling a much smaller French farmhouse in the central Loire Valley in just a few weeks......so we'll become youtube friends on our projects! Cheers!
Thanks, Jill. How exciting that you'll also be renovating a French farmhouse. Best of luck with your project :)
Just found this channel, subscribed and enjoyed your video. Not so much to bingewatch so I'll follow you from the Netherlands.
Welcome! Glad you found us. I'll be sharing many more videos over the coming weeks and months :)
Thanks for the tour.
Hi Erin! Glad to see you here. I am all in for these videos about your property and gardens. Thanks for posting!
Thanks, I'm having fun making them, so you can expect many more to come :)
Liked and subscribed. Oh boy. What an amazing and ambitious project. Perfect for a young healthy couple with a passion for the outdoors, gardening, landscaping, and architecture. I'll be looking for updates!
Question regarding the invasive plants: are they truly "invasive" or just unwanted and prolific growers?
I'm battling both at our 3 acre homestead with two houses and a half dozen outbuildings.
And that darn Ivy, people love it but it wreaks havoc on trees (kills them) and on structures as you well know.
Good luck and thanks for taking us along on the journey.
Hi, thanks for the like and subscribe. Like you, I put English ivy in the invasive camp, since it kills trees and damages buildings. We are also battling stinging nettle, which I would say is more of an unwanted, prolific grower, since it's both native, and edible (for both humans and wildlife). It has its place in the landscape; I just don't want that place to be our entire yard :) Blackberries currently round our list of problematic plants we're battling. I would say it's down to opinion on whether they're a true invasive or an unwanted, prolific grower. The blackberry varieties found growing in the wild aren't often native to the area, and they definitely have invasive growing habits. But it's hard not to love the free fruit they provide. For the purpose of our project, I would say they are acting as an invasive on the property. That being said, I'm not looking to eradicate them. I plan to let them grow in certain areas (so we can enjoy their fruit), and concentrate on removing them from other areas where they are posing problems. :)
Amazing place, I would love to hear the history of this piece of land. I am also curious to know if you have had any paranormal activity.
Yes, when life slows down a bit, I would love to dig into the history of the property. And nope: no paranormal activity to report :)
Best of luck. Big project 😊 alot of property....great bones...I also love your entrance arch..it's quite special. Love to see inside your house🙏
Thanks, Theresa. I'll definitely be sharing more of the inside of the house as we furnish it. The dining room will likely be the next room that I share.
